Yes, Anna was the type of person who wanted to share absolutely everything with her best friend. This did include getting a new type of vegetarian pizza. Nell wasn't a vegetarian, but Anna was, and she thought that her friend might at least be willing to try it. She had gotten it from the locale pizza place, and they seemed almost shocked by it. She had ordered it with everything on it, except for meat. The guy looked at her funny when she said it, but she was okay with that. She drove towards the house in her silver BMW. There was a gate surrounding it, but for some strange reason, the gate had been left open. Maybe Nell was expecting her? As best friends, she was convinced that sometimes they had a telepathic connection.
She drove slowly down the driveway, listening to the song Carry On by Fun as she did so. She sang to herself as she looked around at the scenary. They really did have a beautiful house. She had been told about how Josh had inherited it. She only wished that she could manage something so nice. Her family was fairly well off, but not that well off. She was pretty happy with her life though. She was looking for a job to be able to move out. She loved her parents, and got along with them most of the time, but she wanted to live on her own. She was sure that most people did. She was almost eighteen, and was determined to have enough saved up on her eighteenth birthday to get her own apartment. Or even go in halves on an apartment with one of her friends. Either way, that would be fun.
She had a nice car, she knew that. Her parents only bought the best vehicles, because they figured that the nicer the car, the less likely to get in an accident. Though Anna knew that was totally opposite. She didn't get into too much trouble, but she could if she wanted to. Her little BMW had an after market engine and could go fast if she wanted it to. She pulled into the drive way in front of Josh & Nell's house, and shut the engine off. The song had just ended, so she didn't feel like she was missing too much. She grabbed the pizza box, and got out of the car, walking up to the front door. She knocked on it a couple times and waited, before the door opened. She smiled, even though the person who answered wasn't exactly who she was expecting. "Hey Josh." She said politely. "Nell wouldn't happen to be around would she?" She bit her lip and raised an eyebrow. " Figured I'd stop by and have her try my new creation with me. And well, you too of course, if you want." She wasn't sure if he would want to eat an all veggie pizza. Though of course, she wasn't sure if Nell would either. It was all a matter of taste, right?

Having his own apartment when his parents had kicked him out the first time had really taught Joshua the necessities of keeping a place clean. He'd grown up with maids to pick up after him and a cook to make dinner but the experience two years previously had really domesticated him in a way. When he went into the kitchen with the intent of cooking himself something to eat (Nell wasn't home and he wasn't sure when she'd be back, so he decided not to wait for her) he couldn't help but take notice of the fact that it had been left in an unfavourable state. He wasn't exactly what you could call obsessive compulsive—only with a few things like making sure all the books were pushed right up against the back of their shelves and that everything was alphabetized—but he did value cleanliness. They had housekeepers but the place was huge and he figured they just hadn't gotten around to the kitchen quite yet. Guess I'm cleaning up, then. The smell of the lemon cleaning solution stung his nose in a familiar way as he scrubbed down the countertops, washed the dishes in the sink, cleaned the floors. As with all tasks, Joshua could not simply do part of the work and then let it go. He had started with the intent of just washing the dishes and wiping down the countertops so that he had a clean space for cooking but by the time he was finished the entire kitchen was spotless. Well, at least it had given him something to do, even if his hands were red from the hot water and smelled of lemons now.
He was just getting out of the shower when he heard the knock on the door, rubbing a towel aggressively over his face as if trying to capture even the most elusive drops of moisture. The good thing about having short hair, at least, was how easily it dried. He dressed quickly and took the stairs two at a time, pulling open the door and offering a smile to whoever happened to be behind it. He recognised Lieanna and his gray eyes were warm with greeting as he stepped back and gestured into the large front foyer. "Hey, Anna, come in." Since the kitchen was directly to the left upon walking in the door, he chuckled and said, "Sorry if it smells like lemons in here, I kind of went crazy in the kitchen." He didn't consider cleaning (or cooking, for that matter) to be a "chick thing" and so he admitted this without shame. He took pride in the home he shared with Nell, why not take part in making sure it looked nice? He'd been all on his own when he'd lived in his apartment so he'd gotten used to doing all of the work himself. Efficient and independent, that's what they called it. "Nah," he said apologetically, already having figured that Anna might be here for Nell. "She went out a while ago, I'm not sure when she'll be back." He didn't keep possessive tabs on her which was probably a good thing.
His stomach growled when she mentioned the pizza and he remembered that he'd went into the kitchen originally with the intention of cooking. Whoops. He often got so dedicated and focused on one task that he completely forgot about everything else in the process. If not for Nell he doubted he'd remember that he was supposed to eat three meals in a day half the time. He had his little black book of vegetarian recipes and a list of all the specific vitamins he needed and how to get them daily but that didn't mean he remembered to follow through. Unfortunately, pizza often involved pepperoni. "Looks like you're just in time, really," he joked, for his stomach had decided it wanted to be rather audible. "What's it got on it, though? I'm vegetarian so, well, I can't eat meat." Self-explanatory, really. It wasn't that he couldn't eat meat, more like he refused to. It made him feel ill when he thought about the fact that it used to be a living, breathing creature. Then there was the fact that fat was chewy and ugh, chewy things. No thanks. "Do you want to hang around and wait for a while? I don't mind." He would actually be willing to keep her company seeing as he had exhausted his to-do list for the day.

