She loved coffee. Thrived off it. Rin had been drinking coffee since before her father would even allow her to have any, watching him make a pot in the morning and then sneaking later to make one herself. He would make off-hand remarks about how much coffee he apparently drank and though she'd giggled as a child and pretended not to know anything Rin figured that he probably knew. The memories hurt, the good times with her father. Oh well. She didn't dwell on negative things like that too much. She thought about her failed career as an actress a lot but that was mostly because she had to spend every day teaching other students how to do what she'd wanted to. It was hard not to think about it. Right now she was not thinking about anything, though, except how long the damned line was getting. There were already several people in front of her and a few people behind. Rin did not mind crowds but she hated lines, hated waiting. It made her impatient if she was kept for too long and impatience made her irritable. An irritable Rin was not something most people would want to deal with, even if she did tend to get over her irritation quickly.
What was irking her right now? The fact that the two girls in the line behind her were yammering away at one another. Alright, so talking to each other was not a crime, especially not in a public place, and it wasn't like they had annoying voices or were discussing anything too stupid, but Caterina didn't bother fussing over details. "And then my brother's got work on Friday but I'm probably going to go and see him on Sunday." They weren't even talking that loud but Rin's short fuse had been lit and she rounded on them with a very blunt and sharp, "No one gives a shit about your brother, but you know what I do give a shit about? This fucking menu. So how about you shut up and let me read it?" The girls looked affronted for a moment but as one of them tried to start an argument by shooting something back at her, Rin had already taken to glaring at the menu again. She wasn't really reading it, she was just ticked off. For no reason other than that the person two in front of her in the line was taking too fucking long to decide what they wanted. Should have decided what you wanted before you got here, asshole.
At long last it was her turn in the line and she gave her order, a single cup of coffee, extra large. "She's not even getting anything important," one of the girls muttered indignantly from behind her. Without turning, Rin said, "I might have if you'd shut your trap long enough for me to think." She accepted her coffee from the server and stalked off to a two-seater table, sitting down and crossing one leg over the other. Mm, coffee. Rin actually could be nice on some occasions but there were others where the woman just did not have enough of a fuse with people. All the same, there were certain people in her life who she had an actual respect for (Logan, her coworker, being one of them) and they tended to get a slightly softer treatment than everyone else. Slightly. She was still herself in all aspects of the words but she didn't mean the insults quite as much. She did have the capacity to make friends, after all. And today she was meant to be meeting one of said friends, a former student who she had taken a liking to.

Ethan’s apartment had begun to grow on him over the year. The tight and cramped living space, creaky floor boards, and shower that never seemed to want to give him a full hot shower gave the place charm. When compared to the obnoxious mansion he came from, this place seemed more like home than that ever had. Sure, he had all the space he could ever want along with a beach-side view, but all that meant nothing when it came to living with his father. Of course, his plan included to continue working and saving up enough money to move somewhere nicer, but for the time the tiny studio apartment suited him fine.
He arose from bed, the rays of the morning sun streaming in through the cracks in his shades. Rubbing his eyes, he sat up and stretched, dragging his drowsy self into the bathroom to shower. He got ready, throwing on a pair of tight dark jeans, a button-up shirt, and a cardigan over the shirt. He ran his hands through his hair, taming the curls to the best of his ability. Shrugging, he stepped out into the kitchen to pour himself a cup of coffee, despite the fact that he was going to meet someone for coffee. Too much caffeine didn’t really apply to Ethan. Sipping the coffee, he turned into the living room area to feed his pet bunny, Ozzie, but when he approached the cage she was nowhere to be found. Quirking an eyebrow, he checked his immediate proximity but found no fluffy brown critter. “Oz?
