Nell sat on the ground as she wrote down in the notebook, dirt hard-packed beneath her butt. The sun sat hazy in the distance, obscured by clouds. There was only a light covering of snow on the ground, black and discolored. No one went to this place unless they were up to something, and judging by her set up, she was up to something. "Citric acid, he anime fuel tablets, hydrogen peroxide..." she murmured, the notebook balanced on her knee. She stuck her tongue back out in concentration, writing down her hypothesis for the experiment. It was quite simple, really. There was nothing much that could vary with explosives unless she wanted to truly go in depth. She adjusted the goggles as they began to slip from the top of her head. It might have been a good idea to also be wearing gloves and other protective items, but she was over-confident. "Never become a scientist," her father had once warned her when they were in his lab and she had been labeling vials with pictures in sharpie marker on tape. Nell had quipped that she wanted to grow up and be just like him. At one point, this was true.
Her nerves strung tight as she thought about that man, how he was doing. She was terrified for him. In a way it calmed her to know that all her efforts in getting back in touch with him were worth it because she truly did care, but more than that she was going out of her mind. Every day the girl went over his house to make sure he was eating right, doing good. Much to her disdain, he was still going to work and she couldn't find it in her to argue with him on that. They were much too similar in the stubbornness, their independence and desire to always be doing something. She had gotten a lot from the man that she had once believed she could never forgive. Did she forgive him? In a way, Nell didn't think there could be true forgiveness in their situation. She believed that they could only move on and think about the future. Even with that in mind, she still yearned to speak with him about the past. Now it all seemed like too much. She didn't deserve anything from him when she was doing such a cruel thing as making Rafael live with him. Nell didn't know whether it made her feel better or worse that her father seemed to know what was going on. Of course he could tell when she was lying, he was her father.
She shivered when she felt a slight breeze, before taking a note down that the conditions were slightly windy. Being an Earth elemental wasn't so easy this time of year, not with all the cold and snow. She had noticed a negative effect on her gift, but luckily not as much as last year. She looked up and brushed some strands of hair out of her face, looking at the expanse of dirt, trees spotting the area belong. Setting the notebook on a low-lying boulder next to her, she got up and took the lighter from her pocket. The explosive was hooked up to a Barbie Doll, and she ran as soon as she lit it. There was only a moment of pure silence before the loud bang, a fireball forming and dissipating. "Woohoo!" she cried out, clapping her hands together. She'd have loved to share this with someone, but she didn't have anyone to drag around today. Nell bent down to the crate she'd brought full of bottles of chemicals and cleaning supplies.

((OH YEA, my muse is a booming right now! XD lol))
Enzair was just walking around when he heard a explosion, peaked in interest since he loves explosions and the smell of the gunpowder he headed in that direction. In-fact he himself was off to blow some shit up, his large back pack was packed full of combustible household chemicals and industrial chemicals. All padded of course, he was not about to blow himself up today, too young to die.
Enzair halted in place and just stared blankly at the person who he found to be Nell. ‘Nell? Really, an earthy with explosives…’ he thought. Quite surprising, sure he did not know Nell by the slightest bit but hell; this was new to him, an Earth elemental, the Pacifist who likes explosions. It was no doubt that Nell had heard of the incident between him an Earth then Joshua. Enzair believed once she saw him, she won’t be too happy… that’s if she heard of the incident.
However, Enzair then approached Nell with caution, being killed by an earth worm by one of their explosions would be embarrassing… well not that he would feel it since he would probably be all over the place. Limbs over there, legs in a tree, and everything else be mush, which would be disturbing. However, ridding the thought from his head he continued on with hesitation because it looked like she had nothing to explode at the moment.
“This is a hell of a site indeed… I never knew a pacifist earth like you would enjoy explosions as much as a fire student, it’s a shame… you might have made an excellent fire elemental,” Enzair commented sarcastically with a little hint of a fake sour tone, enzair was not exactly mad or upset, really right now he was enjoying himself, having a good attitude right now. Hopefully Nell won’t blow his good mood; he had a bad mood all day in school before, got himself in a heap of trouble.

