it was normal for rhea to be up early in the morning, earlier than any other person of her age would have ever woken up. since her parents had started the restaurant, she was the one who would get her little sister ready for school or wheever she needed to go that morning. she was the one who prepared her breakfast and her lunch and sent her out the door with a kiss on her forehead. her parents had yet to find a manager that they could trust and would not turn their precious restaurant into a proper mess while they were not there. they had just hired a new one and today was the day they were putting him to the test after many hours of watching how he worked. this meant that the girl could finally have a day for herself. she could wake up at the hour she wanted. she could go out and do whatever she wanted without having to worry about what hestia would be doing alone at home. the little girl had a thing for mischief that sometimes worried rhea. but now, she did not have to worry because both of her parents were home and they could take care of the girl. still, the teenager was up as early as she always would be, even though she was on break. she was not one who could sit around for long without doing anything. she liked to be outside and enjoy the fresh air. well, even though it was not as fresh, nowadays. so, as soon as she was out of her bed, she got dressed, putting on a thick shirt and jeans, pulling on socks over her jeans so her small feet would be well protected. she ran down the stairs that led from the upper floor to the kitchen and started making breakfast for herself. there was nobody else up. even her parents who were also used to waking up early due to their job were not up. well, unlike their daughter, they had probably decided to take this day as a day off and sleep in. she could not exactly blame them. her sister, being as lazy as she was, obviously was not up. on the days they had to go somewhere, it would take everything for rhea to be able to pull her out of bed. it took her only a few minutes to eat her toast and her muffin and drink her glass of juice and she was already getting dressed to head out the door. she left a small note near the phone for her parents to see if they wondered where she had gone, even if they knew they could always reach her on her phone. she walked out and took in a deep breath of the cold and fresh morning air, pushing her hair behind her ear as it was blown in front of her eyes. before she had left the academy for the break, it had been planned that she would be hanging out with ashton, her best friend since they had both started at the academy, four years ago. they were in the same element and had many things in common. still, she thought that it would not have been a good idea to go over to his place that early in the morning. he probably was not up yet and so the girl decided that it would be better if she simply took a walk around town before going to his place. she wandered around the park, through the streets, stopped at a tim horton’s to grab something to drink until she realized that time had passed more quickly than she had thought and started to make her way over to ashton’s. there was so much snow outside that even if she was wearing a proper coat and proper boots for such weather, it had managed to sneak in her boots and coat. and she guessed it would not be getting any better during the rest of the day. as she arrived at the door, the girl rang the door bell, hoping that most of ashton’s family was up and that she would not be disturbing them in any way. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - credit , to me tagged , mister ashton camden raleigh, aka THE taylor. <3 music , everything on my comp. outfit , clickers, bby.words , SEVEN OH SEVEN. notes , woot.~

Cameron was a pretty lively kid and, unfortunately for Ashton, he also tended to be a bit of an early riser. His parents still enforced bedtime for him and so he was the first one to wake up during the holidays. Ashton woke that December morning to a heavy weight bouncing up and down on his bed, his brother grinning at him when he groaned and cracked open his eyes. "Cam, what do you want?" Gah, all he wanted to do was go back to bed and enjoy his freedom. He hated having the realization that this single month of winter (winter, of all the seasons!) was the only time he had going for him before he was thrust headlong into the world of college and long study sessions. Ashton was lazy, a procrastinator, and so he'd never exactly been the type of guy ideal for studying. "Get up, Ash, it snowed last night!" The way Cameron announced it, one would think that aliens had landed in the backyard or someone had accomplished time-travel for the first... time. The Earth student (or could he consider himself a graduate now?) covered his head with the pillow as his brother continued to bounce up and down, clearly trying hard to irritate his older brother into waking. It worked, for within ten minutes Ashton was awake and hanging out downstairs in the kitchen. Sure enough, there was a thick layer of snow blanketing the ground. There had been snow yesterday but it had been the flimsy, fluffy sort of snow that wasn't good for anything. This snow looked promising. "You like snow, don'tcha, Ash?" Yeah, Ashton was pretty fond of it. "It's cold I don't like," he said after a sip of coffee. Ick, coffee. He didn't like it but he was too lazy to root through the fridge looking for something better.