” he called, even though the animal wouldn’t respond to its name. How did she get out? After a good fifteen minutes of searching he found the rabbit, tucked tightly in a corner in the kitchen, nibbling on food she’d stolen from chewing through the bag. Ethan breathed a sigh of relief, snatching up his pet and tucking her away in the cage. He poured more food in her cage and closed it tight. He checked his watch and groaned. He was on time before, but his detour had now made him late. Grabbing a coat and scarf he dashed out the door and slid into his car. He made it to Timmies and glanced around the room for his past drama teacher. He spotted her at a table and trotted over. “ Hey, sorry I’m late I had—er—pet issues,” he told her, shoving his hands in his pockets. “ I’ll go grab a coffee and be right back.” He flashed a smile and entered the line. He ordered a double shot large coffee, added tons of sugar to it, and joined Caterina at the table. “ All right, that’s better,” he said, sighing, taking off his coat and scarf and draping them over his chair. “ So, how’ve you been, Ms. R?” He beamed at her, taking a sip from his coffee, despite the fact that it was still hot. Though Caterina did consider some people friends, that did not mean she was any less blunt in conversation with them. She surveyed Ethan through her ice-blue eyes when he approached her, lifting a red eyebrow carefully. "Pet issues? The fuck does that mean, did a cat shit on the carpet or something?" Despite the words, her tone was not unfriendly. Her words often came across as more offensive than they were meant to be and the fact that she didn't bother correcting herself meant that she was often taken literally all of the time. People who'd known her long enough tended to realise after a while that she didn't mean anything by her comments and if she did, it was obvious. Rin didn't sugar-coat or pretend that she was alright with a person when she was not. Her comment to Ethan was more her way of expressing interest in his life in her own, blunt, cuss-infested way. "Well, it's whatever," she shrugged, not too bothered. She didn't mind that he was late or anything like that because she'd been focused on her coffee and allowing her thoughts to drift. She was not easily offended by things like lateness, though since she was spiteful toward her students she did not allow it in a class environment.
She nodded when Ethan said that he was going off to get coffee, sipping her own and looking content in that bored sort of way. She didn't find Ethan boring, though, it was simply her. In a nutshell. She was surprisingly social and liked people for how catty and caustic she could get. Blinking at his order (the table was close enough to the counter that she had been able to overhear) she said, "Jesus, you're going to be as hyper as a fucking two year old in a couple of minutes," she remarked. "If you're going to start scaling the walls I think I deserve a heads up." Nah, it probably wasn't going to be that bad. She wasn't big on energy drinks because the high caffiene concentration made her shake like a leaf but coffee could be okay as long as she didn't pull an Ethan. It was funny how utterly unprofessional Rin was compared to some of her colleagues. They would treat a former student like a student and she treated them like anyone else in her life. If she respected someone enough, she elevated them in status in her mind to someone that she could talk to without giving two shits about what they thought of her trucker-swearing habits and sarcastic sense of humour.
Speaking of unprofessional, her style saw a definite shift from the workplace to the outside world. The combat boots, loose t-shirts and tight black jeans gave her a much more rebellious-teenager look rather than the teacher she was supposed to be. She didn't care what people thought. Besides, the boots were bitchin'. "Oh, please, it's Rin," she snorted, though she did give him a smile in return. She was capable of the usual social niceties if she thought it was worth the effort on her part. This was, she decided. Ethan had been one of the few decent students she'd actually had. "I've been better and I've been worse. That said, I'd say I was doing pretty great. M'not dead, and that's something." Morbid, wasn't she? "Nothing exciting, though. What about you? Still going strong with your major?" One of the main reasons she was fond of Ethan above a lot of the other students was that theatre wasn't a one-time course for him. He was serious about it compared to most of the kids she'd taught who simply wanted an easy credit. She was too rough around the edges to admit it but she always liked when someone appreciated the class the way it was meant to be appreciated.

