Serina sat on one of the beds staring out the window. To her, today was beautiful; the sun was out, occasionally hiding behind white clouds and it wasn’t as cold as it had been in the past several days…and Serina was stuck inside. She wanted to go outside and walk along the lakeside and watch the clouds go by, but of course today was not her day. She had to stay inside: nurses orders.
Serina had woken up fine but it hadn’t even pasted 10 o’clock when she started to fell a little off. It started with her feeling dizzy, then nauseous. Serina didn’t want the other students to see her sick so she left and walked down some of the corridors hoping that it would help…it didn’t. Serina had slumped to the ground. So she came here. The nurse was nice, but she was also a little strict. She wasn’t happy that Serina hadn’t come down when she first started feeling unwell. To Serina, the nurse worried too much.
Serina kicked her legs back and fourth. They just barely skimmed the ground. The nurse had given Serina some medicine, hopefully to help. It was making Serina dizzy. She debated laying down, but she had a tendency to fall into deep sleeps after taking medicine, especially if that medicine wasn’t making her feel better. The nurse hadn’t returned either. She had said she’d be right back to check on Serina but that had been half an hour ago. Serina wasn’t happy. She wanted to leave…and to feel better.
“Tabun kanojo wa machigatta kusuri o shiyô shi…” Getting the wrong type of medicine was always something that Serina was paranoid of, but no one would let her keep her medicine with her. ‘Too strong’ is what they would say.
Serina had enough; the room was hot and stuffy. Serina couldn’t decide whether she would open the door and see if she could find the nurse but she was sick of just sitting around waiting. She jumped off the bed…and fell over. She slumped against the bed. “Warui Kangae.” Serina muttered. She tried to lift herself up but she couldn’t she didn’t seem to have enough strength. She knew why. Serina had been really sick during Christmas break and she wasn’t completely healed. She was thankful to be wearing her jacket because you would see her bones otherwise. “Darekaga watashi o tasukeru koto ga gekimasu ka? Help?” Serina’s voice wasn’t loud as she leaned against the bed..
{OOC} Tabun kanojo wa machigatta kusuri o shiyô shi... = maybe she gave me the wrong medicine Warui kangae. = bad idea Darekaga watashi o tasukeru koto ga dekimasu ka? = can somebody help me?

Ashley came into the medical wing soaking wet, freezing and miserable. "I will cut a bitch I swear i will!" She muttered to herself as she took a seat in a free bed. Ash was wearing a low cut red blouse and a jean skirt. Not the most appropriate thing to be wearing in weather like this, but she wasn't expecting to get jumped by a group of waters on her way back to the castle. Her bare skin was dark red, almost purple from the attack and her hair looked like a Popsicle with icicles covering it. Her skin was also starting to blister, it burned in the bad way. She looked around impatiently for the nurse or any kind of useful human to help her. There was no nurse or any adults for that matter. Looking around the place was virtually empty aside from some wind students in the back probably faking illness to get out of class and the small girl on the ground beside her. The emptiness was no surprise however with the party the night before. Ash expected everyone who was anyone with the fires or thunders would be missing class hungover or still passed out in the house like she had been no more then a few hours ago.
Ash lit a smoke to try and relieve some of the tension she had built up, at this point anything could set her off and going off on the nurse or a teacher would be a bad idea. She looked at the girl on the ground and figured it was best not to ask. It's not like she cared anyway. Ash got about halfway through her smoke when the nurse came in. All she did was glare at Ash to get her to roll her eyes and put out the cigarette. The nurse also got rid of the winds in the back. They put up a bit of a fight with their fake coughing and slow movements, honestly they were probably high. It was amusing for Ashley watching them stumble begging to stay. It was just proof how sad some of the other elements were, She had been here less then a month but had quickly learned the ropes and built an ego to match what she felt was needed to survive around here. The nurse glared at Ash once more before disappearing herself leaving the two girls completely alone.
The girl on the ground looked small, cute but weak. Ash almost felt a little sorry for her. A few minute passed before Ash felt confidant enough to take out another smoke, lighting it again with her own fire she reached her arm down to the level of the girl on the floor offering her what was in the box. It was true that Ash had no idea what element she was, who she sided with or what her name was. It was also true she didn't particularly care. It was just a smoke to break an awkward silence.

