"Shit!"
Ashton did not curse very often, not even the lightest of expletives, and so the loud exclamation from the Earth elemental by the waters edge was a clear indication that something was wrong. He stared into the snowbank as if it had done him a great wrong, and to Ashton it had. He had been entrusted with the care of his friend's silver ring, a gift to her from her grandmother. Noticing that the lake seemed to have thawed he'd gone over to check it out and had been absent-mindedly passing the object from hand to hand. Then he'd dropped it. Oh no. This is bad. At least if he'd dropped it into the actual water, which was a few feet from where he was standing, he'd have been able to see through to the bottom and catch a gleam of the silver. The snowbank before him seemed large and intimidating, like it was daring him to play a game of find-the-needle-in-the-haystack. He'd never had a very sharp eye for finding things and he wasn't even wearing gloves. Still, the ring belonged to a friend. It wasn't his, so much as he'd have liked to give it up for lost he knelt down in the snow beside the hilly protrusion and started his search.
Five minutes later, hands absolutely blue with the cold, Ashton groaned and straightened up. He was shivering and he could barely feel his fingers. The cold was actually painful and he felt that he was no closer to finding the ring than he had been five minutes previously. What was worse, he thought he might have accidentally buried it further by all his frantic digging. His friend was going to kill him! He wasn't sure whether or not he should call her and own up to his mistake, maybe enlist her help in finding it so that they could get the job done quicker, or just stay here until he either expired from frostbite or recovered the thing. He was an honest person and he didn't feel comfortable lying to anyone but he was also scared that she'd never trust him again if she knew how reckless he'd been with such a prized possession. I'm such an idiot sometimes. Ashton's self-confidence wasn't absolutely shot but it was easily diminished when it came to things like this. He felt legitimately bad for what he'd done and every second that passed without his finding it felt like it was mocking him.
Abandoning all pretence, he spotted someone else out enjoying—or perhaps resenting?—the snowscape. "Um, excuse me?" He rubbed the back of his neck, a little sheepish. He wasn't sure exactly where he'd dropped the ring and decided to ask whether or not she might have seen while she was out doing whatever it was she'd been doing before he interrupted. His tone was slightly apologetic, worrying that he might be disturbing her in some way. "You wouldn't happen to have seen a silver ring around here, would you have? It's my friend's and I, uh, I dropped it." He ducked his head when he admitted his mistake, knowing how stupid it made him sound. Losing your own possessions was alright but losing something that belonged to someone else was not quite as acceptable. "I can't seem to find it anywhere." He did not know the girl by name or face but thought that she might be older than him. He couldn't tell by how much. Nevertheless, Ashton was a friendly person and he stuck out his hand with a smile. "I'm Ashton, by the way."
[You have my permission for her to find the ring if you want, or not, I just wanted some way to bring them together ^^]

Outfit
Allison had been wandering through the gardens all morning listening to her mp3 while taking scenic white snow filled shots on her camera. She laughed gently as she hummed to the music on her mp3 player while listening to the sounds of her surroundings thanks to only having one ear piece in. She zipped open her black shoulder bag and pulled out a pair of black gloves and slid them on to keep her slim hands and fingers warm. Ally laughed loudly gently as she slid slightly down a little slope. It was then that she turned around and brushed a pile of snow off a nearby step but turning back around and sitting on the step. It was days like this that Allison loved best. The cold winters day with plenty of snow that made an absolutely beautiful landscape. She carried on taking a few more snapshots before placing the front cap on the camera once she turned it off then placed it inside her black shoulder bag. She sighed as she also turned off her mp3 pulling the one earpiece out of her ear before placing that also in her bag. She smiled as took in the fresh winter’s air and listened to the sounds of the other children laughing, running and playing in the snow. She smiled as she brushed some fresh falling snow off of her grey faded jeans and brown heeled boots.