Being a calm person, she merely blinked when she heard the familiar voice out of nowhere, a moment before her characteristic smile stretched across her face. She turned and flicked the goggles back on top of her head, pulling her bangs back somewhat. Not wearing makeup, she didn’t worry about rubbing at her eye to make sure nothing was in it before speaking. "Hola Enzair. What brought you out here?" It was out of the way for sure, and she was curious as to what drew him to this place. It was empty and bare, and as an Earth elemental it made her a little sad. The entire season of winter did, all the plants dormant and dead. She just had to keep in mind that spring would arrive soon enough. And unlike last year, she was completely healthy, if not a little stressed.
He made comment on the fact she was an Earth elemental, and he was lucky they were alone. She didn’t like talking about her element outside of school where it was safe and there was no threat of government interference. The castle was like a land unto itself, untraceable and protected. She was safe there, all elementals had asylum. She was tempted to roll her eyes—always with the Earth bashing. "Element doesn't dictate all my hobbies," she said with her perpetual smile. Gardening may not have been a result of her element considering she loved plants even before she found out about her gift. But her connection to nature certainly emphasized it. Maybe her element was always meant to be. Nell liked the idea of it.
She snorted when he noted the potential of her as a Fire. In a way, she wished she was. Then Josh wouldn’t have been through so much because of her, wouldn’t have had to switch sides. And maybe they would be more compatible. She loved him as he was, but weren’t Fire elementals drawn to each other? Never mind the attraction she already felt, it was disheartening to think of the fact that he lost his alliance because of her. "Would I have?" And it was actually a curious thing, she wondered about life as a Fire elemental. It certainly would be warmer. "Good to know that you believe I could be one of you." She didn't say it patronizingly, she never meant to actually upset or irritate anyone. Let alone a Fire elemental who could quite easily whip her ass, and not only because she didn't fight back. Fire would always be stronger than her.
An idea came to mind then, and she glanced out to where the Barbie doll lay smoldering. She gave a silent salute to the lost veterinarian. She had lost her plastic life for a good cause, however. "You said you liked explosives right?" She remembered it from their conversation-argument…thing. Whatever had passed between them. Nell didn’t like arguments, tried to avoid them, but they were inevitable with certain people. Like her father and Jane. Nodding her head to the crate, she asked, "Any good with these?" A lot of chemicals that she had gotten with her father. She hated to admit that she needed help from anyone, let alone him, but she understood that he knew a lot more than her about the scientific world. And he could at least warn her away from the things that she shouldn’t be using in her experiments.

“of course I am, who would I be if I did not know,” replied Enzair.
Enzair set his bag on the ground gently, took out a few chemicals and a solid yet thin plastic case. Enzair then took out some jell crystals, (dry crystals that can absorb 500 times their own weight and volume, like in diapers). The case was about the size of a fist, Enzair poured in just a dash of the crystals set it down poured one yellow liquid in it. He then pulled out a thin glass filled it with some high grade acid sealed it with a string attached to the pop on lid and gently put it in the case. He then sealed the case with a lid.
“Whatever you do… don’t look at it,” Warned Enzair. He then prepared to throw his little grenade bomb, pulled the sting and quickly threw it up high and far. 3 seconds later when it was just feet from the ground a bright light enveloped the area for a second, in the mean time Enzair was looking down after he tossed it and when it went off he then looked up to watch its fireball spread out unto the ground like a small wave spreading about 5 ft in diameter.
“Very unstable but very effective, just some Nitric Acid and a little of my secret ingredient and some jell crystals, and you got a homemade flash grenade,” said Enzair
“I tell you what, the person who makes the biggest explosions win, we can share chemicals since it looks like you have some I don’t, and I have many you don’t,” Challenged Enzair.
This would be the only kind of game he would play with and earth elemental or water. Enzair did not care about winning this kind of game all he cared about was to see some spectacular explosions.