Serina watched the girl walk in and sit beside her. Serina wondered what she said. She was soaking wet and looked like she was in a lot of pain. Of course what the girl was wearing wasn’t helping her. Serina felt like the girl need some help, like a blanket but of course, the nurse was still gone. Serina tried again to get up but failed (again). “ Sumimasen. Anata ga tasuke o shite itadakemasu ka?” Serina said quietly. She smiled a little when the girl looked but the girl just turned away. Did she not hear me?
“Umm…” Serina stopped mid sentence. The nurse had returned. Serina watched the nurse glare at her…no, the girl, and then lead all of the airs out. She didn’t see Serina. Serina let out a sigh. It doesn’t seem like she was willing to help the girl either. Maybe this girl did something to anger the nurse, but what?
When the girl reached down with the box, Serina just stared. It took a moment for her to realize what they were: cigarettes. Serina watched the girl light her own cigarette, but she didn’t see a lighter. She must be fire. She doesn’t look very nice. Serina finally noticed the smell of the cigarette and she choked, coughing heavily. She covered her mouth, not wanting to be rude. Serina felt a little dizzy again. She didn’t want to breath in the smoke. Serina shook her head slowly, then a little faster. She couldn’t have cigarettes. That’s what the girl did to anger the nurse!
“ Îe, watashi wa sorera o motsu koto wa dekimasen.,” Serina paused, “No thank you.” She waited. If she were in the girl’s position, Serina would ask if she need help, but she isn’t. “Umm...may you please help me up. I can not lift myself up.” Serina’s speech was littered with mispronunciations and slurs. She was still having trouble with English. On the bright side, she was getting better, and most of her words should be understandable. Serina hoped that the girl understood what she said, because Serina really need the help. She was starting to feel faint again, probably from the cigarette smoke.
“Umm…” Serina was about to ask the girl to get rid of the cigarette but decided against it. She didn’t want to be rude. After all, she was asking this girl for help. So she decided to ask a different question: “What were you saying when you first entered the room?”
{OOC} Sumimasen. Anata ga tasuke o shite itadakemasu ka? = Excuse me. Can you help me? Îe, watashi wa sorera o motsu koto wa dekimasen. = no I can’t have those

Ashley was quite comfortable in the hospital bed. It was quiet and she could warm up in peace. The nurse probably wouldn't be back for a good long time and Ash was in no rush to get to class. She inhaled the smoke, a deep breath but her silence was interrupted by coughing from below. The fragile looking girl couldn't handle the smoke. Aww poor muffin She let out a smirk to herself, fragile little girl can't handle a little smoke That action alone made it clear that she wasn't a fire. This girl wouldn't be able to manage two seconds in the fire dorms. they were always over heated and wreaked of smoke and alcohol. This considering she was probably a water or earth. Ash took her packs back and stuffed them in her bra that was stuffed already.
Ash listened to the girls poor English Ash smiled. She may be a bitch but she wasn't a monster. "Sure, how did you end up down there anyway?" Ashley got up and extended her hand to the girl. It's true she was asking to be polite but she was actually a bit curious. She didn't plan on putting out the smoke though even if it did bother the girl. Ash was not the type to bend over backwards. Ashley laughed at her last question. "I was commenting on how if the waters don't back the hell off I'll tear them a new one. I'm Ashley by the way, but you can call me Ash." Ash for some reason felt drawn to this girl more then others at the school. She had the strong urge to not be an ass. She was cute, a virgin in every sense of the word which made her a bit boring but different. Ash could mold her into an image of true negativity. She laughed at herself, the waters would be all over her ass way to fast. Like she would really make time between parties and sleep for someone of the enemy team, even now that the war was over only someone looking for trouble would mingle like that.