Anna was not exactly the most normal of people. She knew that, it wasn't like it was a surprise or anything. She figured that was why she got along with certain people as well as she did. Like Nell. Nell too, wasn't exactly normal. But if everybody was normal, wouldn't that make things boring? Normal people where boring, as it was. Could you imagine if everybody was that way? These where some of the things that Anna thought about. It was strange, almost, the way these things worked. She smiled as Josh opened the door, the smell of citrus immediatly taking over. She could still smell the pizza, as it too, was an overpowering scent. "Hey, no worries. I actually kind of enjoy the smell." She said, laughing a little as she walked in. It was true, she loved the smell of anything citrusey. It had to be the best smell in the world, at least she thought so. That, and she had a bit of a fetish for certain guy's colognes. But, didn't most girls?
She had spent some time around Josh. Not a whole lot. Enough to know that he was her best friends fiancee, and that he was a nice enough person to be around, and that he was a traitor to the fire element. That was about all she really needed to know, she figured. She liked him well enough, and was happy for Nell, but just never had the desire to spend a lot of time around him. Not because she disliked him or thought he smelled bad or something rude, she was just usually spending time with Nell. "Oh, well alright then." She said, with a small shrug. Nell was always around being busy. She started to think that maybe she should have called first, but who did that with their best friends? No, not Anna. She was used to randomly showing up at Nell's house. "Your a vegeterian?" A smile crossed her face as she made her way over to the counter, and set the box down, and opened it. "I am, too. Therefore, an all veggie pizza, my friend." She took in a deep breath, inhaling the scent of the pizza. "Sure, I'll hang around. As long as you help me eat this." She said, raising an eyebrow, smirking at him a little.

Joshua chuckled in reply to her comment. "Yeah, me too." He also loved the pine smell of a certain floor cleaner that he'd used to use at his old apartment. He'd lived for the first couple of weeks without doing much cleaning and when the dishes had started to pile up and the place had started to look and smell less than stellar, he'd realised there was a problem. He'd been so used to lazing around his parents' house while the housing staff did all the cleaning that the typical guys' apartment didn't suit him very well. He'd kept a spotless apartment afterwards and he'd learned to utilize cookbooks for his meals since he really wasn't a canned soup kind of guy. "I could tell her you dropped by if you need to get going," he suggested, wondering if Anna had been planning to drag Nell off on some kind of adventure that she'd still need to go to even if she was alone. But then again, Lieanna had a box of pizza in her hands. She probably had a few minutes to spare in order to eat it, even if Nell wasn't here to help her out. He said it politely, not wanting the girl to think that she was unwelcome in the house or in his presence. Nell had a few friends that he didn't really get along with but for the most part, his house was her house. Literally. Hell, he wouldn't even object if she brought people he didn't really like over as long as said people didn't do anything to his place. Which it was Nell's house, too, and she tended to befriend the nice types, so he really didn't think he had anything to worry about. Anna was someone that he got along with, too, even if they weren't friends or anything of the sort. So she was fair game.
He nodded. "For a while now." He didn't explain how long, never the type to say more than what was needed. He had been a vegetarian since he was six years old. His father happened to mention what they were eating in passing (it had been chicken, he believed) and he'd spat it out in surprise. "You mean this used to be an actual... chicken? Like alive and stuff?" The nod he'd recieved in reply had cemented his decision. Nope, never again. He was surprised to learn that Anna shared his diet. It wasn't often that it came up in conversation with people, so there was a chance there were vegetarians in his social circle he didn't even know about, but it was always a little shocking to find he had that in common with people he knew. "Ah, then I'd totally be willing to share. I'm starved." In the not-so-literal sense of the word. He was rich and his fridge was fully stocked. He was fit and healthy and he ate enough to keep himself as such. He was about as starved as a pampered show dog but the figure of speech was just that. He was really hungry and so 'starved' it was. "Conditions to hang around my house? Well, then." He wasn't offended, though, merely smirked as he took a piece of the pizza, trying to make sure the cheese didn't stretch too much and pull toppings off the neighbouring slices. He hated when that happened. "So what all is on this?" he asked curiously as he bit into it, tasting a medley of flavours. "It's good," he mused, though of course he chewed and swallowed first. The boy had manners.

