Asha had been nothing but miserable for the past week. Ashton wasn't able to file in any time for her, which had weighed down on her considerably, even if she did not admit it out loud. Somehow it felt offensive towards Asha when he advised that they refrained from any type of public interaction. It made complete sense, since he was Earth leader and currently a war had started between Water and Fire. To have relations with who had once been the most notorious girl in Fire would not have been a wise choice on Ashton's part. On top of the strain in her friendship with Asha she had to have her whole schedule rearranged. Luckily, her skills only slightly surpassed what the eleventh grade class had currently been learning. It had been easy enough to convert all of her classes into grade eleven classes. Talk had circulated and more than plenty of stares were being thrown her way. She didn't deal with attention well anymore. People called out to her and she could only grumble in response. So, a whole week full of lingering glances had not made her a happy person.
The Fire common room was supposedly a place of refuge for all of the students who blazed with the flames. No longer did it feel that way to Asha. Once she had been able to laze around in a serious lack of clothing, hanging on Shea and practically commanding the whole room. Now she was hesitant to even venture down with even a quarter of the absence clothing and heedless attitude From Before Asha would have possessed. Her preferred space had now become her room, which she had requested to be a solitary dormitory. Company would have made her uncomfortable, which had only been slightly exaggerated. Besides Ashton, she was still as shameless as she had ever been before. Just sometimes the stares left her feeling like she had given them a reason to gape at her. Even Asha Woods got a little self conscious at times, a little surprising but still true. The first day after classes had been through Asha had settled down in the common room without a thought, falling back into the old routine of things. Some of the fellow seniors had begun to press questions on her and resorted to some physical measures. She fled to her dormitory in minutes. Asha Woods had ran. Rumors flared about the next day.
Currently she had ventured down into the common room in the early afternoon, taking advantage of the lack of Fire students because they had something more interesting to do with their Sunday morning. Aspen staying with his friend for the weekend had been the only reason that Asha hadn't returned home. Her mother had assured her daughter that she could carry on for three days without having her daughter dropping by to check up on her state. She felt highly unwanted and decided that instead of wallowing in her dormitory she could reward herself with some time down in the common room. Becoming a hermit wasn't going t make anything better. Her bare feet padded into the room, looking over the burn marks and furniture that was strewn about in disarray. Feeling comfortable, she shrugged off her hoodie and instantly felt her whole body cool. Heat was always an issue in the common room. Asha plopped lazily down onto a couch, curling up tightly and soon letting reality go. Drifting off in the middle of the common room surely wouldn't be the most logical decision that she had ever made.

He was not supposed to be here. Joshua could practically taste the tension in the air as he glanced around the dungeon to ensure the coast was clear before slipping down the tunnel. It was dark and shadowy as no one had lit the torches but to Joshua it felt that doing so would shine a spotlight on his presence. He could still recall with clarity the last time he'd tried to sneak into the Fire dormitories during war and he'd gotten busted pretty badly. He could take on one or two eleventh or twelfth graders but a dormitory full of them and he was absolutely in deep water, especially since there were college seniors in the dorm that could take him on single-handedly and kick his ass without question. He worried about these things as he reached the heavy, locked door and slid the key into it. There was a moment where his paranoia convinced him that it would not work and that he would be stuck here as other Fire elementals came down the tunnel from the other end but that was quickly dismissed as there was a soft click and he was able to push the door open. The common room was shadowy as usual with the only lights coming from multiple fireplaces around the room. The blast of heat hit him, comforting like an old friend and reminding him of what he had abandoned by taking the Other Side.
Shaking his head, Joshua pushed away any doubts he might have been having. Even though he'd had a less clear choice in this war seeing as Nell was not the target he had made his decision so that the couple did not need to go into hiding over this. It might have been stupid to choose his girlfriend over his element but Nell's element and their allies had treated him a lot better than Fire and Thunder had lately so he didn't regret it too much. Still, the warmth of the dormitories could immediately be felt relaxing his muscles and allowing him to breath easier. I can't stay long, he reminded himself sternly. Though he would have liked to sink into an armchair and enjoy the atmosphere this was forbidden territory for him. He was not here to cause any damage or make trouble for his former allies--no, he'd left his laptop in the dormitory and needed it for schoolwork. It seemed a reckless decision to break into enemy lines for a computer but he was counting on the research and papers he had stored on it. Trying to breath and step as softly as possible the Fire elemental took the boys corridor all the way to the end and to the left, heading toward where the singular dormitories were. He had never enjoyed the idea of a roommate and never would.
Thanks to the fact that he had the only key and the locks had not been changed in his brief absence the dormitory was not trashed and his laptop was still sitting on the end of the bed where he had left it. Retrieving his prize, he closed the door behind him and started to hurry for the exit. It was only the sight of the sleeping figure on the couch that made him freeze. He had not noticed her at first because the back of the couch had been facing him upon entry to the room but this new angle shed a new light on the situation. Shit. He was in the act of trying to creep past without waking her when he realised that she was familiar. "Asha?" His hushed voice was filled with shock. Joshua hesitated. He had heard about what had happened of course and he'd missed his friend dearly over the past half a year but she was apparently the enemy now, judging by the way she slept in their dorms without fear. Should he leave her to sleep? Would she attack him if he did not? But in the end it was concern for his friend that made him abandon his quest and rest his laptop on the table before gently shaking his friend. "Asha," he said, a little louder than before but still soft enough that he didn't wake anyone in the dorms. "Hey, Asha, wake up. I didn't know you were back!"
