An argument between two hard-headed individuals like themselves could go on for days without pause if they could only forsake the human need for sleep and sustenance. He was stubborn and she was equally so, a friendship forged in the fires of hell. Sometimes she appreciated his inability to budge and other times it exasperated her, but the fact that they remained close at the end of the day spoke for something. ”Ah, you’re full of shit,” she said matter-of-factly, the words accompanied by a haughty smirk. Listening to him as he crowed about his own abilities, the red-haired drama teacher shook her head. ”Shit and hot air. You’d need a javelin to pop that ego.” If there was any popping it at all, of course. They were of like minds and so she understood exactly how difficult it was to knock them down a peg.
Unaware that he’d seen past her disguise, Rin continued on as if nothing had unsettled her. ”An accountant?” The face she made when speaking those words made her opinion of the job more than clear. ”Never thought I’d say this, but teaching actually sounds like a better deal.” Then again, she was terrible with money, so that could have been part of it. She’d never grown up with much, neither rich nor poor, but when she’d started to make her own money it had become hard not to spend her entire paycheck on frivolous items the moment the cash was in the bank. She wasn’t entirely materialistic but everyone enjoyed their creature comforts and, in her case, a night out at the bar. Drinking calmed her. Keeping her mind from wandering, she added, ”I guess this is interesting, though that can be bad or good depending on my mood. Ask me on a better day.” The last sentence was thrown in with good humour but meant quite literally. There were actually days when she found herself enjoying her job, even if they were few and far between.
The cruel joke directed toward her colleague coaxed a snide laugh from the woman. She liked his sense of humour. Justin was one of the few people she could joke around without being met with shocked stares or words of admonishment. She crossed lines other people weren’t willing to so much as approach and she was proud of that. That her friend was of a similar attitude was a serious bonus. ”Y’know, I’m not convinced he doesn’t snack on his students from time to time. Dude’s the size of the fucking Hindenburg, there’s no way he turned out like that without some assistance.” Thyroid problems were a load of shit in her opinion. If you were fat, it was your fault. She wasn’t stick thin herself but she was convinced that the few extra pounds she’d put on over a winter of eating fast food and not exercising could be easily shed. She just hadn’t ‘found the time’ quite yet.
Crossing her legs when she sat on the couch, Rin tucked her hair behind her ears and looked at Justin inquiringly. ”So what’ve you got planned for later? I’m gonna lose my mind if I have to spend another night shut in my apartment.” Already she was considering the bills in her wallet and how many beers they might buy her. She’d paid her rent and so she didn’t have to worry about that. Food was another matter entirely but considering she hadn’t run out yet, it didn’t cross her mind. She was impulsive like that. ”Hell, I’ll even cover costs. I just don’t want to be that loser that hangs out alone.” She was a social butterfly, it would be a blow to her ego if she came off as a loner.

WE WOULD GO UP ON THE weekend to escape our busy lives One of the reason he supposed they were friends was by the end of the day, neither of them took anything personally. At least, Justin certainly didn’t. He was sure she couldn’t give two fucks about what he thought about her. Although they thought highly of each other despite what others might have thought. It was something that no one else could really understand. No one really needed to understands because he gave as many fucks as Rin did. Justin honestly heard what she was saying about his ego from multiple people. Mostly seriously pissed off ex-girlfriends, but whatever it was. Strangers were going around and telling him the exact same thing. Not impressive. ”You should know by now it wouldn’t be nearly enough. In fact, all the attention I’d get from the javelin would probably just boost it.” Words just flying out of his mouth. She was completely right, but Justin would never say that, of course. Though he never said otherwise.
See, it was all about perspective. Would one rather deal with screaming misbehaving children all day or spend the entire time in front of a calculator. Although there were those that actually enjoyed that. Justin could honestly say he was not one of those people. He would much rather do something interesting with his life. His dream was a little far fetched, but an accountant had to be the worse option he could take. Rini seemed to agree with him by the facial expression she was giving him like she just smelled a smelly sock. ”Aw, see? Not so bad.” Then she went on discovering how much more interesting it was. Justin would probably be entertained up to a point. There was that part of him that would know how to discipline and they would probably hate him for it. Not that he would care. As long as he saw that they were passing and such, that was the only job of a teacher, right? There were many he was dealing with that couldn’t do that much. Not that he gave them much of a chance. Most of it was kind of tossed out of his way. ”I could ask you on a weekend. Would that help?” If she didn’t have class, she probably had a performance to watch. Justin had remembered. They were doing pretty well. If he said so himself. He wasn’t sure what kind of people she was getting now.
Her comment about her co-worker made him laugh, snickering a little bit under his hand. She was so witty and clever. She was usually funny anyway and when it wasn’t directed toward him, it was even funnier, ”I’m curious- does he even fit into his desk?” He asked, trying to picture that man waddling himself over to the side and fit into a tight corner. It was probably a little more out so that he was able to be there, but it wouldn’t be exactly easy to get into day after day. ”Maybe they should also put a little more apples on his desk.” Something that Justin actually never understood nor did he ever do. He was a little kiss ass when he saw the opportunity for it (not often), but he never did anything like bring them the shinny red apple and place it on the desk. It was an apple. Justin didn’t even like apples. One of those culture things that he never seemed to comprehend.
Now that was the kind of talk he liked to hear. Talk of anything that had anything to do with going out like that. This coffee was nice, but the look written on her face said that she was going to have to get out sooner or later. ”That’s what I’ve been wanting to hear.” He wondered if the school had some policy towards it. There was some study that basically said students were freaked out when they saw a teacher with alcohol. Another one of those stupid little tests meant to ruin the fun for society. If he were a teacher, he would be hammered every night. It was bad enough with Justin. He didn’t exactly go every other night to get so wasted he passed out, but he had fun. A lot. Covering the costs wasn’t necessary. Justin was a spoiled middle class child. ”Wont’ be necessary but going out sounds more like my kind of talk.” Doesn’t have to be somewhere completely crazy. Unless that’s what she needed, but he saw any fights breaking out in too crazy of joints.
AND WE WOULD LAUGH AT ALL THE douchebag guys chasing down desperate wives
