The slight breeze picked up Nell's bangs, blinding her for a moment as she looked across the expanse of the grounds. Its size still managed to take her breath away, the fact that this world could stay hidden when it was so immense. The breeze died down, and she touched the back of her head, feeling her bun, trailing down to the tattoo on the back of her neck. Students scattered around, the area filled with sounds of attacks and conversations spoken loudly over those attacks. The Earth girl pulled her jacket further over her ears, popping the collar. It wasn't too cold, but her element didn't allow for much insulation, she didn't think. It was the beginning of the season when she wished Josh was perma-glued to her for the heat. He was probably perfectly fine walking around outside today, but she tried not to be bitter. She endured. Her jeans were warm, at least, and she wore thick socks today. She was a survivor, this temperature was nothing to her.
Nell turned her attention back to the boy who stood across from her, her expression calm. Einzbern. She wondered about them. Her father knew a lot more than she did, but he'd filled her in on some things. Apparently the Fuenteses and Einzberns had their own rivalry going on, and she wondered why herd father cared. It wad rather ironic. Now that she felt she needed her grandfather's assistance, she was more curious about her own family as well as the others. Especially the manor Kael lived in, so close to her father's own mansion, and Jane's as well. The thought of her chilled Nell more than the cold and she shifted her position, sliding her foot over. "Nice breeze, isn't it?" she called over to him, smirk playing at her lips.
Nell didn't look like she was a fighter, and there was a reason for that--she wasn't. Stading at five-foot-two, one hundred and ten pounds when wet, she was about ad intimidating as a leaf on the ground. But she was determined now, not to fight. She could never lay a hand on anyone else, only when she knew there was no other way. There were always gray areas. No, she was more concerned with defense. Even though they were supposed to be working on stamina, she was more focused on someone else. She smiled at Kael, beckoning with her finger. "Hit me with your best shot, Einzbern." Her attention focused, she stood perfectly still, waiting for whatever he'd throw at her.

"Nice breeze, isn't it?" "Hit me with your best shot, Einzbern."
It was a nice breeze indeed... Kael thought to himself as the words resonated through his mind, awaking him from his trance like state as he walked through the grounds. He hadn't been paying attention to his surroundings, but quite honestly wasn't surprised at the fact that this woman was standing before him now, seemingly goading him on to attack her. Nell Shepherd, an insignificant rat of the Earth element, but oh how she made his blood boil behind closed doors, a nuisance that had turned more into a constant annoyance for him while he was present at the academy. Out of respect for her father's lineage and their family ties, Kael had done an excellent job at restraining himself during his long stay at the Academy with this girl, even though their families were far from what would be considered 'friendly' now that his parents had moved back to Germany. Respect for her father aside, he had none for Nell, and had no desire to play her little game today.
"You wouldn't even be worth half my best shot, Ms. Shepherd. Don't waste my time today with your petty games." A habit he had picked up from his Grandfather and one he secretly thought might annoy Nell more than calling her by her first name, Kael had the tenancy to call people by their last names, regardless of age. He had stopped for a moment as he was talking to the girl, his hands plunged into his pockets and his teaching books underneath his left arm; he continued to walk toward her, a calm look on his face as the breeze picked back up and blew his bangs across his eyes. Although Nell was a year younger than him, he had never actually 'fought' with her at or outside of school, and he had always been interested in seeing what she was capable of. The fallout however outweighed his decision of acting, not only having to deal with the Earth elementals, but his own as well for starting trouble, and not to mention the traitor of the Fire elements, her fiance.
That man was someone he had been dying to fight, a man of pure lineage as himself, and someone he could truly prove the Einzbern family power against; if he had to use Nell as a catalyst to that end, it might have been worth it. Calmness flooded his mind at this thought, realizing that he had clinched his fists in his pockets and was beginning to emit subtle sparks of electricity from his fingers. "When are you going to grow up, Ms. Shepherd? I wouldn't say I thought you were better than provoking attacks and playing games, you are still a little girl. However I would venture to guess you might have gotten a little wiser in your years here. Run home to your boy toy." He smirked to himself as he stopped to await her reply, his back turned to her but his ears perked up for the sound of any movement or threat to himself. She doesn't know what she's getting herself into...

It seemed that Nell would always have trouble with the Thunder element. From the first war she'd been through to Rowena, it seemed she couldn't get along with them. The naive girl may have tried once, before she understood the alliances as well as she did now. It was people like Kael that had taught her better. Even though he was certainly antagonistic, she was simply having fun. This was a game. She loved games. And hey, they needed to get some practice in. Wouldn't the Thunder heir just love to throw a bolt or two in her direction? She clucked her tongue at the Thunder. "Testy, testy." But she was smiling, as if to prove his point about her games. Ms. Shepherd? She'd been called worse. She was more or less entertained by Kael's words, entire demeanor as breezy as the climate outside.
If Nell knew that Kael was using her to get at Josh, she'd have been rather irked. First Chase, now him. What made them think that her fiancé was fair game? Maybe it only helped the fact that she still felt guilty about his transition to the Earth and Water's side. It was his prerogative, she had to keep reminding herself. He made the choice, and where would she be if he hadn't? Nell didn't want to imagine it. He saved her life in many ways, an she didn't want to consider any other possibility in her timeline. Josh was a big part of her, and she'd be damned if she let anyone touch that.
Unaware as she was, she simply lifted her eyebrows as Kael spoke, arms crossed over her chest. She rocked back on her heels. "Grow up?" she questioned. It was almost funny, considering she had been forced to grow up too soon and she still didn't know whether she was a girl or a woman. "Excuse me for wanting a good grade." She didn't sound nearly as offended as her words suggested. Her gaze was still incredulous. "I suppose you mean Josh. No, I'm good here. Just wanted to see if my favorite Thunder elemental would balls up. I want to make daddy proud, after all." Did she? Her relationship with her father was too odd to actually consider anything like pride. This was just a part of her game.