It was then that she saw something shiny fall into the snow bank just beside her. It was then that she stood up to check it out. It was then that Ally heard someone speak. She turned gently to look at the guy speaking to her which caused her long straight black hair to twirl ever so gently. She looked at the guy in front of her and smiled gently a little nervous and cautious. She had never met this guy before but he seemed nice enough maybe a couple of years younger by the looks of things. She smiled and nodded when once he got her attention. She gave a gentle smile as he rubbed the back of his neck looking slightly shy. She listened to his gentle voice as he asked a question and she nodded and spoke. ”I might have seen it actually. I saw something shiny drop a minute ago out of the corner of my eye.” She laughed gently as she pulled her brown furry collared coat around over her blue smurf jumper. ” Give me a Second” Ally walked quickly a few seconds back to the step she was sitting at.
It was right down beside the step in a pile of snow that she saw the little round hole in which she saw the ring drop. She smiled gently as she removed one glove reaching down into the hole of the snow to grab the ring before turning back to the guy to hand it back to him. She smiled a gentle smile as she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear before placing the silver ring in his palm. ”Is this the ring you was looking for? I knew I saw something shiny.” The boy still looked a little shy before Ally spoke again. ”Don’t worry. I lose things all the time and the majority of it doesn’t belong to me at all. Half of it is things I’ve borrowed from friends.” She smiled as he stuck out his hand to introduce himself, so it was only polite to place her hand in his and shook it gently to introduce herself. ”Nice to meet you Ashton, my names Allison.”

Ashton felt hopeful when the girl said that she might have seen something, not having expected the shot in the dark to pay off. He was friendly enough and thankfully not shy, so it had been no real hassle to ask, it was more the fact that he wasn't expecting an answer. Most people would not have noticed something as trivial as a ring dropped in the snow when they were going about their business and so he was thankful it was she who shared the grounds with him right now, even if he didn't know her name. "Oh, jeez, yes, thank you!" Ashton's relief was evident in his tone as he laughed weakly and accepted the ring back into his own hands. "You're a life saver!" The figure of speech might even have been literal, depending on just how angry his friend would have been if he'd returned without it. She was a Water elemental and so not as calm and complacent in personality as the Earths usually were. Not that an Earth wouldn't have the desire to hurt someone if they lost something so precious, it would probably just be a fleeting thing and one that wasn't acted upon. He'd felt rather upset with Asha when she'd broken his heart but it had not lasted. It was as if the anger retention of an Earth elemental was non-existent.
It was reassuring to hear that he was not the only one who was prone to dropping things. A more suspicious person might have assumed she was just making it up to placate him but Ashton believed it instantly and smiled. "Good to know that I'm not alone." He hated feeling alone or ostracised. Ashton had always revelled in the feeling of being part of a group. When he was out with friends he deemed it 'the more the merrier' and he hardly ever went to the movies unless he could find someone that wanted to tag alone. He did not actually fear loneliness to the point where he'd become desperate, merely did not desire it. He was not a solitary creature. He often wondered why it was that he was not a Water but then reminded himself that their spunkiness was one thing he did not possess. He could be convinced to tag along with a prank if his friends wanted him to but he would never be the sort to initiate one. "Allison," he repeated, smiling. It was a nice name, one that he found he quite liked. "Nice to meet you, too." It was genuine, as everything with Ash tended to be. He was about as shifty as a brick wall. Honesty was a strong quality.
Now that his general embarrassment was over with and he could focus on something other than the fact that his friend would want him skinned, his normal and extroverted personality could flourish. "What were you up to?" He hoped that he hadn't interrupted anything important. She didn't look like she'd been up to extremely important practices but you never knew. He figured he would ask both to make sure he hadn't been a bother and because he was generally curious. His personality sometimes drove others back with just how chipper he could be but fellow social butterflies tended to click well with him. He thought perhaps his friendliness was a reason he'd been chosen as a leader. He was so fond of people in general that they tended to respect and trust him—not that it was a bad thing. Ashton was a reliable person. A secret told to him would remain a secret. After checking to make sure that the ring was alright (it was, just freezing from the snow) he put it back into his pocket and pulled the zip across to lock it in. It was not getting lost again, no way. He resolved to keep things like that in safe places from now on.
