Aaron walked along the academy grounds, knowing where he was heading yet not having to think about it. He was heading straight for the beautiful academy gardens. It was a natural place to find earth elementals really. When he reached the academy gardens, he walked around for a minute looking at the garden. It was gorgeous, to him and probably many other earth elementals. He noticed there were some other people there, but ignored them acting like he couldn't hear them because of the ear buds he had in his ears. The music wasn't started yet, but it was a good way to not get yelled at for ignoring people.
He started his music, feeling slightly mean for just ignoring people. He sat down on the ground, pulling out two plants he had been growing naturally from his bag, setting them down he made them grow. He liked the way that looked, but decided he wanted to do something. Making two more grow in each small pot with the plants he started manipulating them to look like they were dancing. He started singing along quietly to the song he had been listening to making the flowers dance to it. "Where is the moment we needed the most?" He slowly bobbed his head with the piano. It was one of his favorite songs, Bad day by Daniel Powter. "They tell me your lifes been way off line, you falling to pieces every time."
He knew he was getting odd looks, from the few that had heard him. But, he was completly interested in the plants infront of him and the song focusing on them. "You said you dont know, you tell me dont lie. You work on a smile and you go for a ride." He smiled at the flowers, they weren't as beautiful as the ones in the garden normally, but he had worked rather fast on them since he wanted to try out making them dance. "So where is the passion when you need it the most? Oh you and i you kick up the leaves and the magic is lost..." He listened silently to the rest of the song, still making the flowers dance before it ended.
When the song ended he stopped concentrating so much, and let the flowers be. He decided that he would leave the plants, being they werent a project or anything just for personal fun. Digging the roots out, along with some soil he put the plants next to the others. Slowly making the plants roots grow into the new soil he smiled listening to the next song that came on silently unaware of anyone else in the garden anymore.

Ashton spent a great deal of his time in the gardens. It was a nice place to relax without worrying about Fire elementals popping up and using their powers to destroy everything. It was practically forbidden to use your powers in this place unless it was for the good of the plants--even the Earth kids would get a warning if they accidentally messed something up. He remembered getting a detention in his freshman year for thinking that he could manipulate one of the exotic plants and finding out that he was very, very wrong about that. He had grown more conscious of the delicacy that the plants of the Academy's gardens held, now, so he was much more careful when it came to the rare hybrids. It was usually only the college students that could manipulate the rarest of breeds without damaging them or reverting them back to their original species. Still, even if he was operating under a 'look, don't touch' motto, this was still a nice place to be.
Singing in the garden caught him off guard, causing the Earth leader to glance back over his shoulder expectantly. It had came from somewhere in that direction, but he couldn't quite see the singer through all of the plants and hedges that grew around the gardens. Curious about whomever was singing--they had quite a nice voice, he realised--Ashton followed the sound until the hedges opened out into an area where a boy was sitting and manipulating two plants to the sound of his voice. It was a neat little trick. The guy was still singing, and Ashton decided not to call attention to himself. He recognised him as Aaron Lerman. They were not friends, but he did know his name and he was comfortable saying hello. He had no intentions of startling the other guy out of his song, however, so he stood back and just listened, silently marvelling the plant show as well.
Once Aaron had finished and allowed the plants to return to normal, Ashton clapped jokingly and then smiled a bit as he wandered over to where the other boy was sitting. "That was pretty entertaining, I've gotta admit," he said brightly. It didn't take much to impress Ashton and the fact that this guy could sing and manipulate these newly created plants was enough to do it. He watched as the boy started to replant the creations into the ground. "Aaron, right?" He was pretty sure that he had gotten it right--it was his job as leader to know the names of the other Earth elementals, after all. He was sure that a few of them would have slipped his mind but he was ninety percent positive about this guy. "I'm Ashton. How'd you manage to focus on singing and manipulating the plants at the same time? That was pretty neat." It was an honest compliment, but then again, everything that Ashton did was honest and genuine.

He smiled when the plants seemed to willingly grow into the soil. Popping his ear buds out, he could still hear his music and was rather surprised. He was never one to listen to music too loud, and it was even more surprising, since he had never had rock music on it so he could actually only hear the soft music. Turning the music down, he listened lyrics to the song going through his head. He had never had much music that he actually bothered listening to, so he knew most of the lyrics of any song he listened to. This was probably his favorite song he listened to, Wordplay by Jason Mraz. It was a rather interesting music video, if you had ever seen it. He was a bit surprised at the clapping, but tried to hide it which he had gotten surprisingly well at hiding emotions. When he realized it was Ashton, he smiled. "Thanks, I hope it was. Wasn't exactly expecting to be scared to death by an earth student today, was quite entertaining to me also." He realized why it stood out to him so much that Ashton was a earth student and mentally slapped himself into dust. "Yep, and you wouldn't happen to be Ashton right?" He quickly turned his music off, trying not to be rude since he was talking to Ashton. "Not really all that hard, at least to me. I don't really have to focus on singing much if at all. It used to be something i did all the time when listening to music, so its kind of a natural reaction or something like that i guess..." He didn't even like revealing that much about his past, let alone anything about it. He felt that he needed to give Ashton at least that small explanation though, since it was honestly so little about himself. "What about you, got any cool tricks you can do im allowed to know about?" It was a simple enough question, and aaron wouldn't mind if there was a trick and he couldn't know about it or anything.

Ashton laughed slightly and ducked his head when Aaron revealed that he had startled him. "My bad, man," Ash said by way of apology. His tone was light, however, and he didn't feel too guilty about it. If Aaron had really been upset he probably wouldn't have been so good-natured with his words. They were Earth elementals after all, their kind weren't exactly the most vicious or cold. If it had been a Fire student he might have gotten burned, shocked if they were Thunder, but Aaron just seemed to be in a good mood all around. This relieved Ashton. "Yep, I'm Ashton," he repeated, wondering if his earlier introduction had slipped Aaron's mind thanks to the music blaring in his ears. Oh well. It wasn't like the Earth leader was offended by this. It took a lot more than that to get on his bad side.
Aaron explained to him why he was able to play around with the plants without losing concentration in his singing, and Ashton just nodded as if this made perfect sense. The Earth boy didn't think that he would be able to do such a thing considering he wasn't exactly the singing sort, but he was impressed nonetheless. It wasn't like he was going to call Aaron a liar when he had clearly seen what the other boy was capable of doing. "That's really cool," he said with a smile. "Everyone has their talents, I suppose." The college students got a kick out of showing off theirs, mainly because with their high stamina they could knock the work of the high schoolers out of the park. Neither Aaron nor Ashton had reached that calibre yet, sadly. It would be another year and a half for Ashton and half a year before Aaron reached college age. Was the other boy going to college? Ashton might have asked, but the fact that they weren't quite friends made him hesitate.
Ashton chuckled. "Probably not," he admitted. "I haven't done much in the sense of experimenting and you're in a higher year than me." He didn't mind the fact that Aaron was more experienced than he was even though he was the leader and thus supposed to be some sort of role model. Next year, if all went well, he'd be able to lead with all the power of a twelfth grader. The leaders didn't always get to stay on for the next year but he didn't mind either way. He loved the Earth students and would lead them if they asked, but he'd also understand if they wanted fresh blood. "So, apart from your singing, how are you?"