Ethan smirked, brushing off the bluntness, aware of the way his former teacher often spoke. “Ah—no, my, er, bunny escaped in my apartment and I had to search for her,
” he answered, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. It sounded a little ridiculous coming out of his mouth. “ She’s good at camouflage, who knew?”” he added lightly, glad she didn’t mind his late arrival. Ethan tended to be late for things, he wasn’t exactly a good planner, but it still bothered him when he failed to be punctual. The fact that he still held the same job surprised him after all the times he clocked in at least ten minutes later than his shift started. Then again, his boss was quite the push-over. But the leniency wasn’t exactly the best thing for Ethan, since it allowed him to continue his unprepared ways. Caffeine, much like arriving on time to things, always proved to be a problem for Ethan. The amount that he needed to get through the day sometimes got to be a bit absurd. He started drinking coffee around the age of sixteen and was hooked ever since. It hardly woke him up any more; he figured he built up a tolerance for it. He laughed at Caterina’s statement. “ This? Psh, I can drink like three of these a day. I have a problem, I know. But don’t worry, I promise to keep both feet grounded.” He said, flashing a cheeky grin and continued sipping his drink, the hot liquid warming up his chilled fingertips from the weather. He never really kept relationships with teachers after he had them, mostly because none of his teachers particularly liked him. If he wasn’t sleeping in class he was gazing off blankly into space or failing a test. The high school diploma displayed on his mantle sometimes shocked him by the fact that he obtained it. Of course college was no easier as far as work went, but at least he could take subjects that interested him. His ADD typically left his mind fluttering around whereas taking the classes related to his major kept him more focused. So, Rin was one of the few, if not only, teachers from high school that he actually kept contact with because her classes were the only ones he tried in. Ethan put his elbow on the small table and fiddled with the cardboard band around the coffee cup. He smiled when she corrected him with her name, adding, “ Force of habit. How’ve you been, Rin?” He brought the coffee to his lips again, satisfied by the obnoxiously sweet taste. He wasn’t exactly sure how to respond to Rin’s answer, but gave her a sad smile, wondering whether what she said was a good or bad thing, but decided to take it as positive. “ Well, that’s good then, yeah?” he said, cocking his head. He beamed when she asked about his major. Talking about it filled him up with pride that he couldn’t deny. “ Mhm, good, good, good. I’m actually doing well in school for once,” he told her with a small laugh. “ Yes, still a musical theatre major and it’s going well. I mean, tiring, lots of work but definitely rewarding.” [/blockquote][/blockquote]

It amused her to think of someone like Ethan owning a bunny. Bunnies were cute and soft and so not a manly pet at all but that was fine. She didn't really care what kind of pets someone owned as long as they didn't jump on her shoulders or slobber on her if she got too close. Or shed, like the damn cat that one of her past boyfriends had owned. The animal was one of the main reasons that relationship had crashed and burned. "Least you found the thing," she said, then realised he hadn't actually said anything about finding her. "Or did you?" She wouldn't be very good at caring for a pet, Rin wouldn't, because she'd end up giving up the hunt and simply walking out of the house. Or she'd let a dog out to piss in the backyard and forget to let it back in. Not that she had a backyard in her apartment, just a small balcony on the fifth floor, but the same principles applied. She'd probably lock a damn cat out there if it meowed too much and pissed her off. Rin simply did not understand anything high-maintenance. She was too selfish to properly care for another living being.
She raised an eyebrow at his claim, wondering for a moment if he was being serious. Deciding that he was, Cat shook her head in exasperated disbelief. "How are you still alive." It was not phrased like a question and she was not actually asking him, at least not seriously. "Three of those could make a fucking elephant die of caffiene shock." Probably not. She liked to exaggerate things and since she was the drama teacher that really wasn't all too surprising. Things were a lot more interesting in excess, she didn't like to hear boring stories about a person's day. Bars were fun because drunken men babbled incessantly about their own accomplishments, making themselves out to be so much better than they actually were. It entertained the young woman a lot more than hearing a drab story about a boring day at work. "Okay, Spiderman, if you're sure." She scoffed but the hint of a smile that remained on her lips betrayed the fact that she was in a relatively good mood. Some people couldn't tell the difference with her since she was just as cocky and blunt no matter what her mood was but a good mood meant she smiled more often. Pretty much it. "Never did like my last name anyway. Or my first." Caterina, blegh, it sounded so... so not her. It was not Rin. She didn't mind Cat if it was the right people but she didn't have any of those people in her life at the morning. None.