Serina smiled brightly when the girl agreed to help her. Maybe she didn’t seem like such a bad girl after all. In fact she seemed nice, despite her bad habit. Though, there was something about this girl that made Serina nervous. She couldn’t say what it was, just something about her demeanor. Serina grabbed the girl’s hand, cautiously, pulling it away once. She tried to just use it as support to get up but that didn’t work. “Oh, I, umm…I fell.” Serina felt so embarrassed saying that, but she wasn’t going to lie. “I wanted to open the window. When I stand up, I fell down.” Serina quickly threw her hand over her mouth. That wasn’t right. She said that wrong. She couldn’t figure out what she said wrong though. Oh…my English is a failure. “Â... Watashi wa futatabi dainashi ni. Watashi wa machigatte iru. Watashi... watashi... naze watashi wa tekisetsu ni eigo o hanasu koto ga dekinai nodesu ka?” Serina spouts off really quickly. She looks at the girl for an answer but realizes the girl wouldn’t understand a word she just said. “I am sorry.”
Serina listened to the girl’s response, she knew the words, but she just couldn’t piece the sentence together in her head. “I don’t understand” Serina said, adding “Ashley-san. Can you repeat that?” Serina suddenly felt a wave of light-headedness. She leaned against the girls arm. She closed her eyes and tried to focus on breathing. Serina could feel something was wrong.
{OOC} It’s short, I know. I’m sorry. Â... = oh Watashi wa futatabi dainashi ni. = I messed up again Watashi wa machigatte iru. = I said that wrong Watashi... watashi... naze watashi wa tekisetsu ni eigo o hanasu koto ga dekinai nodesu ka? = Why can’t I speak English properly

Ashley couldn't help but smile at the girls innocence. Every word, English or not was pure. The only other time Ash had only seen this kind of since purity was with the children she had worked with. She seemed physically weak like them as well, helpless and dependent on Ash which she liked. Helping her to her feet she asked "Why did you fall over? Are you sick or something?" Ash was shocked at the tone of her own voice, it hinted emotion, she tried to shake herself out of it. The sad truth was, as bitter as she acted she was still new to the academy and scared. She even allowed her self think for a split second that the girls could be friends. Ash took a step back stopping herself, She couldn't allow that to happen. One friendship with a cute girl was not worth losing the trust of the fires.
"So you're from japan? I can catch words of what you're saying. It would be a lie to say I've never seen anime before." She let out a soft smile "And you mean to say when I stood up, I fell down, stand is present and stood is past tense. Ash could here voices and footsteps from out the hall. It could be a teacher or student but this niceness needed to stop. "Oh sorry I'll break it down for you" Ash said referring to what she had said about waters not trying to sound rude but was aware it probably came off as such. "If the waters don't leave me alone, and stop attacking me I'm going to attack them and make them pay. Do you get that?" She tried to give the girl a look to inform her that she shouldn't need the simplest things explained.
The foot steps in the hall had gone for the most part, so had the voices when the younger girl swayed and leaned into Ashley's arms. Almost if naturally Ashley held her, not aggressively or strongly but she acted as a support for the girl. Ash felt strangely comfortable, she got butterflies in her stomach that made her frown. "here hun, I'll help you sit down." Ash whispered the words into her ear and helped her step back to her bed.

Serina shook her head violently. “I not sick,” she exclaimed, then added under her breath, “not any more sick then I am normally.” She was normally sick so this type of thing was usual for her, she didn’t true want to admit that this might be a little off from normal though. Serina hated being sick, more than anyone she knew. Serina lit up when Ashley mentioned she knew Japanese. “ Anata ga nihongo o hanasu koto ga dekimasu ka? Ashley-san, odorokubeki kotoda. Watashi wa eigo ga son'nani warukunaidesu.” Serina was so exited that someone else knew Japanese. No one had ever mentioned it. Serina couldn’t help but smile. “Watakushiha to nihongo o hanaseru koto ga dekiru darekaga sonzai suru koto o ureshiku omoimasu.” But when Serina looked, Ashley’s face was not one of understanding. Maybe I spoke too fast? Serina decided that, even though Ashley said she can speak Japanese, Serina would still speak in her broken English. She needed to, if she wanted to learn.
To Serina both words meant the same: stood and stand; and they both had hard noises. “English is hard. I will never be good.” Why does there have to be tenses that difficult? Why can’t they be simpler? Why can’t English be simpler? Serina however was thankful for the advice…hopefully she won’t make that mistake again. “Arigatô Ashley-san.”
