Yeager dropped his bookbag to the floor with a loud thud, sitting on top of his desk and putting his feet in the chair. He hated school. Maybe hate was a strong word, but he used it a lot. He hated his job, he hated his life, there was a lot of hate. Surprising for someone who was always so cheerful. But there you have it. Of course, on an emotional level, he was rather apathetic to it all now. Especially his family. There was happiness in the fact that he was getting a new car soon, it was only a matter of when. He was front half, and his parents would pay for the other half. He had told them he wanted Nana Grace to pay for it, but they said no, she barely had enough anyway. Which was a flat out lie. She was the one who totaled the car and god a DUI, she was the one who should be paying for it. Even half, he didn’t care. All he focused on was the fact that he was getting a car, and that was that.
He talked to a buddy as he waited for the teacher. There was supposed to be a sub, and they were all guessing that he had gotten lost in the castle. ”Poor guy, probably down in the dungeons with the Fire dicks.” No one around had heard that comment, even though it was spoken rather loudly. That or they just ignored it. Yeager figured it was most likely the latter. He found it hilarious, and laughed quite a bit to prove as much. ”Oh my god, shut up Elliot,” some girl called, shaking her head. She was one of the few people to refer to him by his first name, along with parents and relatives. This only made him laugh harder, however, just to piss her off. She was a Water student, an acquaintance of his, but no one ever said this boy was a nice person. Hell, he had great fashion sense, though, so that made up for it, right? In his opinion, it did. He was so fly, motherfuckers were trying to find him. The shoes that were on his seat were brand new and shining, and he wore a long-sleeved thermal shirt, scarf around his shoulders. It was pretty cold in the classrooms, so it wasn’t just for a fashion statement.
When his partner-in-crime arrived, he grabbed his hand and clapped his back in greeting. ”Welcome back, dickbag,” Yeager greeted Heath oh-so affectionately. This was how he treated his friends. Didn’t everybody? No one really got all sweet on their loved ones because no one thought about how important they were all the time. Everyone took their friends for granted, joked around with them, dicked out, and didn’t think about the fact that they might not have them around forever. An optimist like Yeager didn’t think like that at all. ”I’m in your class, yo! Failed one last year so I have to retake it. Horrible, yeah. How was break?” he question, his arms propped up on his knees as he gazed at his fellow Water. His voice showed honest interest. They’d spoken and hung out since then, of course, but there were still stories that he might not have heard. He loved stories that his friends, they were the most hilarious shit he had ever heard. So he was looking forward to everyone’s tales upon their return to school.

Heath woke up from a deep long sleep, returning from a great break. He looked at his alarm clock and notice it was time for class. As he looked at the clock he thought it said 7:00 but it really said 8:00. Heath quickly rose up and slapped himself in the faced, "Damn it. First day from break and I'm going to be late." He shouted at himself and jumped out of bed. He went over to his dresser and took out some blue jeans to wear and then put on a black v-neck shirt. Putting on his black vans he sprinted out the door.
Running down the hallways he was trying to get to class quickly as possible. "Damn it...really heath come on." He shouted as he had to turn around and go back to his room to get his school bag. Sprinting even faster now he grabbed his school bag and went straight to class. Trying to catch his breath, he had to slow down as he forgot about those staff around school that will get him detention for running in the halls. As he walked quickly down one hallway he turned the corner and sprinted with a fast jolt of speed. Heath was now just inches away from the class room when he heard a loud older man speak, "Mr. Carroll. Your not late for class are you?" One of the teachers around the campus spoke to Heath from behind.
He was an older gentleman as he placed his arms around his chest. Heath turned around and gave a big smile trying not to cause any alarm that he was really late for class, "Me. I'm never late. I just had to go to the bathroom sir. Just Heading back now...have to go." Heath spoke as he gave a wave goodbye and began to walk fast into the room. As soon as Heath entered the room he felt his hand be grabbed by someone and smacked from the back. Heath wasn't expecting that from a late entrance. As he turned around he heard the word dickbag. And only one person uses that word, and that was one of his best friends or partner in crime Yeager.