She didn't often realise how miserable she made life sound because she wasn't moping as she said it, she was merely being her pessimistic and realistic self. Life sucked and then you died, that was pretty much her sunshine outlook. "Sure it's good," she shrugged. "I don't particularly want to be dead, thanks. I'm not fond of the idea of being eaten by worms." Someone had told her once that bugs ate their way through coffins over time and the whole image of being swarmed by maggots and worms revolted her. She'd never thought to look up whether this happened to the average deceased. It sounded disgusting and so it had stuck with her, true or not. "Good. I'd have got up and walked out if you said you'd given up on it, you're one of the few that actually gave a damn about that class." There were others but three kids out of thirty in a class was not what she considered a good record. "Most of 'em see it as an easy course. Hope they enjoyed how hard I worked 'em." She smirked at the thought. Yeah, she definitely didn't have any qualms about bashing her students when she wasn't on the job.
So professional.

Ethan considered himself more of a dog person, but his apartment building didn’t let him have pets and he happened upon Ozzie in the pet store one day and it’s floppy ears were just too adorable and he just had to have her. But his landlords still hadn’t found out yet. He wondered if they’d care. He found himself grateful that they didn’t allow pets because he could hardly remember to feed his rabbit nevermind a dog. “Right, I forgot to include that part—yes, yes I found her fortunately,
” he added with a smile. His dad never allowed them to get a pet deeming that they would ruin the house. He always regretted not being able to have a pet and decided to make up for it once he had his own place, free from the power of a landlord. Ethan had never figured out why he had taken such a strong liking to coffee, or rather, caffeine in general. But the since starting college his addiction had reached a new level, mostly due to all the late rehearsals and hours he had to clock in for his major. Most of the time it was the only thing keeping him going. “ It’s like my super power, I can consume excessive amounts of caffeine without negative effects,” he stated proudly. He never even got shakes or anything. “ Although, I’m not sure where that would come in handy…” He had never really thought about how much sugar and coffee he drank in a day when compared to the average person. Espresso shots in his drink had become a daily thing now. But the thing about coffee for him was he hated the bitter taste so lots of sugar also became a necessity. Ethan smirked at the nickname as he took a swig of his drink. “ Hey, at least you can make a nickname out of it. Not much to do with Ethan,” he said, shrugging. He had no opinions on his name, the only thing was that he was grateful every day for not being named after his father or anyone in his family. Having to carry the family name was one thing, but at least he could separate from them somewhat with his own name. And, from what he’d been told, his mother had given him his name, which he felt proud of. He grimaced at the image Rin had described. “ Ah, no, I’ll have to agree with you on that one. That may be a common opinion,” he said sarcastically. He didn’t often think about death or the literality of it and preferred not to. Actually, most thoughts that depressed him he preferred to push away or suppress. “ I don’t think it’s in my bodily make-up to give up on it. Even if I wanted to, I don’t think I could,” he joked, grinning. And it was true. Acting, singing, the whole nine yards, it was just in him. And he didn’t think it was going anywhere any time soon. “ Good. Those slackers! Not like I ever slacked off in a class before,” he said with a smirk. Sometimes he liked the fact that the kids in his class didn’t take it seriously. It made the whole thing feel more special to him because it actually meant something. “ How’re the kids this year?” he asked, wondering if the general type of kids had changed at all. Well, she supposed that was a good thing. Rin didn't care about a whole lot of things but when it came to people that she actually could tolerate, it wasn't like she wished bad fortune on them. She wasn't the sort of empathetic person that would console a sobbing friend, she'd probably throw a box of tissues at them with a sarcastic quip, but she did care in her own way. It was a bit of a strange and abrasive way, but it was there. "Well, good," she said, and that was all she could think to say. Rin had never been very good at expressing her positive emotions. She was negative a vast majority of the time and so this made a lot of sense. "No clue," she remarked. There really didn't seem to be a lot of use for a coffee-drinking superpower. What a shame. Then she thought of something. "You should call up the carnival, tell them to get on that. Drinking marathon. Better than that fucking marshmallow shit they do." What was it called again? Chubby bunny? Whatever it was, it disgusted her. Cramming your cheeks so full of the stuff that they were packed to burst and trying to talk through it? Ew. The mere thought grossed her out. She didn't even like marshmallows but that was the icing on the shit cake.