Serina listened closely to what Ashley was saying about the waters. Serina broke it down further in her head. The waters are being mean? To Serina that didn’t make sense. The waters are all nice to her…though she’s a water herself. Serina quickly shook that off. She didn’t want enemies, and besides, Serina figured it was only a few waters, that the rest of them were all nice. Serina showed no hints that she was bothered by Ashley’s comments. “Why are they bothering you?” Serina was honestly curious.
When Serina fell, she knew she scared Ashley, not that it was anything to worry over, at least not something Serina did. However, she was feeling awful, like the medicine had worn off, even though it had only been an hour. Ashley was holding Serina nicely, she felt comfortable. Her voice was soft too. She really is nice. She’s not mean at all. “Arigatô. I am sorry. It is not normally like this.” Serina leaned into Ashley more. She was glad that Ashley was here. She was not only helping her but she was being really sweet about it.
Serina sat up a little and put her hand on her forehead. She made sure she was fairly balanced before asking Ashley, “Can you please get me my medicine. It is in that cabinet over there. In the one that the nurse left unlocked.” Serina smiled, she wanted to blow her feeling sick off, so that Ashley wouldn’t have to worry, because, even if she tried to deny it, she was.
{OOC} Anata ga nihongo o hanasu koto ga dekimasu ka? = You can speak Japanese? Josh enjoyed the atmosphere of the Medical Wing, at least when he was not there as a patient. It could strike up a little paranoia in the wintertime with a lot of students in for the cold and flu but he'd already been vaccinated against the latter and wasn't too fearful of a mere cold anyway. Growing up with a doctor as a father and wanting to follow in his footsteps some day, he hung around the Wing to offer help to the nurses when they were short of staff and to get some real-world experience in the career he aspired to obtain in the future. He wasn't in medical school quite yet, merely taking all the courses required for pre-med, so he couldn't secure a job as an actual intern at the hospital in Maple Hollow. His father could and would probably pull strings for him as needed but Josh had always been stubborn in his belief that he could do it the right way. What was the point of getting a job by bribing others or sneaking your way in? He didn't like that sort of dishonesty and had seen what happened if you took it too far—Nell had been fired thanks to her deception. He didn't want to cut himself off from a career as a doctor and so he figured he'd take the long way around.
"What's wrong, Josh? Are you feeling ill?" He gave a start and was pulled forcefully from the depths of his thoughts when someone nearby spoke to him. His gray eyes found one of the younger nurses staring at him in concern. A few of the staff had come down with sickness and so he understood both why they were short-staffed and why she was so concerned about it happening to anyone else. "I'm fine," he assured her, lips twitching into a brief smile. "Just thinking." She seemed to consider this for a moment before nodding and rushing off to treat a student who'd sprained their ankle when they'd slipped on the ice outside. He made his way over to a Wind elemental sporting a burn, palms pulsing with a reddish glow for a moment as he passed his hand over the injury. The ninth grader seemed confused—likely wondering why Josh was helping him when one of his fellow Fires had just torched him. Poor new kids don't get the politics of this place just yet. Ah well. "It might sting a bit for the next few days but there'll be no scarring," he recited the usual words. "Put some ice on if it does. You can go."
After washing his hands and glancing around to see if anything was amiss, he found that everyone seemed to be occupied with something or other. There was nothing much for him to do in the area he was in and so he wandered into another part of the Wing for a moment to pass the time until there was. He didn't come down this way much but that did not mean that he was not allowed to, merely that the nurses usually had it covered. Two of them that worked here regularly were off sick, though, so he figured it couldn't hurt to hang about for a while. He was not expecting to run into anyone familiar—he'd not heard anything about his friends coming down with illnesses and that's what it seemed the majority of students (though not all) had. Then again, the familiar face that he did see was not one of a friend. He happened to catch the last words of the conversation and arched an eyebrow, wary. "I have a feeling that she wouldn't have left it unlocked intentionally," he said a bit loudly to get their attention, as he was on the far side of the room. His tone was not cutting but he was curious as to why the girl wanted medication that should be locked away. "And it would be breaking rules if you got it for her," he pointed out to Ashley in a rather blasé tone. It crossed his mind that he might have looked like he was rule-breaking as well, sneaking around the back rooms, but he didn't care what they thought about him.
