blame it on the television Chelsea left the house in a hurry at around two pm. There was no reason for her to be in a hurry, it wasn't like she was late for a class, or she was supposed to meet someone half an hour ago, she just kinda needed to get out of the house for a while. She needed space, a chance to breathe without any interruptions. Her iPod was plugged in, sending the music she loved into her ears. The blue haired female had no intentions of going anywhere - so instead she decided to roam the streets for a few hours just to calm down before going back home and doing whatever the hell she did there. Her parents probably wouldn't notice she'd left - if they did, they wouldn't even care. She sighed quietly to herself, stuffing her hands in the pockets of her cardigan, and pushed onward to nowhere. It was fairly warm out. The sun was brightly shining, and it was warm and felt nice on her pale white skin. There were quite a lot of people about for a Thursday afternoon. Maybe there just wasn't much to do on this particular day. The music was loud in her ears and it drowned out any sound from anywhere other than her iPod. Cars, people, everything. When listening to music, Chelsea always liked to make up little stories in her head to go with the song - usually involving herself as the main character. It was kinda sad, yes, but everyone did it. They just never admitted it or told anyone about it. The short, slender girl kept her eyes on the floor as she walked. She was a shy girl. She didn't really like to approach strangers, and she found eye contact awkward and difficult. To say she was of the thunder element, it wasn't really expected of her to be shy, but everyone is different. Some parts of Chelsea were very much thunder like. Her emotions could be quick to change - anger especially. She usually kept it all in though. She could be very self controlling until her disorder kicked in. That threw her off balance a lot. Song after song played as she went on, and time seemed to be moving more quick than it usually did. She wasn't exactly having fun, but music always did seem to pass the time, so she pinned it on that. She walked in a straight line. It was rare that anyone really crossed her path. They were all either on the other side of the pavement or on the other side of the road. The vibrant haired girl lifted her big brown eyes for the first time when she felt herself walk into someone. Already embarrassed and unsure what to do, she froze a moment before taking a step back. She hesitated before removing her earphones and looking meekly at the stranger she'd just hit. " Uh.. Um.. Sorry! I didn't mean to.. Are you alright?" It was at times like this when Chelsea just wanted to sink into the floor. She wasn't sure whether this person would be annoyed or completely okay with it. She was embarrassed enough as it was - so she would prefer not to be shouted at in the middle of the street. She cracked her fingers nervously whilst awkwardly waiting for her reply. OOC outfit. sorry if this doesn't make sense. i'm a bit tired xD i'll try and make my next post better <3 |

well i see your lips start moving, SPITTING OUT SOME KIND OF POISON THROUGH THEM SO C'MON, GIVE ME WHAT YOU GOT NOW, BIRDS Maybe it was the Spanish blood in her veins, the history of farmers and enduring conquistadors, that had Nell not particularly minding the hot weather. Her already lightly tanned skin was kind to her, as it tanned even better during the summer months. As an Earth elemental, however, she lamented the dying plants. As she walked past residences, a frown almost found its way to her lips when she laid eyes on the state of the lawns, yellow and cropped short. Nell wiped her fingers along the back of her neck as she walked to get rid of a sweat, for a moment contemplating the tattoo she planned to get there for her birthday in August. She had thought a lot about it, considering it was something she'd permanently mark her body with. But she knew how much she wanted it, how much she wanted the permanence of it.
Having got off from work a little while ago, she didn't exactly have a plan for what she wanted to do. She'd probably see if Josh was free, but she doubted it. He was always her top choice to spend time with, especially because they saw a lot less of each other nowadays. At least now that she sucked up the pride she apparently had and moved in with him they could see more of each other. She was also kept busy, even by school, even though it was out for the summer. She had papers and notes and books and she didn't consider it too overwhelming. It gave her something to do, even though she much preferred going outside to have fun. The sun was bright, and she was thankful she had her sunglasses to shield her large brown eyes, and she enjoyed rompers. Especially because she was lazy sometimes and it was easy to throw them on. Stuffing her hands in her pockets, she felt the messenger bag usually meant for schoolwork (and still containing it) bump against her thigh as she walked.
Just as she thought she should take out her phone and see if there was anyone who felt like hanging out, her phone vibrated in her bag and she pulled it out, stopping to read it. Before she could send a text back, she felt someone bump into her, and blinked when she saw the girl. She looked around her age, but that didn't count for much, considering Nell was both short and compact. Nell noted the headphones and smile brightly, "I'm fine, don't worry. Not a bump or bruise." She laughed breezily as she said this, always in a cheery mood no matter what. Then, as if suddenly noticing, she let out a soft gasp. "Your hair, it's awesome," she cooed, tugging on a strand. She hoped she didn't scare the girl or anything, she just kind of liked hair. A lot. She believed she was good with styling and the such, but she mainly just liked playing around with it. "How did you get it dyed like that?" She'd never seen the color, and she'd be interested to find out. Never mind the fact she was a complete stranger.