She thought about it. "Other than 'Eth'... no, I guess you're right. Sucks to be you." Her lips twitched, though, showing that she was more amused than anything. There were a lot of nicknames that one could make with Rin. Cat, Rin, Rina, she'd even had someone try to call her 'Cattie' once. She'd punched them in the face. Bit of an extreme reaction to a nickname but Rin had been drunk and her anger was out of control when she had a couple drinks in her. It really was not a good idea to give the woman alcohol if she had even the slightest dislike toward you. Or even if she didn't. She was unpredictably dangerous under the influence. "Is it common? Good to know everyone's not as psycho as I thought." She thought highly of herself and not so much about everyone else. Egotistical, vain. She could still hold a decent conversation and she even had friends but Rin was not a selfless person by any means. She was the exact opposite. "Probably be cremated. Fire's better than worms. I'll tell 'em to scatter my ashes on the doorsteps of all my exes, leave little notes or something." She snickered at the thought. Oh, she'd love to freak someone out like that but it probably wouldn't be allowed. What a shame, what a shame.
She supposed that she understood that, the inability to give up doing what you loved. She hated her job as a teacher but she knew that if she quit, acting would probably remain a distant memory when she got a job at a bar or a restaurant. Not that she'd be able to keep a job like that for very long. She wasn't amiable enough for it. "Not in my classes, at least," she smirked when he said that he'd never slacked off. Teachers talked and gossiped about their students all the time and she'd heard some things about him from others but she'd always just shrugged it off. She never cared how well or poor a student did in their other classes as long as hers were treated like they were cared about. Selfish even in the workplace. "Bit hard to tell this early in the year," Rin shrugged. "Most of them don't know their ass from an endtable but a few of them have promise. I'll focus on 'em and see how they do. Hopefully I get at least a few decent ones." The beginning of the year was always a drag. "Must be nice to be in college," she remarked to him. "Surrounded by people who took the class because they wanted to, I mean. A lot of my kids take it because they think it'll be easy." Rin, going easy on someone. That was a laugh.

Whereas Rin wasn’t empathetic, Ethan got very emotional over things. And when a friend felt down, he did whatever he could to make them feel better. He often got too emotionally involved in things. A bunny wasn’t exactly the most common pet for a guy…but it definitely suited Ethan. A white, fluffy rabbit certainly matched Ethan better than a big, tough dog. And he liked that. He nodded in agreement to Rin’s response. He took another slug and smiled into his cup at Rin’s suggestion. “Ooh, I think you’re on to something with that,
” he said, pointing a finger at her. “ I would sweep! I think that’s my new career calling right there.” Of course, Ethan played the game Rin referred to. Doing childish, silly things was something not out of his realm. Ethan huffed overdramatically. “ Oh, such is life!” he responded, pretending to sound as if not having a nickname was the worst thing in the world. Granted, he had nicknames growing up, but they weren’t exactly something he’d like repeated. They were mostly shouted from kids at school, especially during middle school. If there was a period in time he wished to erase from his memory, it was middle school. Not only had he just begun to come out to himself then, but kids were just mean around that age. He shook the arising memories from his mind and concentrated on his coffee and Rin instead. “ Well, I’m such going out on a limb here assuming it’s common but—I’d like to think that’s a safe bet,” said Ethan with a chuckle. “ But I don’t know about everyone not being psycho—people are crazy,” he added, raising his brows and giving her a wry smirk. Ethan gave Rin a look that was mixed with shock, humor, and being creeped out by her comment. “ Well that’s sure a pleasant thought,” Ethan said good-humoredly. “ After that they’d probably think you’re going to haunt them,” he joked, smiling. Ethan remembered Rin’s classes fondly, them being the only ones he cared about in school. He proved to be quite a terrible student in most classes. All the teachers pinned him as lazy but he really wasn’t. Ethan liked working and he always put all his