Then again, on closer inspection the younger of the two did look rather ill. He didn't really want to get involved in any situation involving the Fire elemental whom he'd clashed with previously but that familiar desire to help out made him linger. He didn't usually care for strangers on an empathetic, emotional level, but it was a lot different when you got medicine involved. Admittedly, Joshua had grown up listening to success stories told by his father and envied the man's abilities. He wanted that for himself. "When did she last come by?" he asked in spite of himself. "Didn't she give you anything then? You don't look so good."
[Me told me to jump in now, so I did xD]

Ashley helped the girl down and listened to her speak. She considered prying about her sickness but decided against it since she wasn't suppose to care, not to mention it was none of her business. Ash was able to pick up bits and peaces of what the girl had said but she was talking too fast to get it all. Ash knew where Serina was coming from with believeing she would never be good at english. Some things come naturally but others not as much. Her powers were one of those things, that was part of the reason being attacked ended so poorly. There isn't much she could do but run. Ashley wasn't sure how to answer the girl's question. Elements just don't get along with each other and sometimes with themselves "Well, Since all of the groups are so different, personalities clash. The fires and waters don't see eye to eye so they fight a lot. That's all, it's really not a big deal." This was a lie of course. The rivalries at the school were very serious. True there was normally little reason to fight but real damage was done. This, however was not what she wanted to tell the new sick girl. She would figure it out on her own in time.
Ashley looked over at the open cabinet. It was true it was probably unlocked and no one was around to notice but she still hesitated. Was Serina really worth getting in trouble over? Before She could do anything however a horribly familiar noise came from behind them. Ash slowly turned around rolling her eyes. Honestly she was relieved to see him. Things were getting weird with the girl and the last thing Ash needed was a stupid crush on a ninth grader from the enemy team. Of course she couldn't let him know that she was relieved. That wouldn't be nearly over dramatic enough. "You can't be serious. Every time I think I'm safe you show up! What is with that? Can't you just go some where far away from here, or at least me? Just, do us both a favor and turn around. OK?" Ash knew she was being mildly immature to say the least and that it wouldn't work. Either way she wasn't as anxious now so she could go back to being her bitter self. She tried to ignore the man but his voice was like a small pin going into her head. Ashley was one of those people that blew things way out of proportion. She probably shouldn't be nearly this aggressive towards him but she had fun trying to make his life more challenging and that was enough motivation for her.
She listened to him talk to the water and completely ignore the fact that she looked like a frozen corps, not that she expected him to care. Ash decided to sit back and watch. She couldn't risk getting closer with her new friend. It just wasn't worth it, the last thing she wanted to do was end up a traitor like josh.

Serina rubbed her temple, which seemed to be making the pain go away, at least for that moment. I’m not getting sick, I’m not getting sick. This isn’t the worst headache she’s had…in fact, it’s actually one of the tamer ones, but they hurt none the less. In fact, Serina wouldn’t even call herself sick, just lack of medicine. She noticed Ashley’s hesitation to go to the cabinet. Maybe asking was a bad idea…pointed out by the new voice. The boy scared Serina and it took her a moment to catch her breath. She looked at him and it was obvious he was much older than both Serina and Ashley…and apparently knew Ashley.
Serina was about to clear up the confusion when Ashley started freaking out. Yes her medicine is locked away, but it’s incontinent and the nurse who normally treats Serina doesn’t mind if Serina goes in as long as she sees her. Today’s nurse isn’t as nice. Serina watched Ashley as she told the boy to leave, but it didn’t seem like he was going anywhere. She doesn’t like him? Maybe…
“Umm…I hope you do not mind me asking...but are you water?” Serina asked in her broken English. She feels that maybe she can get to know someone from her own element. After all, her logic is fairly sound: Ashley dislikes waters and obviously dislikes this guy…so he must be a water. However, Serina immediately regretted asking, but she couldn’t take her words back. Why do these things just come out of my mouth?
Serina is shocked when the boy asks if she’s okay. The nurse doesn’t seem to see Serina as top priority and Ashley hasn’t asked at all.
“The nurse was here ten minutes ago but she left. She left with air students. She didn’t see me and she was mad at Ashley-san.” Not that Serina minded that much. She preferred getting her own medicine. “Ummm…the nurse that is here…she is not the nurse that I normally see…I don’t think I got the right medicine.” Suddenly, Serina felt nervous…what if the nurse DID get it wrong? What should I do? “May you please take a look in the cupboard then…my medicines are the ones with Japanese labels.”
