Her job was gone, her apartment was gone. The entire life she had once was gone. Now she was stuck here, standing in front of a fryer in Burger King, watching things boil. She wished she could take it all back. She wished she would have just left well enough alone, but no matter how much she hated her sister, she loved her as well. But she did know that it was stupid to go all the way to England to try and find her.
She let a sigh escape her lips as she looked up at the clock. It was almost time for her to leave, which she was grateful for. It was only her second day, and she was sick of this job. But she needed it. She only had enough money to keep her in the hotel for a month, and she needed a more stable lifestyle. She knew she could always try to sell more of her paintings, but she would do that on her days off and her down time from school. She knew this would only be temporary, though. "Hannoly, you're off the clock." The girl gave a nod as she wiped her hands on her work pants, moving towards the employee room.
She quickly grabbed her purse before she moved back to the front room. Before she opened the door, her stomach growled. She figured grabbing dinner wouldn't hurt. "Can I get my usual?" She called back to her boss. He nodded and she moved to one of the booths, sitting down with yet another sigh. She pulled the annoying visor off of her head and took her hair out of its bun. For once, it was all one color, and only down to her shoulders. Her food was brought quickly, and she instantly bit into her Stacker. Glad for some form of food.

Burger King had always been somewhat of a weakness, though before he'd gotten his job as a florist in town it had been a weakness that he could not often satisfy. His parents had not forbidden take-out but it wasn't like he'd been able to go there every day or whenever he wanted. He was also usually forced to take his little brother and while he didn't mind spending time with Cameron it was annoying to have to drag the nine year old wherever he went.
Paycheck in hand (well, wallet) and a smile on his face, Ashton entered the fast food restaurant without a clue as to who was sitting at one of the booths. He was in a fairly good mood despite having worked for most of the day. He liked his job, honestly, for though there were down days in which Andy was in a bad mood or the customers gave him trouble, it was what he loved. Working with plants. "I'll take a chicken sandwich combo with a large fry and drink," he hummed, paying and then leaning against the counter while he waited. Thankfully it wasn't busy and so he got his order back fairly quick, deciding that he'd eat inside since he had nothing better to do. Eating along did not bother him and he didn't want his food to get cold on the drive home.
He was thinking about calling Lark and asking if she wanted to hang out later when he walked by the booth that Hannoly was sitting in, not taking notice at first of who was in it. He saw her face but it did not register until he was about two steps past that he was viewing someone familiar. Then he stopped, hesitated, looked back and blinked. Recognized her. He almost did not know what to do. Ashton was a very spontaneous guy and usually quite accustomed to 'going with the flow' but this was a flow he had not in a million years expected. She's been gone so long! Surely it can't be!
But it was, he was sure of it, there was no way he could forget.
Turning red when he realised that he'd been staring at her for a couple seconds, he managed to sputter out, "H-Hey, Noly, hi!" He ducked his head and grinned sheepishly. Ashton was not a shy person by any means but the whole situation had him caught off guard. "I... I almost don't know what to say, wow. How have you been? Where have you been? Are you... okay?" He blinked and tilted his head, then realised something else. "Oh! You work here now?" There was not much bitterness. As an optimist, he was not currently thinking about how she'd left. All he was thinking about was that she was back.