effort into his music and acting. But if he didn’t like something then he didn’t try. He didn’t see the point in it. “ No way, I wouldn’t dare slack off in your class,” he said with a grin. That was why he respected his former drama teacher. He felt that he actually learned in her class because it mattered to him. After all, he didn’t really need to know Calculus to get on Broadway. He nodded at Rin’s words. “ At least you’ve got a few, then. There’s some hope,” he said with a laugh. “ It really is nice. Everyone’s got that same drive, that same fire inside of them. It certainly keeps me going,” he said. “ I remember all the duds in your class back in high school. Boy were they in for a rude awakening,” he told her, laughing. Caterina was tied between hatred and love for people. She didn't get along with a whole lot of them, didn't like most of them, but at the same time she found herself fascinated by humanity. She loved to sit in bars and hear people tell wild and crazy stories, she liked to listen to couples and friends argue, she loved to giggle over Maury Povich and Jerry Springer. It didn't matter to her that the fighting and arguing weren't always authentic, she found it funny. It might be a bit twisted to enjoy conflict but hell, she wasn't a drama teacher for no reason. Rin adored drama. "Yeah, people are pretty nuts," she agreed. "S'what makes them interesting, though. Normal people bore me." What use was a person if they didn't have a billion different quirks and habits that could make her shake her head and roll her eyes, smile? Caterina liked to be entertained and if that meant finding humour in the suffering or daily lives of others, so be it. She was selfish enough that she felt comfortable laughing at someone even if their situation couldn't exactly be helped, though mental illness turned her off completely. It was probably due to her father but she did have a bit of a soft spot for the mentally disabled. She couldn't laugh at them comfortably and would often snap at someone who did.
She smirked at the idea of haunting someone, entertained by the thought. "Maybe I will. They're exes for a reason." That made it sound like she'd broken up with them all because they'd done something to hurt her, didn't it? In reality, through her numerous and tumultuous relationships, the reasons for breaking it off were various. Sometimes she just found the guy too boring, other times he was too controlling, then there had been the boyfriend who'd decided he was going abroad for school. She'd liked him a lot but he was crazy if he thought she was going to move her life for his sakes. No way. And of course there had been a hell of a lot of break-ups that the other party had instigated. Rin wasn't an easily tolerated person. She'd even dated another chick once or twice but both had fell through. The only thing they'd had going for them was looks. "Don't you think haunting someone would be awesome?" She asked the question with a curious sort of seriousness, though she didn't tilt her head or anything like that. "I think freaking the fuck out of that bitch who dumped me in freshman year would be pretty fun. She deserves it." Her eyes glinted with an amused sort of malice. It didn't bother her that she'd admitted to dating a girl because Rin had no shame at all.
Her icy blue eyes glittered as she smirked. "Good thing you didn't, either, or I'd have failed you so fast..." Caterina wasn't a teacher that could be considered sympathetic or understanding. If you slacked off in her class she wouldn't try and bring you back from the brink with encouraging words and a lot of patient effort, she'd give you a zero for your work and laugh internally at the look on your face come grade assessment. It worked on some students by spurring them into the realisation that they'd fail the entire course right quick if they didn't get their act together and the others, meh, they weren't worth it anyway in her eyes. She was glad that theatre was an elective because the amount of students struggling in her class would surely come under a lot more fire from the administration if she were teaching Math or English, some kind of subject that was mandatory for graduation. "It's real fun to call them out in front of everyone. The other kids always love that." Drama kids loved drama as much as she did so when Rin confronted one of the slackers in the middle of the auditorium, the room always went dead quiet with anxious and excited anticipation. She loved that. It was one of the enjoyable parts of her job.
[That's okay, haha!]