None of Serina’s medicine would be bad if she took out of order but with fifteen different bottles all in a foreign language, it’s easy to get confused. Her doctor in Japan was sending her medical information to the nearest hospital so, when she needed a refill all the labels would be in English.
Serina looked at Ashley who had moved away slightly. ”and you don’t like each other but can you make sure Ashley-san is okay too? I think she got attacked.” Serina wanted to help Ashley and since this boy sounded like he knew what he was doing, she figured he should help too.

Joshua was unphased by Ashley's minor freak-out, not having expected it but taking it in stride nonetheless. They didn't get along and so he hadn't expected her to come up and start being all friendly. Besides, he was a little more concerned with the sick elemental in the room. She looked as pale as a sheet and he wondered briefly what it was that she had, also hoping that it wasn't too contagious. Josh would not run from the room with his mouth covered, wouldn't show any sign that he was worried about catching anything, but it was a thought that crossed his mind. Donovan had always remarked on things like that when Josh was a child and they would go somewhere. "That man didn't cover his mouth, he'll give us all what he's got" or "I wonder why she keeps sniffling? It might not be allergies, Joshua, stay over here." He was not a germaphobe or paranoid, though, so he would do his best to help her out if he could. If he got sick, well, it was part of life. "No, I don't think I will," he said. "I have every right to be here."
He blinked at the question asked by the sick elemental, a little caught off guard and confused by it. "Fire," he corrected. "What made you think I was Water?" That was a first. He didn't think anyone had pegged him as a Water elemental before. Thunder, yes, when he was in one of his quiet and solitary moods, Wind a few times, but never one of his enemy elements. Well, allied elements now. Even though he was used to it by now, it took a lot of effort to undo six or so years of being allied with Fire and Thunder. Then she was answering his questions and he almost chuckled. Ashley-san? So her name is Ashley? He glanced at the Fire elemental in question and smirked, fully aware that she might have noticed this as well. He didn't really care about the fact that he knew her name now.
Instant alarm bells went off in his head when she mentioned that she might have been given the wrong medication. He knew that it had the potential to be very dangerous and felt a slight bit of panic but it did not show on his face or in his gray eyes. "How sure are you?" he asked calmly. "Can you remember what it was that she gave you, or do you know what it is that you have?" He knew that certain medications should not be mixed and that giving someone something different to what they needed could carry a high risk. It seemed awfully reckless of the nurse to slip up like that and there was a chance that Serina was wrong but he had to be sure before he did anything else. Josh glanced to the cupboard in question as she indicated the cupboard in question and nodded. "Sure. I can't read Japanese, though, so you'll need to tell me what they're for, what the labels say." He was fluent in French and English and even knew some Spanish thanks to Nell but that was it. He retrieved the bottles in question and set them down on the small table next to the bed. "Do you know your medical details? The dosage you're supposed to take? I could check to see if you were given the right thing."
Realising that the elemental did not have his name, he added, "I'm Joshua, by the way." He had no problem with introducing himself to her because he was not trying to pull her leg and it would be rather inconvenient for her not to have his name when he was trying to help her. He didn't know hers, either, but that was a different thing entirely. He was a bit surprised when she asked him to make sure that Ashley was alright but didn't protest, merely glanced at the Fire elemental. "How were you hurt? I might be able to do something." He wasn't adding the 'might' in to hold it over her head—he just really wasn't sure if he'd know how to handle whatever injuries it was that she had. Dropping his voice so that only Ashley could hear, he said, "This is important—do you have any idea where the nurse might have went? I don't want to give your friend any medication she shouldn't be taking."

Ash watched in amusement as her new friend called Mr. Mysterious a water. His confusion was also funny. "Before you came in I was going on about how waters attacked me and how I hated them. Then you came in and I hate you. It makes sense that she would come to that conclusion." Ashley said looking at the girl with a smile. She hoped this would help if she felt silly about being wrong. For some reason Ash also put out her smoke although she wasn't quite sure why. She turned away quickly however not wanting josh to think they were friends, because they weren't. End of discussion.
