Ace gave Nell a small sad smile. "Yea I feel a lot better. Sorry for unloading all of that onto you." He ruffled her hair and gave her a quick kiss on the forehead like a big brother would. "Hey you don't have to tell me yours. Tell it to someone you trust your life too. We all have scars Nell, and the weight of them can crush you if you don't let someone help." He said with his wisdomly smile on his face. "I'm sure you'll find someone who'll bear the weight with you." He said with a happy glint in his eyes. He was glad he could tell that story. He was glad that he could tell that story to someone he trusts. And to someone he could trust his life too. Nell to him was family, and would always be family. "Nell you remind me of my big sis. I want you to meet her one day." He said with a thoughtful grin.
He stood up and stretched, then he wiped his eyes of the remnant of tears. Then a thought appeared in his head and quickly he fished out his wallet, he flipped it open and then flipped through the pictures finally stopping on the one he was searching for. It was a picture of a small young Ace and a small girl beside him. Her hair was blonde like wheat and her eyes were a deep blue like a lake hiding mysteries behind it's dark blue waters. Her skin was pale from not being out much, she was wearing a white sundress with a large white sun hat. Ace was wearing a black shirt and green cargo pants and dirty white converses. Ace was running to the girl, a large wet rock, he was laughing with it in his arms. The girl was laughing with him, he didn't remember why they were laughing, but it didn't matter it was a happy moment that he cherished. Next to the picture was a pink ribbon, gently placed beside the girl. He took the wallet and showed it too Nell. "This is her. Her name was Ray." He said his face beaming at saying her name. Even though he moved on, part of him still loved the girl that he had met in the hospital one day. But he knew she wouldn't mind if he had a wife and kids, she wanted him to be happy. That's what he believed anyways. "I'm gonna name my first daughter after her." He said daydreaming. Then he snapped out of it. "Oh geeze sorry, I just got all mushy on you didn't I?" He said reverting back to his old goofy self. "Sorry about that." He said with a smile.
When Nell gave him the options on what they should do today Ace shook his head. "I think I intruded on you for to long." He said getting up and walking towards the door. Then he stopped pulled out a pen and wrote his number on the side of a box beside the door. He pointed at it."That's my cell. Put it on speed dial. Call me at any time that you need me and I'll be there. Got it?" He said with a grin. Then he turned around again and stopped, wanting to say one more thing. "Hey Nell, your friends always have your back. Remember that." He said then turned around and walked out feeling a lot better than he did before.

She was about to shake her head before Ace ruffled her hair and kissed her. Giving him a mock pout, she said, ”I’m glad, really.” And those were damn honest words coming from her mouth, honest as she always was. But then he was talking about telling people about her story, and she shifted her eyes away from his. The only person who even knew remotely anything about her was Josh, and she believed having him know she was a murderer was enough of a weight to carry. No one else needs to be burdened with her history. Or her scars. Only if someone needed to scary story to be told she might, but even still… No one needs to know about me. Because she wasn’t like Ace. He was important, he needed to tell these things. Her tale just made the world look ugly. She didn’t want other people to have to hear things like that. ”I will,” she murmured, turning her eyes back at him and putting up her best winning smile. Tilting her head at his next words, she said, ”Yeah sure. I’d like that.” She’d never known much about Ace’s personal life, after all.
Nell looked at the picture and smiled. Again, it was like peaking inside Ace’s past, tunnel vision to events long ago. Some pictures should stay, she figured. Even though she burned most of hers, she’d kept the ones with her sister. Because that girl had been the best thing in her life. And to find that there was something left of her after she died… Well, it was nice to know she didn’t completely disappear. That it wasn’t only Nell’s memories keeping her existence here. And when she had children (if she ever felt she could have children without becoming a monster), she would show them those pictures and tell them they were the happiest little girls there ever were. ”Ray,” she repeated softly, still smiling. Nell chuckled a bit when he talked about his first child and shook her head, ”No, you didn’t. That’s sweet.” Maybe she would name a daughter after Tilly, or would that be cursing her to a life of illness? No, she didn’t want that at all.
”You’re never intruding,” Nell said, following Ace when he got up to leave. She wasn’t about to stop him from leaving, though, that’s not really the mark of a good hostess. Laughing a bit when he wrote down his number on one of her boxes, she said, ”Yep, I got it.” Well, at least she’d always have it even if she decided to ‘discard’ of her newest phone. She was about to send him out the door with formalities when he parted with one more word of wisdom. Nell didn’t even have time to respond to that before he left out the door. Walking back into her kitchen, she thought of how hungry she was again and how much she wished Ace could make another one of his sandwhiches.