Ashton looked toward the door when it went, though there was no beating his brother's enthusiasm as the young Raleigh brother shot up from his chair and rocketed toward the door. Ashton rolled his eyes, getting up and following a lot more slowly. Cameron had already reached the door before he'd taken more than a few steps and the hyperactive nine-year-old grinned up at Rhea, looking cheerful. "Hiya Rhea," he said, and though Ashton was close enough to hear the greeting the boy insisted on calling out, "Ash, it's your friend!" The older boy came into view with a lazy sort of swagger, grinning at Rhea and rolling his eyes at Cameron. "I can see that, Cam, I'm not blind. Go... find something to do." The young kid recognised himself as dismissed but didn't argue, rushing off to find another way to occupy himself. Ashton envied the zeal of kids sometimes. He'd grown out of hyper attitude and grown into the laziness he now possessed. He didn't even have to invite Rhea in verbally, just gestured into the house and closed the door behind her. "My 'rents are sleeping," he supplied, not that he cared. They didn't mind too much if he had friends over, so long as they weren't disruptive friends. "So what's up, Ree? Wanna hang out, or?" Ashton was always down for hanging out with his best friend. He had a lot of best friends, actually, because someone as friendly as Ashton had to. Friends were like Lays, he couldn't settle for having just one. Or two. Or three. You get the point. "We might wanna go outside. If that's 'kay? I don't want to wake anyone up." His usually cheerful personality was subdued to a more amused contentment thanks to the fact he'd just woke up himself but he'd be back to himself soon enough. He just needed time for caffiene to take effect.

having a younger sibling definitely was not an easy thing, rhea knew that. in fact, she probably knew it better than anyone else. she had a little sister herself. a water elemental which meant that generally, they would always get along pretty well. it helped that rhea had this forgiving nature about herself that always made things easier when her prankster of a sister would put food colorant in her shampoo thus making the teenager’s hair slightly green for a week or so. they definitely had this typical sister relationship thing going on. but how could one ever dislike for more than one second such a cute child? as the door flung open before her, rhea was not at all surprised to find cameron behind it, as lively as ever. her sister probably would have been the same at this hour if they had not had this big movie night together yesterday. rhea smiled down at the boy as he greeted her, pushing her hair behind her ear. whuddup, kiddo? she said with a large smile in a way that was meant to sound cool even though she knew that she probably sounded like the biggest dork ever. not that she really minded anyway. she never did because she never took herself seriously anyway. what was the point in that? she looked up and noticed the older brother of the two raleigh brothers standing a few steps away from them. the girl grinned back at her friend and shook her head slightly when ashton dismissed his brother. don’t just shoo him like that. that’s rude, mate. she told him and she stepped inside and started unzipping her winter coat. her head snapped up to look at the ceiling when ashton mentionned that his parents were still sleeping. if the girl ever had friends over when her parents were sleeping, it usually meant a grumpy father and a slightly heated argument between the two later on. it probably had to do with the fact that her father was basically always irritable, being a fire elemental and all. she shrugged the idea of an argument between her and her father off an brought her attention back on ashton who had already moved on to the next important subject which was what they were planning to do. plans really were not rhea’s strong point. she usually just went with whatever was offered to her since she was not a really difficult person to deal with. she basically liked doing anything, from bungee jumping to watching a movie comfortably installed on a couch with fluffy pillows. she considered going outside for a second. rhea generally did not quite like winter at all. the idea of dead plants and cold just made shivers run down her spine. she loved spring when everything started to bloom again and she could once agin feel the heat of the sun on her cheeks. but the fact that it had just snowed last night and that she had gloves on made her want to go outside in order to be able to throw a couple of snowballs right at ashton’s face. maybe that would help bring out the normal ashton out more and would cut the laziness. plus, what was the fun in just sitting around? they might as well have burned all that energy they had accumulated while sleeping. then, they could rest. at least, that was how rhea saw it. the teenager had never really lost her hyperactive ways that she had had as a child. she still would always be jumping around, smiling and having a great time, even when she had just woken up. as far as she could remember, she had never been lazy. she had always been willing to move and run around constantly. i wouldn’t be here if i didn’t want to hang out, ash, would i? she said in a know-it-all tone, chuckling a little after she was done talking. she shrugged slightly. outside sounds awesome, really. but are you sure you are up for it? she asked him, raising an eyebrow. i mean, it might get a little violent out there, y’know? with the snow and all. she hinted and zipped her coat back up, starting to make her way towards the door. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - credit , to me tagged , mister ashton camden raleigh, aka THE taylor. <3 music , everything on my comp. outfit , clickers, bby.words , SEVEN ONE FOUR. notes , i had something i wanted to say. but yeah, it vanished.

