Not really Sky's thing, but it never hurts to socialize. Parties at the Academy weren't usually something she looked forward too, seeing that it was a gathering place of all types of elements. She normally got along with most people, but sometimes things were out of her control. She didn't like confrontation so she stayed away most of the time. Tonight though she had an urge to go out and do something. Staying inside all the time was getting to her and she needed to get out and be in nature. The lake was a big place that most parties were held, and she loved the lake. Water, nature, trees, and most of all, weed. As Sky slowly approached the lake, she saw the lights gleaming off of the lake and smiled. She saw some of her friends sitting around in a grass patch a little back from the lake and headed over there to see what they were doing.
Approaching them, she smelt the wonderful smell that she has came to love over time. She jogged a little the rest of the distance, and plopped down next to them in the circle. HEY! She said grinning widely. Do you mind if i hit that? She said giddy and anxious. Her friends handed her the pipe, and she took a cleansing hit and held it in. She looked around at her friends, and they laughed. Whenever she would smoke she would always make a funny face, she never understood what she looked like, but honestly she didn't care. Her friends still loved her. She giggled and let the smoke out with a sigh of relief. The feeling she got next, calmed her down and made her lay back on the grass like a couple of her friends were doing. She pulled out a cigarette from her pack and lit it inhaling the toxins. She looked up at the sky and watched the stars as she heard the mumbling of other groups of people conversing, and the music in the background. Hitting the pipe a couple more times, she got farther and farther out of reality and into her happy reality. Whenever she got high, she went to a better mind set. Like she could function better and deal with life better.
Skylar got up out of the circle and walked over closer to the lake to see who else was here. When she glances over at a group or younger fire element girls, she sees the person that she really didn't want to see. Altair. Altair was a girl that was two years younger then Sky, but didn't get along with at the least bit. Sky had put Altair in her place one or two times, but with Sky's personality, she just didn't like to be around her. Hateful words have been spat between the two at plenty of party's but nothing serious has happened yet. Sky started to walk away to make sure that Altair didn't she her.
Yay for enemies ! |

Altair could say she was doing good with this whole addiction thing. But she’d be lying. Addictions just didn’t go away, no matter how hard one tried. They didn’t fade with time, and they remained a part of her. She heard her counsellor say that it was like with alcoholics, how they’ll always be alcoholics—she was surprised she actually remembered the words with how little attention she paid the man. It was the same for addicts, apparently. Never goes away. Neither did the pain, apparently. The only thing that went away was what she wanted to keep, her sister.
And was she changing? She couldn’t really tell. Sure, by now the wound of Syria’s death had scabbed over, at times scratched off by carelessness. But Altair couldn’t tell. She had noticed that she didn’t care as much about other people, about the fighting. Sure, she’d stopped picking them for no reason, but she still enjoyed violence. Of course she did, it was something she was good at. To add, she really was trying to slow down on the partying. Unfortunately, it wasn’t owrking too good, but at least she hadn’t been getting in trouble…? No calling up Rowena to bail her out of jail, that’s for sure. And tonight, she hadn’t been drinking. Which meant she was far from in a good mood. Instead, she relied on nicotine, which barely helped her anyway.
A group of girls in her grade surrounded her, and when they talked, she mainly stuck to dry humor and bawdy comments. Altair was not the friednly type, and she was generally unapproachable. She didn’t even care about the alliances before, not really, and she’d never made friends anywhere. Syria had been in Water, and the three girls hadn’t grown up with their elements like other had. They were chastised by their parents, and therefore abandoned something that might have changed their lives. What would have happened if they’d never gotten into modelling? If Syria’s friend hadn’t died, if Rowena hadn’t gotten in trouble with the law? If she hadn’t taken the fall? What if they hadn’t become the self-destructive Bennett triplets? It didn’t matter anymore. All that was passed and all she could think about was the fact that she had had the power to save her triplet.
Noticing Sky from the corner of her eye, her pink lips twitched into a malicious smile. ”Oh, didn’t know any Earth pussies would be around. I thought it was just the lake that smelled like fish,” she drawled, not holding any verbal punches. The girl was vulgar and tasteless, and she didn’t really care. She had had issues with Skylar before, and so it wasn’t like she was doing this randomly like she might have before, when she was still the new girl with her sisters by her side. ”Should have known, with all the pothead hippies.” Altair rolled her eyes. She didn’t really do bud, but it wasn’t like she was anyting close to clean-cut. She just had a lot of pride. Snapping her fingers, she made a few sparks of fire flare up. It was weak without her usual catalyst of a lighter, but it kept her occupied. She waited for any sort of comeback from the Earth bitch.