Smiling he gave his partner in crime a big hug, "Dude....your in my class. We're gonna rock this class....Uh what class is this again." Heath shouted to yeager and then leaned in to Yeager to ask what class it was. Heath was really stoked to have Yeager in class with him now the class will go by fast and be fun for the rest of the year. "My break was fantastic. Was to go to the mountains and snowboard. My parent's have a cabin and thats all we did was relax and snowboard the entire break. Was pretty amazing time. Which I was still there....How about you? Any fun crazy stories?" Heath spoke out to his friend as he sat next to him in the desk. Then his brain went off topic, "Man I thought I was late....or I was late but the teacher is now late...thank the lord." Heath spoke with a relief effort and smiled. A few girls behind him began to roll there eyes, "Great, having those two together is gonna drive everyone crazy. They will never shut up when there together."

Yeager kept a straight face for a moment before cracking up, holding his stomach. This kid was just too much for him to take. He almost had tears in his eyes, rocking forward on the desk. It got a little quiet in the room before the students began talking once more, things about break and work they had to do over it and all that good junk. He didn't pay attention to any of the other conversations. The guy may have been obnoxious, but he was far from flighty. He believed it was one of the few things he'd gotten from his biological mother. He was focused when he wanted to be, though his teachers would like to disagree with that, most like. "You are fucking retarded," he said. He was nowhere near breathless when he finally collected himself, a grin stretching out on his face. "Algebra, dumbass. Were you smoking up the entire break or something? The fuck?" Clearly the twelfth grader was not fit to be in society with other people around him. Or maybe the FCC should censor him wherever he meant. There was no limits when it came to his joking, or even his seriousness whenever such a situation came about. In any case, the reason he was in this class was not because he was stupid and didn't understand the stuff. He understood it all, he just didn't do work. It took time out of his day when he wanted to do other shit. He didn't have time for math.
Damn, Heath was living the high life man. Going snowboarding in the mountains? Yeager certainly was not underprivileged, however. He lived in the lap of luxury, how else could he be so styling. "Damn lucky," he griped. "I had such a shitty break. Well, other than going to the Bahamas. Other than that I was around the Hollow." And he had a lot of crazy stories, of course. When he remembered one, he said, "I got a BB lodged in my skin, and my grandmother decided to fucking pry it out with a folding knife. Did not even know she had a folding knife. Shit hurt like hell, I even got a scar." It was an indentation near his shoulder, but he couldn't roll up his shirt to show it. That'd have to be some other time. The story was good enough without it, though. Anyone who knew Yeager knew his entire family and pretty much his life story. Two fathers, a mother, a grandmother, and an adopted baby sister. That made for a crazy household. He shook his head. "And my sister had to go to the hospital because she tried sledding off the roof." That had given him a panic attack. As much as they were always at their throats, he truly loved the girl and cared for her. He had an odd way of showing it, however, considering he yelled at her when he found out. It had hurt him, though, when she looked like she was just about to cry. It was strange that someone who radiated pure evil like her could still get a reaction like that from the guy she constantly tormented.
Yeager moved just quick enough to catch the ball someone threw at him, using one hand to grab it out of the air. He turned it around and inspected, the guy who threw it to him apparently not wanting it back as he turned right back around to speak with someone else. "A fucking water toy?" He snorted and squeezed it between his hands while listening to Heath. The curly headed Water laughed when he mentioned that he thought he was going to late when the teacher was the tardy one here. "Nah, we have a sub. He got lost somewhere. Don't know if he'll make it in time." His eyes found the clock and he grinned. He certainly hoped the guy wouldn't make it. That would be fucking terrific. Not that they did much the first day, but it was still agonizing to be in here again. He wasn't unintelligent, just lazy. Heath commented on the girls talking to each other and Yeager threw the ball at the back of one of their heads. She turned around, gaze sharp and affronted. "Can you throw it back?" he asked as if that wasn't intentional, and she merely turned back around and started talking again. He got up to retrieve it, speaking when he settled into his desk again. "Goddamn, they sound like seagulls." He did a very good impression of one of the birds then, obnoxious and shrill. Another silence before the conversation started up again, as if nothing had occurred to interrupt the flow.