Ashton lifted his eyebrows at Rhea in a kind of an 'are you serious?' sort of manner. He glanced at his little brother and then back at her, shaking his head with a laugh. "Hey, Cam can take it. Can'tcha, Cam?" The younger boy was already halfway through leaving but he paused and called back, "Whatever, Ash." They didn't have a sibling rivalry so much as a banter. The rivalry had been something that had developed early on and that he had definitely taken a harsher stance on out of the two. He'd been jealous of the attention that his little brother was getting from everyone. He was no longer the cute one that everyone would coo over and if he and Cameron fought, the younger of the two of them was usually forgiven first. It hadn't seemed fair. Now, though, he'd gotten over those childhood anxieties and they were thick as thieves. Maybe thicker. "Besides," he said when Cameron was already elsewhere in the house and probably preparing some sort of plan to hang out in the snow later, "I deal with the kid every day! You'd get sick of him, too!" Ashton was saying this mostly in jest. He wasn't sick of his brother so much as he wanted some time with one of his best friends and without a little sibling running around the two of them and disrupting any conversations they might be having. He still had yet to outgrow the annoying childhood habit of pretending that he had even half an idea of what people were talking about even if he was completely clueless and it was something he would never actually understand. It was rather annoying, really, but Ashton had learned to tolerate it. Just not this early in the morning when he'd just woken up and he had a friend over. No thanks, he'd pass. "Never mind that, though. How's your sister?" As best friends always were, the two of them were more than familiar with the families of the other. Ashton knew that Rhea had a little sister just as Rhea was aware of Cameron's existence. Both probably had their moments of being annoying but he was sure Ree loved her sister just as Ashton loved his little bro.
He rolled his bright green eyes at her tone, smirking. He seemed more amused than irritated by it because it was very hard to irritate someone as patient and as tolerant as Ashton Raleigh. He was the King of Calm. That was part of the reason it was pretty difficult for him to make enemies 'just because'. He didn't hate anyone right off the bat, didn't hate anything unless given a reason. He was a tolerant guy. "Well duh, I'm not a dumbass, Ree." His own tone was playful and she could probably tell that he was not offended. He wore his heart on his sleeve and Ashton probably couldn't pretend that he was unhappy if he wanted to. Not that anyone would want to fake misery, but it worked in reverse as well. If he was upset, it tended to make itself obvious. "For all I knew you could have been here to tell me that I'd slept through an apocalypse and this was nuclear winter or something. Y'know, important stuff." Important stuff like deaths in the family is more what he meant on a serious level but of course Ashton was the type to compare this to nuclear winters and the like. He never took himself seriously. He tried to take other people seriously but that become a challenge sometimes as well. The Earth elemental snorted at the idea of winter being violent, not realising that Rhea was hinting to the idea of a snowball fight. "It's tame as kittens out there, we'll live." He grabbed his jacket from the peg beside the door and shrugged it on, zipping it up and grabbing the gloves from out of his pockets. They were fingered gloves, of course, because the ones without fingers were a pain in the ass. He led the way through the back door and out of the house, the backyard a stretching expanse of white. Farms were cool for their abundance of space. "So what do you want to do?" He asked the question innocently, clearly having no idea about her actual devious plans.