As Serina mentioned her name Ash screamed on the inside and it was clear from her expression that she was angry, pissed even but in a fairly tame sense, similar to when she had lost the tic tack toe game since that was what this had become, a game. The smirk on his face just made things worse "Dammit!" She exclaimed looking josh right in the eyes. She felt like she had lost some big game, then laughed "You just lost the game" She stuck her tong out at him in a playful way before sitting back down on her own bed, still facing Josh and Serina.
The atmosphere in the room changed when Serina had said said that her medication had been mixed up. Although Ashley was aware that it wasn't a good thing she wasn't as on top of everything like josh was. He was asking some good questions that made him look like he knew what he was doing, for all she knew maybe he did. Either way she felt a little better knowing he was going to step in. Ash had shown up after the girl was given what ever she was given so she couldn't be much help, she couldn't even read the bottles so Ash felt fairly useless. She wanted to help but couldn't, Ash suddenly got panicky wondering is the girl would be OK, she suddenly really cared.
Ash was glad to finally know Josh's name, at least he was playing fair. She thought about commenting but there would be time for that when there wasn't a grate sense of doom and panic. Ash was surprised that he had offered to help at all even though the girl had asked him "I got attacked pretty bad. my skin is blistering from the cold and I still can't feel my arms." She told him thinking he might help her eventually. She went into a bit of a panic however when josh referred to Serina as Ashleys "friend" They were not friends. "She isn't my friend" Ash said whispering back but she shook her head to clear her mind. That wasn't what was important right now. "Last I saw her she took out some dumb shit wind kids. She lead them out and hasn't come back since" Ash said motioning to the door. What had seemed like no big problem, josh had turned into something that was scaring Ash and probably Josh himself but all she could do was sit.

Serina was caught off guard when the boy told her he was a fire. So he's the same as Ashley? Serina thought she was right on...she looked down a little embarrassed. She shouldn't have asked, but she couldn't take it back. She was about to explain when Ashley spoke up and explained it for her. Ashley understood where Serina was coming from and that made her feel a little better. "Arigoto Ashley-san." Serina whispered in Ashley's ear. As she answered the boy's questions she watched a smirk form and him look at Ashley. Ashley said something that Serina didn't understand, but her tone told Serina that she wasn't happy. "What did I say? Did I do something wrong?" But Ashley laughed, which confused Serina even more. "What game? You guys were playing a game? Can I play too?" Serina smiled.
Serina felt the atmosphere change instantly when she mentioned her medication. She looked between the boy and Ashley while neither showed and sign of true concern, she could tell they were worried. At least that's what she was thinking. She was about to correct her statement when the boy bombarded her questions. She shifted back a bit. Uh oh...this isn't good. "Well, I am not actually sure...it is just that I don't feel any better. Watashi wa idaina kanjite inakatta to watashi wa sono jiten de hotondo dete nodatta... " Serina didn't notice that she even talked in Japanese. "My illness? I don't have one." She realized how odd that sounded, considering the situation. She smiled when the boy said that he would help. Serina watched the boy grab her medication...looking at them right now she was a little intimated...is there more now? Serina stared at the medications on the table...there had to be a way to tell what she was given. "Yes i can tell you what they say."
Serina kept a close eye on what bottles the boy brought, watching what came first. Most of her pills were minerals and vitamins. "Medical details? Dosage? What do those mean?"Serina picked up the bottles and separated them into individual piles. "Wait medical details as in why I am not feeling good? Serina suddenly felt self conscious. "I am usually 'sick'."
"Joshua. Kon'nichiwa Joshua-senpai." Serina smiled, "My name is Miyake Serina."
Serina watched as Joshua talked to Ashley. She was glad Ashley was going to get help. Serina turned back to her medication. she finished separating them into three groups: possible medication, medication the she knows she didn't take and the medicine she should have. There were only three bottles in the possible medications that she could have taken. "Joshua-senpai? The medication is one of these...and this is what i should have taken."
Serina held up the first bottle. "Umm...calcium." She held you the second, "vitamin E and...' Serina held up the third bottle, "vitamin B3."