blame it on the television Chelsea didn't realise how tense she was until she sighed in relief and let her whole body relax. She was so glad that this girl wasn't one of those people who were constantly grumpy and got mad at everything and everything. Though relaxed, the blue haired girl still felt incredibly awkward, which resorted to her playing with her bright hair to make her feel like she wasn't just standing there looking like an idiot. She smiled shyly, not showing her teeth. " I'm glad I didn't annoy you or anything. I'm not really up to that today." Though a very demure girl, Chelsea did have a very bright, happy voice, unless she was changing it for another one of her personalities. Well.. Not personalities as such, but moods. Her moods changed a lot, and she couldn't control it, so she found herself in all kinds of situations, some where she was confident, and some where she was not and today, right now she was definitely not. Chelsea got incredibly self concious upon hearing the girl gasp. What? What was wrong? Was there something on her face? Oh. Her hair, of course. She was so used to it being so bright with many different colours, she was never shocked at it any more, so she could never remember that some other people weren't used to these kind of hair colours. Over the summer break, Chelsea had dyed her hair blue, and she was loving it. Blue was one of her favourite colours, and she really liked the way it went with her white skin. She smiled in appreciation at the compliment, " Thank you," She said, flashing her teeth in a grin for a moment. As always; receive a compliment, give a compliment. " And you're really pretty." It was kind of weak, but she didn't want to come across as weird, or a lesbian. Some people really liked those kind of compliments though, and she was sure that this girl wasn't vain, and would accept the compliment, or even deny it. Chelsea's compliment was the truth though. She wouldn't lie. " Um," she began, racking her brain through all of her old hair colours, " well, my natural hair colour's dark brown, but I've had it all kinda of colours since I was thirteen. Blonde, blue, purple, pink, black, red.. Anything you think of, I've probably had it." She smiled, " I'm not really sure how it got to this blue, I just kinda dyed it over my last one." She shrugged, watching the stranger play with her hair. It was kind of weird, but she wasn't scared. She'd be a lot more afraid if she was a guy, and was a lot older, but for now, she was kind of okay with it. The girl was obviously harmless, and genuinely nice. " Uh, I'm Chelsea by the way, it's nice to meet you," she introduced herself, laughing a little bit, " Are you uh.. Gifted?" OOC outfit. this is awfully short dkjfgsh |

well i see your lips start moving, SPITTING OUT SOME KIND OF POISON THROUGH THEM SO C'MON, GIVE ME WHAT YOU GOT NOW, BIRDS The girl reminded her of a little sprite or a fairy from old dusty books she used to avoid reading in her childhood for the fact that she needed to know more about genetics and blood diseases and if your sister dies, where does that leave you? Nell almost wanted to ask the girl about mushroom circles and aversions to iron, and then reminded herself that she didn't know her. Miss Blue-haired fairy may not have been appreciative at random shifts in subjects in this little bumping into. Heck, she might even want to get on her way. "Pff, don't worry, I'm not up for throwing down with strangers today myself," Nell joked, but that went for every day. She wasn't confrontational whatsoever. If this were New York, it may have been different. She sometimes wondered how she hailed from a place like that when she herself had the temperament of a sloth.
Nell was never good at accepting compliments. There was always that stunned moment, and then the blushing and stammering like an inept child standing up to give a presentation speech to the class. "T-thank you," she said, running her fingernails up and down underneath the clip that held up her hair. She didn't come off as being unappreciative, simply a little flustered. Even still she got that way when receiving a compliment from Josh, and sometimes she wondered if he ever did it on purpose. Nell listened while she described her hair adventures, eyes wide as she wondered how someone could go through so many colors in their lifetime. "Have you ever done it like...multiple colors at once? Then you would look like a...a rainbow or something. Be pretty cool." she questioned, letting the girl's hair fall back in place as she didn't want to get it all greasy with her fingertips. She just had a little interest in hair, but then again she had an interest in everything.
Nell moved her head slightly as the sun found a gap in the space between her sunglasses and her face to stream through, and she shifted her feet slightly, hands in her pocket. She tried not to think about the fact that around this place, she had held her friend in her arms as he died. But she couldn't stop that memory whenever she saw where the car had almost run her down, the glass in her skin, the smell of burnt tarmac, sirens... "Nell," she introduced, no more paranoia coming with her name. People had long since moved on from the trial, so that her name wasn't as recognizable as it had been in the winter. People found other things to latch onto. Her laugh was chiming when she said, "Do I seem that intelligent? Really, I'm glad I give off that kind of air." Less facetiously, now curious about what Chelsea could have meant, she mentioned, "I do go to the Academy. Where do you go to school?" Saying that you went to the school up in the hills meant you were gifted, but mortals didn't know how. She automatically assumed that this girl was a mortal.