rhea had always had a thing with kids. she was great with them. whenever she was watching her sister when her parents were out, the two girls would get along wonderfully. it probably had to do with the fact that she was a child at heart and would always prefer playing over working. she was not exactly lazy. in fact, she was quite the opposite. she was hyperactive and always had to be doing something. it just so happened that the things that truly entertained her were things a ten year old would have enjoyed. she sometimes thought that she was mentally retarded and that her mind had been stuck in its ten-year-old form like that man, sean penn, in the “i am sam” movie. however, whenever she saw a cute guy pass by, her hormones started acting up and she knew that she had really gone through puberty. and not only physically. if her brain had been stuck in its ten-year-old form, she probably would have thought of boys as disgusting and thought that they had some kind of disease. plus, the few acne marks she had on her cheeks were the proof that that horrible period of time had happened. still, she always got along better with younger kids, and that was probably why she felt somewhat sad for little cameron as he was shooed away by his older brother and forced to go find something else to do. the girl rolled her eyes at her best friend. awh, come on. the kid is the cutest thing. you’re just a grumpy old man! she said as she chuckled softly and ran her hand through her hair. however, she knew that ashton was right. dealing with a little sibling could be hard sometimes. rhea remembered when she had had her first boyfriend and her sister had walked in on them making out. hestia had only been ten by then. she still had an innocent mind and so was quite troubled by what she had caught her sister doing. in order for her to shut up about it and not tell her parents, rhea was the one who had to tell her about these things. most embarrassing moment of her life. the teenager shrugged lightly. probably still passed out. tired her pretty good yesterday night. she told him, smiling slightly. with her next phrase and ashton keeping his calm, her smile widened. this was what she liked about their friendship. they could tease each other without the other really taking it seriously. ever. it probably had to do with the fact that they were both earth elementals and that they were both pretty patient. she wondered what it was like for fire elementals who were friends with one another. wouldn’t it have been difficult for them to have any kind of fun since they always seemed to be so on the edge? it was like that with her father, at least. whenever he talked about his time at the academy, he never spoke of his friends. her mother, on the opposite, would always be telling her two daughters how much she missed her time at the academy and all of her friends. to be honest, she was quite glad that she was an earth elemental. she wanted to keep her friends throughout her entire life. are you sure about that, raleigh? she asked with a slight wink, letting him know that she was kidding about it and laughed a little. of course you would come up with such a crazy idea. she told him, facepalming her forehead and rolling her eyes as she giggled. actually, dragons actually exist. except they can freeze everything on their paths. not burn everything. she said while trying to keep a serious face. of course, it ended up failing miserably and the girl bursted into laughters. she started to make her way back to the door as he grabbed his jacket and smirked lightly. he clearly had not gotten the hint. she shrugged slightly. the weather is.. but somebody else isn’t. she muttered her breath so that he couldn’t hear anything. better keep the element of surprise on her side, right? when they set foot outside, rhea was sure to grab some snow as he closed the door behind them. she kept his back to him as she formed the snowball in her hands and then turned, keeping it hidden. oh… just.. this! she said as she threw the ball at him. she didn’t bother seeing if it actually hit him and simply ran for her life. war had been declared. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - credit , to me tagged , mister ashton camden raleigh, aka THE taylor. <3 music , everything on my comp. outfit , clickers, bby.words , SEVEN SIX SIX. notes , such kids. xD

Ashton laughed, wishing that Cameron was as easily knocked out and kept down as Rhea's sister apparently was. His brother seemed to be a boundless ball of energy, like he'd stolen all of Ashton's hyperactivity so that he could shoot around the living room or run circles around people when they were half-awake. Ashton was not the sort of lazy where he never moved or got active, it was just a slow morning. Most mornings were. He was more of an afternoon person. The night was too quiet and lonely for his liking and the mornings were far too bright and early. He didn't like feeling like he'd gotten almost no sleep the night before. Sleeping long and sleeping in was his style. "Most of the world is still asleep," he told his friend with a bit of a smirk, though it was clear by the amusement in his eyes that he meant well. "You always show up at the weirdest times." If he had really minded he simply wouldn't have answered the door and he was sure that the smile he wore on his lips was proof of his amiable mood. When was Ashton not in a good mood? It was incredibly hard to drag the cheery Earth elemental down. "Seriously, though, what are you doing up at this hour? Cam dragged me outta bed." His brother seemed to forget sometimes that Ashton enjoyed his manly beauty sleep and that if he did not get to sleep in, it took him an hour or so to fully wake up. If he slept until he wanted to wake up, Ashton was up and ready to tackle the day within five minutes. He supposed that was with most people but still, he wished that over winter break his brother would allow him some freedom to sleep. He'd dealt with early rising all throughout the school year, after all.