Heath rolled his eyes at Yeager, ”Awww Yeager stop it…your making me blush…..” Heath said as he made fun of the girls that were mainly in this classroom as he motioned to hit Yeager like a girl. It took all of three seconds before Heath began to bust of laughing he couldn’t be serious anymore. The girls around Heath looked at him and gave him the death stare and gave off an angry sound and then the guys around him gave off a few chuckles. ”You know I try to get as much smoking done before school started,” though Heath was only being sarcastic because he never smoked in his life. It wasn’t his cup of tea for him but he would always joke around with Yeager. His partner in crime was a bit much for most people but beyond all the foul mouth he had and jokes there was a good friend that would do anything for him. And since his freshmen year the jokester grew on him and he can handle Yeager perfectly fine. All people really had to do was fire back at him to put him on his toes, ”Algebra…that’s right….least I didn’t flunk it and retaking it.” Heath didn’t understand why Yeager could fail the class he was a smart guy. Heath was a bit jealous that Yeager was smart but the only thing wrong with Yeager was that he was a lazy guy who didn’t want to work. The difference with Heath was that he wasn’t book smart and school came to him with problems on trying to understand everything. He does try when he needs to but it bearly helps him.
Heath drew a big smile on his face and was shocked to see he went to the Bahamas. That was a great trip for vacation, ”Dude come on. Really? The Bahamas? That must have been so much fun.“ Heath paused to listen to Yeager to talk more about his break. When Heath heard that he got a BB lodged into his shoulder he wanted to laugh so hard, but when Yeager brought up that his grandma took it out with a folding knife Heath couldn’t hold it in anymore. Heath busted up laughing so hard he almost started to cry. Couple seconds passed he looked at Yeager with a big smile, ”Your grandma is the coolest. Let me see the scar? Please come on.” he begged his friend to show the scar. Few minutes later Yeager broke the sad news of his break about his sister. His family was crazy and loads of fun but when something like that happens Heath felt the pain because he has been to his family’s house and knows his family. There like his second family to him, ”Bloody Hell! Is she all right?” When one of the guys threw the water toy Heath laughed and watched Yeager throw it at one of the girls head. Busting up laughing he knew it was only a matter of time before Yeager threw at the annoying chirping birds in the class.
”Come on…pay attention.” Heath joined in the shouting toward the girls adding to Yeager’s comment toward them. Heath laughed again when Yeager had called them seagulls. Moving away from Yeager, Heath made it to the teacher’s desk and jumped on it. Making eye contact toward Yeager he motioned him to toss the ball over to him, ”Seriously? Do they ever stop chirping over there? Mine…Mine…Mine…” Heath had began to mimic seagulls and began to motion and walk around the desk to mimic seagulls movements.

Yeager laughed at his friends blushing comment, a hard and sharp bark. He had a bit of a cruel sounding laugh, unless he found something so funny that he couldn't breathe. And that happened enough. "Obviously it's causing some issues, bro," he told the boy. He smoked on occasion, but it seemed pointless to just sit around and do nothing all day. It was boring, and being high made him feel bored. There was nothing to keep him preoccupied. He wondered if it was better for other people, if they could find some entertainment in the feeling. "Touche," Yeager replied to him. His parents had had a conniption when they found out. Well, Lucas did. Richard just looked at him with that disappointed expression that really got to him. It wasn't the yelling and the lecturing, it was the subtle shake of the head and aversion of eyes. He couldn't take letting people down, and so there was embarrassment in having to redo this class. He would never make that known, however.
The Bahamas were pretty cool, and he liked to travel. Just to get out of this goddamn place, actually. "Yep, as usual." It wasn't uncommon for him to take trips, even in the school year. His parents liked travel, as well. Yeager shook his head, thinking of the old woman with her pure white hair. There was evil in her eyes whenever she looked at him, he could just see all the plans she had for him there. "Fuck no, she's a psychopath." He was only half-joking about that. Okay, she was pretty badass, but she was far from a good grandmother. It made him wonder at how she was raising little Lucas. It was funny thinking of her rearing someone as fickle and high-maintenance as him. Yeager sensed some tenseness in that relationship, like he didn't turn out the way she wanted him to. "You're gonna make me stretch this shirt, aren't you?" Instead of that, though, he pulled his arms out through the shirt. The sub wasn't here yet to admonish him, so he decided he could do whatever he wanted. He moved to show the indent where the BB had hit.
He touched the skin on his shoulder, grabbing at it to see if he could see it himself. The boy did not like scars, but he had quite a few from shenanigans he got up to in his childhood or Gloria. Usually the latter. "It stung like a bitch. Especially because it started bleeding after she dug it out of me." It had to be one of the most unpleasant feelings he'd ever experienced and he most certainly did not want to go through such a thing again. He pulled his shirt back down and scratched the back of his curly head when Heath asked after Gloria. "She's fine now. Arm's still in a cast. Freaked out on her, though, I mean who tries to fucking sled off the roof? Dumbass." It may have sounded like cruel words for such an innocent thing, but it had really scared him when he'd gotten the call. No one wants to hear that their kid sister's in the hospital.