Even though she couldn't say she liked Enzair (and she didn't hate him either) she wasn't stubborn enough that she couldn't admire his skill. She gripped her arms behind her back as she watched, ignoring the chill brought about by the light wind. Her jacket was pretty thick, enough that she could protect herself from the harhness of the elements. Nell nodded when he warned her away from looking, flicking down her goggles to cover her eyes. "All right." She certainly didn't want to be blinded by the explosive, assuming that's why he was telling her not to look at it. Some childish stubbornness encouraged her to sneak a peak, but common sense disallowed it. No matter how much she wanted to mess with him for being so mean to her kin, she knew better. She could keep herself under control, only a rare few people could actually get her worked up.
Nell stepped back a bit when he threw the grenade, watching from the corner of her eye until it spread out in a burst. Now that was something impressive, it got the adrenaline going in her veins. The Earth graduate could feel the energy now, pulsating in her ears. She flashed her teeth in a grin. "Nice," she complimented, obviously impressed, another thing she didn't mind admitting to even though they did not get along. It was a similar relationship with Jane--she despised the woman but respected her talent nonetheless. She believed it was wrong to deny someone rightful acknowledgement no matter who they were. Then it was just like lying. "Got some pretty good firepower behind that. Guess you really are your element." Again, it didn't count for much considering her own love of explosions while being an Earth, but she thought she should just mention it. Really, that was a spectacular sight. If only they had a crowd, that would be something else. Nell wanted everyone to be able to witness this, to gain joy from it.
She looked down at the materials, brown eyes keen and focused. Sometimes she may have acted like a ditz, but she was not empty up in the cranium. "I've never really used Nitric acid," she mused. It wasn't top on her list of chemicals to use, but she figured she should at least try it. His challenge caught her attention and her grin only broadened. Nell loved a challenge, it got her going, got her to step up her game. She may have not been confident in herself, but she knew enough about chemicals and experimenting to hold her weight. She could do this. "You're on," she told him. "What'll be the prize?" She was a cardshark, a gambler, there was usually a prize involved with her. Of course, for her, winning would be enough. She could get competitive, especially in sports, but more along the lines of playful competitive. Some people took things way too seriously, and that just wasn't for her.

“Well, I can give you free lessons in martial arts if you want, but that will have to remain strictly secret considering it is illegal for me to train you without the license, I can get you in with my Sensei for half price which will be $200, OR… I can offer up 5 grand, you chose, if you want the money you will have to match it in case that I win or offer your best and it must be on your person, if not offer your part,” Said Enzair as he pulled out a wad of hundreds, five thousand dollars
In martial Arts he will train anyone who wants the training for defense even if they are an enemy, it’s part of a code he has that he has to swear to his heart for the Sensei to train him.
Enzair’s little secret ingredient was his mixture of flammable liquid and pure magnesium hence the bright light and wave of inferno, the Nitric acid ignited the liquid and lit the high concentration of magnesium all at once. But since it was put in a crystal jell the ignition was delayed for a few seconds, and a few seconds only.
That five grand is normally his emergency money but since he is getting paid tomorrow it’s no problem if he loses it all. Enzair knew all about explosions, well not all but he knew enough to make a hell of a bomb if given the time.