Never the type to be easily offended, Ashton often allowed himself to become the butt of a lot of jokes in his circle of friends. As long as he convinced himself that they didn't mean the things they said and that their laughter at his expense was out of love, he did alright. He really was too trusting in other people at times. He felt he had every right to trust Rhea, though, and he looked mock thoughtful at her comment. "I don't know, maybe I am. What do you think?" He crossed his eyes and staggered around for a moment in a comical imitation of being an idiot, then recovered and went on like nothing had happened. That was Ashton for you, always kidding around and being downright ridiculous. "Hey, nuclear winter is serious business," he said, though he was unable to keep his straight face. Ashton didn't actually know what nuclear winter was (didn't know about a lot of things) but he guessed it was a winter that had to do with nuclear power or something along those lines. The name suggested as much. "And you're calling me ridiculous?" Ashton sounded doubtful as he raised his eyebrows at Rhea but he knew she was kidding and so he wasn't too condescending. Ashton could usually be counted on to be a really nice guy and to never mean anything by even his negative sounding comments. Chances were, if it was offensive, it was a joke. Once they were outside, he was surprised to see the snowball flying through the air toward him. He only had time to blink before it hit, laughing and brushing the excess snow from his coat. "Hey!" he called after Rhea, trying and failing to sound upset. She was running away and he gathered up a snowball of his own, lobbing it toward her. And another. "I'll get you back for that, Ree!" There were some good things about winter, like snowboarding and snowball fights with friends. He didn't mind it too much.

rhea did not know how she got up so early every single morning either. with the evening she had spent with her sister watching movies, she was certain she had not had much more sleep than ashton had. yet, she had been up hours before him and did not feel tired at all. it probably had to do with the fact that they had to wake up early all year long. she had gotten used to it quickly and could not seem to get rid of it. she would have understood during summer. when it was sunny outside, she would have hated to sleep in and lose most of her day because she had been lazy. she was not exactly a morning person, but she always felt like she could accomplish more in daylight then at night. plus, she had forgotten to turn off her alarm clock. it was still set to wake her up for her classes at the academy. since she only owned one, she always brought it with her. well.. people are lazybums and they’re going to lose a huge part of this amazing day, which is their problem. she guessed that it truly was a question of the lifestyle that you chose to live. if you felt like going to bed late and were more productive at night, then sleeping in was probably a good idea for you. however, if you went for a jog every morning like rhea did since she had found out that her grades were dropping because she slept in during the weekends and were active during the entire, then it was completely normal for you to go to bed early. as simple as that, really. only a matter of if you liked it or not. you only say that because you’re one of those lazy bums, ash. she told him, laughing lightly. it was clear by the tone she used that she did not mind at all the fact that he was somewhat lazy and preferred sleeping in. in fact, it made it more of a challenge for her when she did come at that time and tried to make him move. she liked challenges in her day. otherwise, everything would simply be way too boring. i’m obviously visiting my best friend, duh! she rose an eyebrow, chuckling a little. it was always easy to tell whether rhea was being serious about something or not. it could easily be seen in her eyes. if she was deadly serious, no spark would light her up at all. just like when she had told one of those thunder bitches she was going to rip her hair out if she kept picking on her little sister. the girl had not dared try again. however, right now, her eyes were lit with amusement. she would never have said anything mean to anyone that she loved. even if they did something that annoyed her deeply, she would always stay very soft about it. so it was obvious that, right at this moment, she was joking. she was far from thinking that her best friend was a dumbass, and he seemed to realize that, which was definitely good. she burst into quiet laughters at his imitation of what a dumbass would look like in order not to wake up his parents, one of her hands covering her mouth. mhm, think we should get you tested. she told him with a large grin stuck to her lips. really? dude, we totally need to research those. they sound amusing. she said as she seriously as she could. she fixed her eyes on a spot behind him, seeming as though she was truly thinking about cracking a book open and starting to research nuclear winters. she rolled her eyes. ice dragons had been the best thing she had been able to come up with. maybe she was not as awake as she would have liked to be. yeah, i know, that sounded pathetic. definitely will come up with something better next time. she said and shrugged lightly. when she heard him and thus knew that the snowball had found its target, a large grin spread across her face once again and she ducked behind a tree before any of his snowballs could reach her. she did pick up some snow and started forming yet another in her hands, looking in his direction from behind the tree every now and then to see if he was approaching. you’re too slow for me, raleigh!- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - credit , to me tagged , mister ashton camden raleigh, aka THE taylor. <3 music , everything on my comp. outfit , clickers, bby.words , SEVEN FIVE TWO. notes , hehehehe c:

Ashton definitely preferred the daylight to the night time, he merely did not like being up this early because it reminded him of long nights with no sleep spent procrastinating. He didn't like that his study habits at school messed with his biological clock left and right. He didn't like a whole lot of things about school, really, but he did hope that things would be better come the new year and college. He had heard things both good and bad about it. There was still Math which made him cringe but there was not Math in every single year and the classes for his major were classes he actually felt like taking. That is, if he stuck to his major. He knew he could go undecided but he was paranoid that if he didn't find something and stick to it that he would be in school for the rest of his life. "I'm not lazy, you're just crazy," he replied, then grinned like a child. "Hey, that rhymes!" The silliest of things tended to excite Ashton and put him in a good mood. Everything from a smile on someone's face to something sounding the same could brighten his morning. Such was the mind of an eternal optimist. Always bright sides, always green grass, never a lack of silver lining in his world. It didn't tire him out. He had to wonder how pessimists managed to drag themselves out of bed in the morning. "Seriously, though, Ree, this is break. Who wakes up at this hour on break?" Christmas was an exception because his little brother made sure that everyone was awake bright and early at like five in the morning while he rushed downstairs to open presents. Ashton loved getting and giving gifts and all but he was perfectly fine with sleeping in on Christmas morning. He loved sleep a little too much sometimes. "You know what I meant," the Earth elemental insisted with a good-natured roll of his eyes, though he did not press the matter further. Whatever. She was up, he was up, he was going to roll with the punches for now.