Putting these two in a class together was possibly the greatest mistake anyone could make. They were bad enough alone. The people who put rosters together should look down and make sure that they were not put together for the reason they were being obnoxious dicks as of right now. Though the girls were also obnoxious. He tossed the ball over to Heath, laughing when the boy started to imitate a seagull, clutching his stomach. The girls glared at them, called them names, but of course the Waters went on unfazed. "Oh yes, this is going to be a great year," he said, pulling at his shirt to make sure that he did not actually stretch it any. He wasn't high-maintenance with anything else save for his clothes. "You ready for it?" Yeager felt prepared. Maybe he'd actually do shit this year, that would be a good idea. He never wanted to see that look on Richard's face again, after all. It was painful, and struck him in a rarely touched place.

Heath smiled at Yeager, ”Of course I am going to ask you, because if it were me you be doing the same thing.” Heath was laughing because it was true if it were vise verse Yeager would be trying to force Heath into showing the scar. Seconds later Yeager began to take his shirt off to show his scar on his shoulder. Heath looked at it amazed to see a BB do that much damaged. He raised his finger to touch it, and of course he pressed his finger in the scar because he was curious to how it felt. Laughing at the fact that Yeager said it stung like a bitch after his grandma dug it out just made Heath like Yeager even more as a friend. ”Dude of course it was going to hurt. Your grandma dug it out with a folding knife. Shoot if it were me I knew I would be in pain. That really did look like it hurt.” Heath said as he released his finger off the scar on his shoulder.
Heath was glad that Yeager’s sister was fine and that all she had done was get a cast for her arm. He did understand his reason for freaking out on her because when family does something beyond stupid we react more harshly. But Heath kind of liked what his sister did because it was something both Yeager and himself would do on a normal day. ”I’m glad she is okay, but I mean you got to admit that would be pretty fun thing to do. I don’t know why we didn’t think about it first. Think she has been hanging around us too much.” Heath said with a smile and laughed a bit. These two together are like putting football jocks together or cheerleaders together. They click with each other and have hang out with each other a lot.
Heath was still surprised to see one of his best friends with him in class. He knew that half the school students and even staff knew how much trouble these two would cause together. Putting them together in a class meant hell for the teacher Heath thought to himself. Heath wasn’t complaining though because he knew the class would be fun as hell now that his partner in crime is there with him. Of course few people called them names in the class but for some reason it just went passed them, not even caring about it. Heath seems to not care about things when he is around Yeager which helps a lot for Heath. The ball came at heath and he jumped off the desk to catch the water toy, ”Of course I’m ready for this year. I wonder how many times were going to get sent to the principal’s office?” He responded and then tossed the ball with his right hand at a wall to the right of him which would bounce off it and go toward Yeager himself. ”The question is are you ready for the rest of the year?” Heath spoke sternly toward Yeager as he pointed at him with his right finger.

Heath did speak the truth when he said that he'd be asking the same thing, too. Hell, Yeager would be yanking his shirt up to see for himself, than laughing his ass off at it. At least he spared the laughter until the older Water boy spoke. "You see, a normal family would have me sent to the hospital," he deadpanned. That would have been much preferred, a nice sterilized environment where he could have gotten a lollipop or some shit after. What had happened? Survival Man granny edition. "No, instead my parents let her whip out her handy dandy shank to wedge it out of me. And then put gauze and electrical tape over it." For a family with as much money as them, they sure were ghetto as fuck.
Heath was right about trying it themselves. They got into too much stupid shit for their own good, it was a miracle they were sitting here able to even talk about it at all. It must have been by some grace of god that they made it through with their history. "We should try it some time, just with more safety precautions. Sand bags and shit." Something big and bouncy waiting for them at the bottom. That would save them the trip to the hospital, because as much as Yeager would have preferred the hospital over his grandma, no one actually liked the places. "She's in high school now, too. I fear for her life. You know she's gonna fall in with the wrong crowd." And boys. Fucking, zit-faced, greasy-handed boys. His protective instincts were knocking on his skull and asking why he wasn't at her school now hovering over her.