Nell blinked at the Fire student incredulously. Not at the part about martial arts, no. About the amount of money. Five grand. She stared when he took out the wad of cash. She kept her hands aat her side, expression completely blank, face straight. And where did he get off having that kind of money? Where did he even get it from? ”Oy, vato, some of us aren’t loaded.” She’d never been, grew up in dire straits. She knew poverty better than she knew wealth, even thoguh she now lived in a mansion with her affluent fiance. Because right now she was paying her dues to Rafael and even though her job paid well, it wasn’t that well. Her family, her fiance, was more important than Enzair, even though the challenge (and money) beckoned her. She was a ramblin’, gamblin’…girl, and therefore things like this drew her in like a moth to the flame.
For risk of being considered a pussy, she said, ”I can front two-hundred. That’s it.” She didn’t say money matters were complicated at this point in time, she was prideful when it came to money. She didn’t allow anyone to pay for her, didn’t let people know just how much she had at any time so they wouldn’t take pity or anything. She’d just told Enzair because he acted live five grand was cash to throw away in a bet. She was a frugal person, she’d sooner superglue something together to fix it than send it in for repairs. Five grand was to be saved up for something more important. ”I’d be more willing to take up the martial arts wager. Where do you train?” Nell didn’t like violence, but she enjoyed learning new things. Besides, what could it hurt anyway? It wasn't like she could physically cause anyone damage even if she tried. She knew she wasn't strong because she didn't train like martial artists did. There was no reason for her to hone fighting skills because she didn't confront anyone.
Then she realized that she needed to give her own wager. What could she give to him should she lose? If he didn't go with the money option, she had quite a bit she could hand over. As a person who'd do anything for anyone, stranger or enemy, this was something that had ingrained in her mind over the years. ”In turn, I’ll offer up music lessons. How’s that sound?” She played piano and tenor sax, knew a bit about music and even more now that she worked at the hall. If she couldn’t do it, someone at the hall could. One she had in mind, and the idea was almost too malicious for her. Almost. ”Really, anything else you might want me to put up for wager.” She didn't have any limits, surprisingly. There was nothing she wouldn't do for another person.

“Two hundred, yea that better than tossing away five grand, its half my pay anyway,” Said enzair pocketing his money.
“I train at the Jade Dragon the next town over from the Hollow, it’s mostly a meditative Style, light on feet, fluent and smooth. But if utilized in a fight it can be deadly, you learn pressure points for defense and meditation, I am a Second Dan Black belt, or a second degree as it is commonly called,” Enzair explained.
Enzair listen to her offer for a moment, he had been working with a band, music was nice a good vent to let of some steam, mostly it’s for enjoyment.
“I play a guitar in our local Academy Band, the ‘Fire Ferrets’ I guess I could use some pointers in creating my own music, and more complicated cords. I also play the base, the violin, and a little Piano, mostly two and single notes a few three notes, negative and positive but mostly positive,” explained Enzair.
The Academies little ban called the Fire Ferrets was not just fire elementals; there was fire, thunder and wind elementals. It was dubbed Fire Ferrets because the founder is a fire and the lead singer is a fire. The most they do right now is tribute play other songs that they know.

Nell was half-tempted to ask him about his job, but she didn't know how well he would respond to such a question. If they were strangers and yet still on good terms, she'd have come right out with her curiosity. When Enzair elaborated on the type of martial arts he practiced, her interest piqued. A meditative style? She could definitely do that. "Okay, yeah, definitely into that." She nodded her head as if to ascertain this, pushing her goggles further up the bridge of her nose. She felt like one of those dorks in the movies just then, and imagined herself in a lab coat. She'd considered stealing one of her father's a few times, but she wouldn't feel too comfortable doing so.
She lifted her eyebrow, amused expression dancing across her face. Yes, even though she didn't like him too much or dislike him, she could still find him pretty funny. "Fire Ferrets?" What an entertaining name. She had to guess that it was a band of Fire elementals, though she could be wrong. Not everything had to be about elements. "I play sax." Not too well, but she was still learning. She went to an elderly man's house every Sunday to take care of his plants and his old bloodhound. He used to be a jazz musician and he spoke with a gravelly tone. An interesting man, she enjoyed listening to his stories. "If it's something you want." She shrugged her shoulders. If not, she'd come up with something else.
Her own secret ingredient for her explosion was acetone peroxide, something that she had always been advised against. But she was just a big fan of danger, wasn't she? She set her bottled concoction out far enough and lit the rag fuse with her lighter before running off and saying, "There might be a bit of shrapnel." She was almost tempted to hide behind him when the fuse hit the peroxide and detonated, creating a noise that broke the sound barrier. The cloud spiraled out, and she looked at him. "So what do you think?" Nell questioned the Fire student. She was pretty proud of it, but she wanted to make certain they were on the same page.