He hated researching things and made a face at the thought. The extent of his researching skills were Google and Wikipedia. If it wasn't on there then he wasn't going to kill himself trying to find it. He knew Rhea was probably kidding though and so his expression cleared up pretty quickly. "Research when we're on holiday? Since when were you a dork?" His voice was light and soft with teasing. If Ashton ever called someone a name like dork or weirdo they could rest assured that he was not being serious. He was more envious than condescending when it came to people with more intelligence and dedication than he had. He didn't want to be like them exactly, Ashton wasn't the type to spend his days pining after things he couldn't have, but he figured that it would make the whole school thing a lot easier. Ash was Ash, though, and Ash was a lazy guy. He dealt with that and he knew he couldn't and wouldn't change. "At least mine is a legit thing. Or I think it is." He blinked, realising that he didn't know whether or not nuclear winter actually existed. He'd heard of it but it could be one of those wild and crazy conspiracy theories that everyone talked about. Maybe I actually should look it up. Even as the thought crossed his mind he knew he probably wouldn't. He'd end up forgetting in five minutes and he'd be all too happy to live in ignorance. He huffed in disappointment when Rhea dodged both of his snowballs, not happy with that outcome. Oh well. Next time? She hid behind a tree and he took this opportunity to make three more, carrying them balanced between one arm and his chest as he snuck around the tree and started throwing wildly. He didn't know if any of them would hit but it was worth a shot, right? Everything was worth a try. "Hey, I am not slow!" He wasn't actually offended, though, of course not. Since when did he get offended?

biological clocks were definitely annoying. well, at least, in rhea’s opinion. she hated that they determined pretty much anything about her life, or anyone’s life, for that matter. like how many times someone had to pee during a day, or at what time they would wake up. they just made things a whole lot more complicated than they needed to be. however, rhea liked waking up at the time that she did, even though she was meant to be on break and take things slow. god knew the girl never took anything slow. in fact, slow annoyed her, irked her, made her throw tantrums. whenever someone was walking too slow to her taste, she would walk right past them. she was not exactly impatient, but when she had to be somewhere, she liked getting there as quickly as she could. being late for something had always stressed her to the highest point. it made her nervous and she could not stop apoligizing even if the person who was waiting for her was someone she barely knew and could not have cared less about. early really should have been her middle name. college was something else that bothered her. even though she was pretty certain of what she wanted to do with her life, which meant become like drew barrymore in big miracle, work for greenpeace and save whales, college was a huge milestone in someone’s life. she simply could not take this lightly and her parents’ definitely would not let her. however, she managed to keep the thought of it aside, in the back of her mind. there was already enough things to worry about, like how her little sister would be doing in school. yeah, i’m not going to deny that one.. to be honest, if she had not been slightly crazy, she would not have found life as enjoyable as she thought it was right now. she loved being all over the place and going all out for the smallest of things. she loved being able to enjoy the smallest of things just like a child, just like ashton was enjoying the fact that lazy rhymed with crazy. she was even proud of it and would have never taken offense if someone did call her that seriously. well, she never really took offense about anything, but you get the point. apparently, i do. she told him with a slight chuckle. a dork, mhm? the girl’s smile widened even more, if that ws even possible as a laughter escaped her lips. didn’t you know? i research natural catastrophes every single time i get the chance! well, it was partly true. the part that she left out was that, after finding out about some huge company being disrespectful towards the environment, she would send them a hateful letter filled with huge words to make herself look smart and telling them how stupid they were for destroying their planet and blah, blah, blah. the usual, really. she instantly knew that ashton was kidding. not only because she knew that he would never call anyone by such a name unless he was teasing said person, but also because she knew that a friend like ashton would be the first to know that rhea being a dork was just impossible in this reality. she