The ball ricocheted off the wall and Yeager caught it in his hands once again, stopping in the play to focus on Heath for a moment. The headmaster's office was quite the nice place. He liked how he had a globe and everything in there. Real respectable. "Can't fucking wait. My parents are going to be breathing down my neck all this year." They were already ticked off about him having to retake a class, and if he got in any more trouble? He wondered if they were against skinning people or not. He couldn't be too sure, and that made him fearful. He threw the ball at Heath once again and said, "I don't know, man. It's fucking senior year, I don't want to deal with making decisions about college and that sort of shit. Like I'm not being pressured enough. It's a headache." He didn't like thinking about his future, that was just too much for him to even take.

Yeager made interest about doing the same thing but with a little more safety precautions. Which gave Heath the idea to do it right now. The sub had not been here for maybe 25 minutes and it seem like a waste for him to be stuck in a classroom with no teacher. Smirking over to Yeager, "Dude....let's do it now!" Heath was excited to do it right now and he knew Yeager would want to do it and wouldn't back down from the challenge but both of them knew if it wasn't safe they wouldn't try to do it. They were not dumb asses in doing stupid shit, they made sure that the stunts they pulled were safe enough that they could still live the next day. Watching Yeager talk about his sister he knew he was being very protective of her and knew he wanted to be at the school right now to look after her. Rolling his eyes backwards he gave a small chuckle, "Come on, she is in high school and should will make fine decisions. She won't fall into the wrong crowd, you and her family both raised her better than that." Heath was trying to make his friend fell better about himself and the situation with his sister.
Heath watched as Yeager paused with the throwing of the water toy, "Sounds like my parents now. Remember when you were a sophomore and I was a freshmen. I literally almost failed all my classes and my parents came to the school. Most embarrassing thing ever." Catching the ball he tossed it back to Yeager quickly because now Heath's attention span on the water toy was beginning to bore him a little. Yeager mention College and Heath felt the same way. Making decisions was not Heath's fortay but luckily for him he still has another year before that happens for him. To be honest Heath could care less about college all he really wanted to do was maybe get more involved with his elemental side. Maybe find out the history of the entire thing and maybe find a way to bring elementals and the normal humans together. It was something he didn't really talk about to anyone, he might have had spilled his thoughts to Yeager a few times when he was drunk one night. But that was because Heath never drank and he doesn't remember much that night either. Heath kept listening to Yeager as he walked outside to see if any sub was on his way and all he saw was a death valley of halls, no one in site. "We don't do anything on first day, lets ditch this class." He shouted out toward the class but mainly over to Yeager. Moving back over to Yeager he smiled, "But I mean Yeager you are a smart guy. Your parents are just looking out for you."

Yeager had to grin at his friend's enthusiasm. Of course Heath would be gung-ho about this, because it was completely reckless, stupid, and irresponsible. Just their cup of tea. "Whoa, calm down there, I just got held back in this class. Let's wait till after school so I don't become the school flunkie, aight?" He tended to skip classes as it were, but this is one class that he did not want to. Like Algebra. There would be no repeating this class again if he decided to dick around and not actually do his work. Yeager shook his head at his friend. "No, no, lemme amend that. She is the bad crowd. We're going to end up getting calls from parents who are wondering why their kids aren't home yet, and then I'm going to find her by the quarry with two cases of beer and a strobe light." The scenario was playing out in his head now. She was the girl that all the parents told you to stay away from. Not even his upstanding parents can do much for her. She was in control of her on life, and she was quite the opposite of controlled.
Yeager listened to Heath, his gaze focused. It was in moments like that when one could understand that he wasn't just some idiot skidding by and he actually had brains behind those eyes of his. "I remember that. At least your parents care enough to come in. I just got a firm whack over the head and some very mean words." Courtesy of Lucas, of course. He was the hands-on parents, literally at times. Even though his friend, Jacerian, was having some issues with domestic abuse, he did not consider his own parents abusive. They were great parents and he loved them. He knew when he was being bad and when his father' temper just got the best of him. He didn't hold it against them for long. He looked on as Heath went out to look, and shook his head. "You are a terrible influence. Probably going to make me fail this class again. You should be helping me, bro, not encouraging me to haul ass out of here." Especially since it was so tempting. He did not want to be here right now. "Plus, the sub takes roll. I'll have to hear it from the teacher whenever he gets back." And that'll just be more shit to deal with.