Serina felt a little guilty that she may have made everyone worry. She hadn't meant to, she was just commenting. Serina handed the res of the bottles, excluding the one she needed, to Ashley. "Can you please put these back in the cupboard?" She showed Joshua the final bottle. "I need this one. An antibiotic." Serina put her head down...she felt so bad, but she couldn't bring herself to say anything anymore. Serina kind of wanted to disappear at this moment.
{OOC} Watashi wa idaina kanjite inakatta to watashi wa sono jiten de hotondo dete nodatta.... = I wasn't feeling great and i was mostly out of it by that point...

Post by JOSHUA DONOVAN DALE on Dec 31, 2011 21:00:25 GMT -5
Joshua arched a cool eyebrow at Ashley as she explained things to him, throwing in the fact that she hated him as well. The feelings were pretty much mutual—though Joshua felt more annoyance than hatred, hate was too strong an emotion for someone that merely irritated him. He reserved his hate for people like Patrick and Nell's aunt Jane, people like the gang or Devin's stepmother, who'd slapped his best friend right in front of him. Those were the people he could truly say that he hated. "Lovely," he said. Glancing toward Serena, he told her, "I'm on your side, with Water and Earth." He hoped that gave at least a vague explanation as to why he didn't get along with a Fire. Normally the Fires were a very tight-knit group. If Nell hadn't been around, Josh might actually have gotten along well with Ashley, Altair, Doran, and all the other Fires he'd offended into attacking him. Well, with Ashley it had been the other way around but it was still the same. And maybe he'd have treated Serena like the enemy, but he wasn't going to dwell on maybes.
He rolled his eyes a little. "What game?" He didn't really see any sort of game other than the one about their names but it had been he who had chosen to disclose his name. She hadn't forced him into it. Besides, it had been Ashley whose cover was blown first. Not that he minded, the look he'd given her was merely to be a troll. Joshua was good at that. Getting on peoples nerves seemed to be a speciality. "I haven't lost anything." He didn't feel like he had, anyway. Josh was not one to admit defeat unless he was held down and forced to—his pride was too much for that. At the same time, he didn't feel defeated. If he'd been that concerned about her knowing his name then he would have just remained anonymous to Serina as well. He gave the Water an easy smile, though, when she spoke up. "It's nothing important, don't worry. We weren't playing anything."
Though he understood the first part of what the girl had said, she reverted into another language after that, causing him to blink in confusion. "Er, could you repeat that?" he requested. "I only understand French and English." It had sounded like Japanese. He was fascinated by language and could generally recognise the more common ones but that did not mean he understood what was being said. Besides, she looked like she could perhaps be from Japan. "You don't?" Now Josh was confused. She had been complaining that she didn't feel good and that she had been given the wrong thing so he had merely assumed. He knew that they didn't have morphine or any sort of pain narcotic here and so he figured it was not physical injury. "That was my mistake, then. Why are you here?" It seemed he had confused her by his haste. "Dosage is how many of each you're supposed to take per day and at what times," he explained. Then she said that she was usually sick and his head felt like it was spinning. Is she suffering from something or not?
He listened to Ashley with a serious expression. He might not have liked her but he was in the medical wing to help people regardless of whether they got along. He treated Thunders and Fires as well as the rest, though he did have a tendency to walk out and fetch another nurse if they gave him too much difficulty so he wouldn't be tempted to hurt them even more. "Well, as I'm not Water I can't do anything about the actual injuries themselves, you'll need to wait for the on-duty Water elemental, but..." He trailed off and waved his hand slowly to increase the heat in the small space around Ashley so that it would slowly counteract the coldness. It could be dangerous to do such a thing if it wasn't done carefully but Josh knew what he was doing. "That might help until she gets here. Do you have any non-elemental injuries you need looked at?" He could deal with those, he supposed, as long as they were nothing too serious.
He wondered what it was the Water elemental was calling him but didn't ask, not wanting to feel ignorant of the situation. Instead he merely turned at the sound of his name and glanced at the bottles she indicated. "Vitamins," he said, feeling an instant sense of relief. That was a lot less urgent and frightening than he'd thought. Relaxing, he exhaled and nodded. "Alright, I think you'll be okay. I doubt vitamins'll do you any harm, but this antibiotic—what do you have to take it for?" To Ashley, and in that same quiet voice he'd used before, he said, "If she's not your friend, why are you back here?"