((You win, Enzairs was just a flash grenade a real pain to make but it’s no bomb XD))
“I play the guitar and base,” said Enzair, placing his hand on his left arm, he was not use to the cast so it felt like it was just put on.
Enzair did not exactly listen to her warning; it was no military grade fragment grenade that will send a wall of shrapnel at you. But none the less it is still dangerous. Enzair’s ears rang a bit after the explosion and he felt something hard hit his arm cast but bounced off. Enzair slid up his coat sleeve to check his cast, it was fine and so he slid back down his coat sleeve.
“Nice, I’ll give that one to you, simply because I had doubt mine would work, most of the time it does not work. Either the acid was tainted or I got the liquid mixed up again,” Enzair looked at his jacket and seen that the left arm was torn from the shrapnel. Enzair then took it off and said, “There go’s that one.”
Enzair’s cast was black that he had decorated with some red tribal designs by using a mostly clear transparent cover cloth. Only the Crimson red Tribal designs were solid, the rest was as clear as crystal, well as clear as it can get but it looks clear as crystal to show the full depth of the black shade. It covered from his palm which went around his thumb all the way to just bellow his elbow, it restricted his hand movement severely only able to use his fingers really, it was a hard cast about an centimeter thick, typical hard cast.
“I suppose you win,” Enzair said as he took the wad of cash from his pocket and took out two hundred, sticking the rest in his pocket he handed the two hundred to Nell. “I’ll see you there sometime, but for now let’s not end the day so short,” finished Enzair.
It certainly sounded like Enzair liked Nell but he did not simply because of her element, but it does not mean he has to be rude or cruel to her all the time, that much stress is unhealthy and does not suit Enzair’s style especially since he trains in an ancient meditative style of which can also be utilized as a deadly combat style, don’t be mistaken by that.

Nell smiled brightly as if the sun shone from behind her teeth. She really was proud of her little bomb, she was good with them. Molotovs were one of the first she learned. Nell remembered Devin had been a little concerned when she told him about it, but there was no way she'd actually use any of these explosives around people. "I might need to write that one down," she said, nodding to the notebook on the ground. "I mostly know certain things from experimenting myself." It wasn't the safest thing to do, now was it? But hey, she had goggles at least. She could take care of herself. Besides, she wasn't ignorant of these chemicals, she knew them well to know which ones not to mix together lest it was a chemical reaction that she really did not want.
She straightened up when she saw that his jacket had been torn. Clearly he had not been thinking about the debris. She felt a pang of guilt, knowing that it was her fault that he'd been shredded. "Ah crap, are you hurt?" she asked. He took off his jacket and then she noticed the cast, making her eyebrows wrinkle in concern. Since it was in a cast, she knew she didn't have anything to worry about. Unless the shrapnel had managed to damage him further. "What happened to your arm?" She was a curious person, she asked questions, especially when it came to injuries. She'd never had a cast before, though there may have been a few times when she needed it. Unfortunately, such a thing had not be en allowed to her as a child. Medical care didn't mean casts for her, unfortunately.
Nell held up her hand when he offered her the money, giving him a grin. "Keep it," she said. "I did get your arm, after all." She had made a bet, but eh, she didn't really need the money. She never thought about such things much, actually, not until lately. Even growing up poor. As a child, you didn't know if you were poor or not. You were happy with whatever. You were innocent. Sometimes Nell wished she could have kept that innocence. "What did you have in mind?" she asked when Enzair said that they shouldn't end the day so soon. It was weird, that she wasn't feeling so antagonistic toward him now. There was still some bitterness left over from the fact he'd insulted her kind, but she was a forgiving person. Too forgiving.

