Projects in a class were Annabel's favourite. She hated having to do work because it was boring as hell but at least when she was stuck in classroom hell with someone she actually liked it was a lot more bearable. She was one of the students that would have her partner picked out before the teacher even finished speaking, casting a knowing grin across the classroom. This time it was an English project and she looked at Ashlee the moment the teacher said something about groups, a question in her eyes. "Partners?" she asked without words, giving her friend a thumbs up.
After class she tapped the Wind girl on the shoulder. "I gotta go to Math—let's meet in the library at lunch, yeah?" She was dreading Math class because she was already wanting the day to be done but at least she was not all that bad at the subject. Her brother was brilliant at it and he'd helped her after school to pick up on things much quicker. I hope we don't get any homework. She waved to a couple friends and then headed toward the Math room with resignation.
Lunch rolled around quicker than usual and she thanked her lucky stars when the teacher dismissed them without assigning any homework. Score! She hadn't expected to be hungry and she almost regretted arranging to meet her friend in the library but Belle was not about to cancel plans. She prided herself on being a pretty reliable person. She dragged herself off to the library and dropped her bag beside a chair with a loud thunk as she slumped into the seat. "Aw, shit, my laptop's in there," she remembered. "I hope it's okay... anyway, you ready to do this?" She looked to the Wind for confirmation, blue eyes bright. "I am so not. Guh, I want food or something." She nudged the bag with her toe and tugged her binder out. "So we have to choose a Shakespeare play and stage an interview or some shit like that, right? Ugh, English projects are so retarded." She shook her head in obvious disgust.
There was a list of the acceptable plays and she frowned at the paper before sliding it across the table to Ashlee. "I dunno, got a favourite? This isn't theatre, I don't get why we have to deal with plays." She was taking theatre and so she would have preferred a little more variety. At least theatre is fun. Her teacher didn't appreciate horsing around but the acting bit was still fairly entertaining.