Ethan chuckled softly at Rin’s words and nodded in agreement. “That’s for sure. But you need a little kick every now and then,
” he added, grinning. “ I tend to favor oddballs anyways.” He generally liked people, considering himself a people-person. Conversation had always come easy to him and he never minded being in a big crowd. Of course, given his past history with people, he’d become a bit distrusting of people. He preferred to not divulge in too much of his personal life until he truly knew the person. But that wasn’t to say he didn’t like a bit of drama here and there. He thrived off of it actually. And that thirst for drama had gotten him into more than a few encounters over the years. Knowing when to keep out of things wasn’t a strong suit for Ethan. He shrugged at Rin’s suggestion, smirking as he brought his coffee to his lips again. “ Ah, valid point. See who gets the last laugh, yeah?” he reasoned. Now, Ethan couldn’t say the same being as he didn’t have any actual exes. Flings had come and gone over the years but nothing ever stuck. He had always felt inexperienced in the realm of relationships. He simply didn’t know how to hold one. And when a fling broke off with some guy, he found himself indifferent to it. Maybe it was a good thing he had no one to brood over and had never gotten his heart broken, but then again wasn’t that the whole point of being young? Trial and error? Ugh, the whole concept made his head hurt. However, there were some other people he’d like to haunt, even though they weren’t exes. “ Yes, jeez there are a lot of people that deserve some payback. The looks on their faces would be fantastic,” he agreed, chortling. All the people who’d teased him growing up, people who made fun or looked down upon him. Yeah, he wouldn’t mind paying them a visit. “ Well, I can say one thing, and that’s I wouldn’t want a visit from your ghost,” he said lightly, briefly wondering what the girl had done to Rin. Naturally the fact that Rin had dated a girl had passed by Ethan practically unnoticed. Ethan smirked. “ I feel bad for the sorry suckers who walk into your class thinking it’ll be a breeze. They stand no chance.” Well, it was probably the same thing Ethan experienced in every other class in high school. At least in math. Ethan was just not meant to do math. At all. He’d experienced teachers like Rin, at least as far as the no-cutting-slack. He remembered practically begging teachers for extra credit assignments on more than one occasion and being shot down. They often didn’t reward students who never took the effort until the last two weeks of the semester. But he always gave it a shot. So even though he was mocking the kids who slacked in Rin’s class, he was being quite the hypocrite. But it didn’t really matter. “ Wicked, I like it,” he said, snickering. “ I mean, they have to realize you are in fact the drama teacher, no?” And it was true that drama kids did indeed enjoy drama. Practically every show Ethan had been in, there were always dozens of rumors and gossip floating among the cast. But he still hung on every word he heard. He loved it.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Though it might sound a bit sadistic and unfair, Caterina had to admit that she loved getting people back in vicious ways. You broke up with her? Well, it isn't her fault if your new girlfriend gets mailed some embarrassing pictures or hears a rumour that you've been cheating. She didn't care if the break-up was for a valid reason, either. Unless Rin broke it off herself, which was actually the case a lot of the time since she found putting up with others quite difficult, she usually did not forgive the situation easily. She was selfish and she enjoyed pulling one over on people.
She smirked in agreement as she imagined some of her rivals' faces. Though she didn't believe in coming back as a ghost she was now almost wishing it was possible so that she could walk through walls and knock shit over when there was no one else in the room. "I would like to see Seb cry like a bitch. He always did get really whiny about ghosts and shit." Sebastian was the favourite ex, though she still resented him. He was one of the guys who'd been able to handle her on a daily basis. Unfortunately they'd had some pretty major differences, too, like the fact that he believed in spirits. "Curled up in a ball in his bedroom whining to his mother on the phone, I'd bet." She'd always thought that his relationship with his mother was weird. Unnatural. Then again, Rin had never had a mother so it could have simply been resentment for how close the two were.
Rin raised an eyebrow at Ethan and snickered. "Fine, I won't grace your doorstep with my amazing afterlife presence. Your loss." Would she show up to scare her friends, too, if she could? Probably. Rin had a bit of a twisted sense of humour.
Annoying as the lazy students were, it was fun to call them out in front of everyone else. It gave Rin a bit of satisfaction in her day, a feeling that she was on top, and it gave the other students in her class a good laugh. There were a few of the students that actually liked her as a teacher, usually the ones like Ethan who actually cared about the subject and thus managed to slip through the semester without getting into any sort of trouble with her. "Too right. The class would be boring if nothing like that ever happened. Don't you agree?" As a former student, Rin knew that Ethan had witnessed her little dramatic flair more than once. She enjoyed it because it gave her a chance to show off, even on a small degree. She couldn't do big pictures or make the A-list but at least she could have the limelight for a small amount of time.
Upon finishing her drink, Rin leaned back in the chair in a slouch that was both unladylike and unprofessional. As usual, she did not give a shit. Caterina did what she wanted, enough said. "So, hear any interesting rumours lately?" She made no secret of the fact that she absolutely loved gossip of any kind.