“Got in a fight, Earth worm broke it, but I broke his ribs an eye for an eye,’’ said Enzair, not exactly a pleasant tone on the subject, he did not like to talk about it. Even though enzair started the whole thing if he is hurt enzair will hurt them back, worse at that too.
Enzair kneeled down and took a bunch of more chemicals out, a lot of high grade industrial chemicals, and some rather nasty ones too like acid, one unmarked container made of plastic was marked as such, a high grade acid that eats through anything but plastic. Very dangerous on its own, but it makes for a lovely grenade without fire, since enzair knows how long it takes for it to burn through glass it makes for a great time bomb. Well one that lasts about 10 seconds before it explodes but still.
‘I don’t know… perhaps blow more shit up?” joked Enzair. Enzair paused for a moment, Hell he was in a good mood he could not believe he made a friendly joke to an enemy. Shaking the thought out of his head he continued to grab stuff out.
Enzair grabbed a little glass vial and a few bottles of powder, a sort of homemade C4, it burns quicker so it makes for a bigger boom. A little bit of this a lot of that and mixing in a bit of water from his water bottle, Enzair opened a cloth bag a pulled out a LED and then stripped the light emitting part of it so the wires that send the electricity are exposed., wireless one, a push of a button it will try to light it up but since the light part was striped that little electrical circuit will be its detonator. The vial was about the size of a mouse. Enzair then wrapped it in a thin layer of duck tape and tossed the vial at a safe distance. Enzair pulled a remote from the bag, a simple one with an on and off button.
Enzair pressed the on button and not a moment later a supersonic ear ringing explosion rippled across the field. A small rock that it so happened to be next to when the explosion was set off went flying through the air, opposite direction of Nell and Enzair and bounced off a tree with a resounding thud.
“That’s your homemade Grenade right there,” laughed enzair.
The was a hole in the ground afterward, about 6 inches deep and wide. Enzair certainly could have beaten Nell with this one but he liked the flash bang better. Enzair pressed the off button and his little glowing back of LED’s went out.
“Met you Fiancée in detention in school, got in a little heated argument, almost turned into a brawl,” Said Enziar. As he waited to see what else Nell had in store for explosions. Surely she had something better, but it was impressive a single ingredient explosion. Enzair can make a bomb out of metal sparklers and some duck tape and make the same explosion, safer, no shrapnel, and enzair liked that jacket too.

Nell lifted an eyebrow. She wasn't an eye-for-an-eye kind of person, but that was obvious. The girl proved herself to be more of a punching bag than anything. "Ah, so the war isn't really working out for ya, is it?" she said, with a little too much triumph. Enzair may have hit back, but it gave her pride to know that her kin were giving the Fires a difficult time. Okay, maybe not that much pride. She'd rather them be safe and protected, but if they couldn't have peace, then defense was just as good. As for herself? Well, that wasn't a thought in her mind. She didn't defend herself, let alone think about herself. That was a scary thing for the Earth girl.
Nell watched as he retrieved more stuff, items she'd return to the lab when need be. She'd told a technician there that she was just borrowing, and had to do a little bit of paperwork and get a license and all that fancy stuff, but she had gotten her paws on some good stuff. "Sounds like a plan to me," she said in the affirmative, putting her hands in her pockets while he went about making...whatever it was he decided he wanted to make. Enzair pulled out a remote after throwing the vial, and her eyebrows furrowed. What in the name of Sam Hill? That was not something she'd expected, so she carefully observed as she waited for him.
She didn't have to wonder for very long before he hit the button and she covered her ears with the palms of her hands. The explosion was incredible, leaving a dent in the earth. "Well damn, do you always carry that around?" she questioned, one of the rare times she let an expletive escape her lips. "Didn't even know it was possible to make one of those." There was a great many thing she didn't know. She did have marked intelligence, spent her childhood finding asylum in a crappy library, and she did come from brilliant families. But she was also nouveau, she was an ingenue. Over the past two years she'd learned a lot, but she was glad to discover that she'd never know everything in the world. There was something grand about that.
Nell took some pieces of wood from the crate, whistling as she did so like a good little worker. "Did you now?" she questioned as she took the wood and stacked it around a bowl with small candles she'd previously used for "dynamite". "You're lucky it didn't turn into a fight." She wasn't blowing smoke, Josh was older than him and okay, maybe she did think very highly of her fiance. But he was awesome, so how could she not? Nell used her lighter to set fire to the wood, using the time it took for the wax to boil so she could fill her pail with water, something she used just in case fires started. Now, she used it to dump over the wax, and the fire shot up into a fiery mushroom cloud with a whoosh. "Not an explosion," she said as she stepped back, observing the last tendrils of smoke. "Still cool." She liked fire, and she guessed she got lucky with Josh.