was everything except socially inept, or well, even intelligent, for that matter. she loved people and stuck to them like chewing gum on a shoe, no matter what happened. plus, with the bad habit that she had to rush into things, she would sometimes get herself into impossible situations where she would need saving. oh yeah? do you wanna bet on it, ash? she asked lightly, shrugging her shoulders. she then mock-spit in her hand and extended it for him to shake with a large grin on her face. sure, rhea was a tomboy. she had always been. she would constantly be running around all over the place, getting herself as dirty as one could possibly get. however, spitting had always been something that disgusted her. she could never bring herself to doing it, even if she tasted some disgusted food and felt the need to get it out of her mouth as quickly as possible. she was truly surprised when one of ashton’s snowballs hit her right on the shoulder and yet another on her back when she started to run away. she spun around, throwing one of her own in his direction. yes, you areeeee, lazybum! she said with what she wanted to look like an evil grin on her face. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - credit , to me tagged , mister ashton camden raleigh, aka THE taylor. <3 music , everything on my comp. outfit , clickers, bby.words , SEVEN SIX FOUR. notes , here i am again.

What was normality, anyway? Ashton would be perfectly comfortable in assuming that everyone was crazy because everyone did do things on occasion that at least someone in the world considered abnormal. He did strange things a lot of the time compared to his friends but they didn't seem all that weird to Ashton. He had friends that thought his pet snake was weird, after all, and if he were the type to get offended that might have done it. What was so bad about Lilith? "You'd better not!" He grinned at her. "Cause I know the truth and I'd sell you out. How would you like that?" He put his hands over his mouth as if he was talking about committing some terrible sort of crime. Imagine being able to sell someone out because they were apparently crazy! He was just being silly and they both knew it. "We can be nutballs together," he told her solemnly, then laughed because 'nutballs' really did sound ridiculous. "Nutballs remind me of dessert. I want dessert now, Ree. It's all your fault, thanks." He made a 'psh' sound in his throat and shook his head as if disgusted. His train of thought really did go to all of the weird places, especially when he was tired.
He didn't do a whole lot of research outside of the little things that interested him, and when he did go to Google to consult the almighty search god he usually ended up about fifty pages from where he'd started looking at completely different things. A project for school about, say, nuclear winter, would end in teacup pigs and singing hamsters. He was far too easily distracted and the internet was a dangerous place for such people. "Oh do you? Name a few." His green eyes sparkled with amusement as he challenged her, crossing his arms. Hey, maybe she actually would know a few and she could prove him wrong but Ashton was mostly kidding around. Besides, he did not mind being wrong sometimes. The boy hardly had a competitive bone in his body and he liked to see other people feeling good about themselves. If that meant losing to them, so be it. Naturally he tended to be a bit of an ego-feeder, though most of the time it was not a conscious thing.
He might have not had a problem with dirt and mud but the idea of people doing spit-shakes grossed him out. "Ugh, no!" he said with a laugh, backing away from her hand. He did not realise that she was only kidding and that she'd not actually spat into her hand. If he had he might have played along with it. "Re-ee, that's gross," he insisted, shuddering. He did not want someone's saliva coating his hand, thank you very much. That was just gross.
The snowball pegged him in the arm and he laughed, cheeks flushed with the cold and a broad grin on his face. Again, he did not mind the fact that she was doing better than him in their snowball fight because he was in it more for the fun than anything else. Rather than trying to throw another snowball back at her, Ashton got a devious idea and ran toward her. When he got close enough he made to lunge at her and tackle them both into a bank of snow, grinning like an idiot and laughing all the while. If he actually managed to tackle her then they'd both go down, if he missed he'd simply end up ploughing into the snowbank himself. Whatever the outcome happened to be, Ashton straightened up with snow in his hair, wiggling awkwardly. "Gahhh, I got snow down my shiiiirt!" He stood up and did a wobbly sort of hopping dance to try and get it out. "All your fault. All of it," he blamed his friend again, pouting.
