One thing that Kiya had never really had when she was younger was the friendships that would last until the end of her schooling career. She had always wanted something like that but she was just fine with the friends that she currently had if they were to be as awesome as Belle been to her. Not to many people knew about her father and the condition that was in, it was always good to the able to talk to someone about how she was feeling about everything to do with that and by good was it a load off of the wind girls back. “Thanks, so do I. Haven’t heard too much so that is always there but I shall tell you if I find out anything!” She would only really find thing out every couple of months, though she wasn’t complaining. Finding out that your father was getting sicker was something that no one wanted to hear and as good as it was to find out stuff, it was just as good during though periods of closure. It is kind of weird how someone you could know a person and have no idea that you had friends in common. Kiya had to admit that she and Nell hadn’t spoken very much since being in detention together but it was always good to catch up when they did! “That is for sure! Heard that she got married to your brother recently! Could you send a CONGRATZ from me?” Well, she hadn’t seen the two of them so why not try and get the message though, there was always hope for people like that and she always wished to have someone like that just for her, who knows really!
It wasn’t very often that Kiya was able to get any sort of internet connection other than the one that the school provided. For a while she had been going to an old friends house to be able to get some good gaming time in but the two of them hadn’t talked in quite a while, even though she was still able to know where to find all of the good items and somehow she was able to get a few rare items; even though it was very rare that that happened! “Dduuddee! We need to play at yours one day, if I was allowed to that is for sure! The school internet can only go so far!” It was awesome to know that she had a really good friend that knew exactly what she was going through, with her games at least. She hadn’t had to many people like this, other than her dad and brothers. On the other hand, on the topic of sport she really couldn’t help but laugh at the younger girls face, “You do have a point! Sport in general just isn’t fun if you ask me!" Kiya said without making it an overly loud comment, the last thing she needed was a bunch of sport junkies coming over and causing a fight! She had already had her one fight for the year and she really didn’t want to go over that! Back to gaming it was, which Kiya really didn’t have a problem with! “Tank classes are always fun to play if you just want to dominate everything! Which I have no problem with..” Tank classes where always the favourite when Kiya would be playing on her own. You could just go around killing and you didn’t have to heal as much as most other characters that she had hidden away in way to many places to count! ”Aggros? You get used to them! I have seen my fair share of 12 year old screaming on the top of their lungs during a game!” That was one of the more true things!

Annabel remembered the wedding well—as the maid of honour she'd played a big part in the ceremony and had been right next to her brother and Nell as they tied the knot and recited their vows. She remembered when everyone had teared up, bride and groom included, and the thought of it nearly choked her up again. She managed to avoid this, instead grinning from ear to ear. "Yeah, October sixteenth!" That had been the wedding day. "Sure, I'll pass the message along. I'm sure they'll appreciate it!" Annabel hadn't actually acknowledged how much friends and family they had until the congratulations and well-wishes had started pouring in thanks to the wedding. Cousins she'd never met and relatives she'd never even heard of from out east had sent their regards in the form of cards. It had all been a pretty exciting time.
Kiya seemed excited by the prospect of gaming at her house and Annabel's features split into a wide grin as a result. She loved to spend time with her friends and was glad that her brother and sister didn't mind when she had people over. Her parents had been really accommodating but she'd been worried at first since her big brother wasn't nearly as social or welcoming. Nell had changed him, though, and Belle was grateful for it. It meant that she could have Kiya over after school or on the weekends and they could spend time gaming together! "I'm sure you will be!" She was pretty confident they wouldn't turn her down, especially not since they both knew Kiya. "Ugh, right? Especially when they start recognising the hack. Then they close the servers and everything sucks!" She remembered a terrible two week block that the school had put in place once. No gaming for two whole weeks? She probably would have lost her mind from boredom if she didn't have her computer and internet access to go home to. She wondered how poor Kiya coped with the down times.
Her blue eyes widened. "Oh, you think so? I love sports—just not tennis," she added, laughing. She was an avid swimmer and she enjoyed others like soccer, basketball and volleyball as well. She was also a good skater and knew some of the basics about hockey. The other winter sports were not something she'd ever tried, though. Skiing looked scary!
Annabel considered herself to be a versatile gamer in the sense that she could adapt to almost any class in a game and have fun playing it. She had her favourites like any gamer but she was a bit of a completionist and liked to find out every little thing about a game. That meant playing as different classes to discover new gameplay elements and content! "Can't argue with the tank!" They called them tank classes for a reason, after all! She really enjoyed mowing down hordes of enemies with little resistance. Then again, she also liked taking them down at range or dogging after her team mates and providing them with helpful buffs. It was hard to decide which was best! "Oh my god, right? So annoying." Then again, given her age, a lot of Annabel's gamer friends were those exact screaming twelve year olds. Still, she had some decent ones in the mix! Not everyone was the same and she was glad of that. "I don't think I'll ever like aggressive monsters, though. Not as a cleric, especially." Being a healing class and getting accosted by hordes of angry monsters was the worst.

This was something that Kiya had always wanted, in some sort of way. She really hadn't had to many friends, that she actually knew in person, while she was growing up. Between moving and people just thinking that she was down right weird, it was something that she really hadn't taken to. Of course once she had began her school days at the academy Kiya had gained some friends that she knew would last her a life time and she had to admit that this would be one of them! Even though Belle was a few years younger than her, she knew that the two of them had been friends for such a long time. "Hmm, hopefully I can." With a friend like this she knew that her parents would freak, well she really hadn't had one up to this point. She also knew that something like this was something that she was treasure for such a long time but once they were on the topic of hacking the schools internet she really couldn't help but laugh. "You have a really good point. The most annoying part had to be when they just outright not allow you to go on the internet at all. I swear that has happened so many times and I am officially over it!" Just the prospect of having a good gaming experience was one of the main reasons that she was looking forward to moving into Maple Hollow once she had gotten into college and was settled. Then again, sometimes all she could do was play games on her phone and as long as they were good than she was happy. Or at times it would just be internet in general that would be alright when she had those couple of weeks where she just not able to do anything gaming wise!
Sometimes people had different opinions on different things. To Kiya, well to say it nicely, she was allergic to the sun and that was the story that she would always go with. For some people, and a few gamers, sport was something that they would do to keep active or to have some fun. "Really? That's cool, that's cool...." And this just happened to be one of those situations!
Kiya was someone that would always try everything that she could to get as much out of a game that she could. Even if it meant that she would have to re-play a game over and over again. If it was a good games that she would be willing to do that. Whenever she would play games on her own, she would always try to play a defensive character, considering she would pretty much always change around to play with her clans as such. It was something that she had always done and it was also something that she was just a little bit used to now that she had been gaming for this long. With this amount of time that she had actually spent on games you could also see that if there was one class that she would be afraid of when she would play any types of game would be the 'tank' character. "Defiantly! Never mess with one of those guys?!" Once the conversation had drifted to a little generation of children that played games. It was something that had really been annoying for Kiya when she had really started to play games just a little seriously and she was getting used to playing with a team of people. It was something that she hadn't been used to and something that she also hadn't been excited to do because of those types of people. "You can say that again. It is people like that that give gamers like you and me a bad name.!" This was something that she had been passionate about but it was also something that she had also really been annoyed about!

Annabel relied on the internet for her sanity sometimes during the hours when she wasn't in a lesson, like when she was waiting for her brother and sister to get out of class and drive her home. She hated when she tried to log on and talk to her friends to kill boredom and found out that the school was blocking connections. "Thank god they don't do it very often. It's good if you can get onto the college wifi." They didn't restrict the internet access of the college students and Josh said it had something to do with them all being adults or something like that. Her brother had been seventeen when he'd started college so it didn't always applied but she supposed the fact that he'd turned eighteen part way into the year made sense. "The connections are kinda slow but they're better than nothing." It bothered how little they trusted the high school kids but she supposed it had something to do with how a lot of them would use the connection really irresponsibly. Hmph, I bet the college students aren't much better. She could only imagine what their search histories might look like. At least Belle and Kiya just wanted to use the connection to get access to their games and not anything worse.
She liked that Kiya didn't judge her for liking sports when she didn't. People got so defensive of their likes and dislikes sometimes and they'd attack you if you didn't have the same views on things as they did. It bothered her because she was stubborn and had her own opinions. Kiya was her friend, though, and she respected that the Wind didn't like sports. The girl liked video games and that was all the common ground they needed to hit it off. "Y'know, I actually don't like sports in video games much," she mused, verbally bridging the gaps between the two subjects. "They're never as fun. I prefer FPS and all that." She used the abbreviation for first person shooters, too lazy to spell it out and guessing that Kiya would know. "And MMOs of course." She figured that went without saying though considering they were playing one. They were in the middle of a conversation about aggros and annoying gamers when the bell rang loudly and she groaned as she realised that it meant going back to class. "I almost want to skip," she said longingly. It would be so much more fun to sit and play games but it would be far too obvious to stay in the library during classes. Plus she didn't want word getting back to her big brother in any way. Josh took school seriously and she could only imagine the lecture she'd get if he found out she was skiving off her classes. "Guh, guess I'd better go..." She stood up and smiled. "Hey, we could meet up after school and hang out, though."
[Figured it was a good place to end since it's gone on a while! Feel free to PM me if you want a new thread with Belle or Josh or anyone <3]