Anna wasn't exactly normal, but she was glad she was not the only one who enjoyed the smell of cleaner. The thought crossed her mind if you could get high off the smell of that stuff. Not that she would attempt it, but people could get high off stuff like spray paint, so why not lemon scented cleaner? She felt like that might be more pleasant, anyways. At least it smelled better than ninety nine point nine percent of stuff people used. "Nah bro, I don't need to get going right away unless you need me gone." She said, smiling at him a little bit. She didn't have the best manners, esspecially when it came to literally just inviting herself over to somebody elses house. But, she had been expecting Nell to be home, that just did not happen. But that was okay, she was cool with Josh. He was a nice guy, and hadn't given her any reason to give him the silent treatment or hate him, so it was cool. Plus, wasn't it almost a requirement to get along with your best friends fiancee?
Anna smiled and nodded at his response. "That's cool! Me too. Not even sure how long now, really." She said, with a small shrug. It had been since before she started at the academy, she just didn't know exactly how long. But details where not always important. She was the only vegeterian in her family so it had been hard to adjust at first, but her family eventually learned to just let her do her own shopping. Not only was the thought of eating something that was once alive horrible to her, the taste was equally as bad. She could hardly look at it without feeling sick. Though, she didn't like the site of blood anyways. "Perfect!" She cooed, smiling at him. "Then I won't have to eat the whole thing on my own." She said, her face serious. As if she could actually eat the whole thing. Actually, that was a lie. If she really tried, she probably could. "Of course. It is a priveledge to be in my presence. " She said, shrugging, as she pulled a slice of pizza off after him. "Let's see.. peppers.. mushrooms.. onions.. pretty much the works. Minus the meet." She said, chuckling a little, as she took a bite of it. After she swallowed, she nodded. "I have to agree, this is pretty fantastic. Might have to make this my new usual." Which was a lie, for she rarely ordered the same thing twice from anywhere. After taking another bite, she glanced up at him. "So, Josh, What's new?" Making friendly conversation never hurt anybody.

He shook his head in reply, feeling no need to reiterate aloud that he didn't mind Lieanna staying considering he'd already said as much earlier. He didn't need her gone and she didn't want to be gone and so he supposed they'd already reached an agreement there. Besides, he was willing to have her around for the sake of the pizza since he'd forgotten all about his food when it came to taking a shower. He had a really bad habit of being too narrow in focus. One track mind, one thing at a time. Hey, at least he was really, really good at staying concentrated on a project. "It doesn't matter, really. I only remember because my family won't let me forget." That was a joke, actually. He remembered because he had a good memory but it was true that his parents often joked about his priceless reaction to the chicken at the dinner table. It was a common story that they'd tell relatives, much to his irritation sometimes. He didn't like being a laughing stock. "Could always have saved it for later," he pointed out when she mentioned eating the entire pizza herself. "Unless you don't like microwaved foods." A lot of people, Joshua included, didn't like food when it had been zapped by the microwave. "Then again, there's always the oven, too." Microwaves made some foods get soggy as well as hot and that was why he tended to avoid them unless it was for a drink. Ovens caused the food to retain their crispiness and Josh liked that. Crunchy foods were good. Satisfying. Especially when they were roast potatoes.
He raised an eyebrow at her. "Being in my house is a privilege in and of itself, so unless you'd like to leave..." He sounded so genuinely stiff and serious that one could believe him without much incident. He wasn't being serious but he often forgot that Lieanna probably didn't know him well enough to tell which things he said were joking and which were real. Hell, even his best and closest friends had doubts at times. Joshua could be an irritable person and so some of the things he said were plausible either way. "I like onions," he said contemplatively, picking one off solo and popping it between his lips. He liked all the other toppings, too. Tomatoes were often a risky choice if you were trying to keep the pizza for a very long time, though, because they were soggy and that could bleed into the pizza and make it taste gross. Most other toppings were fair game except for anchovies and meats. Which reminded him of a question. "You're literally veggie, right? Not pescatarian or whatever?" It was curious rather than accusing. He didn't care if someone was vegan, vegetarian, a carnivore, omnivore... it didn't matter to Joshua. He wasn't an activist, the guy just didn't like meat. "They only eat fish, if you didn't know. Like, rather than other meats." If she wasn't one then maybe she wouldn't know the term so he took the liberty of explaining. "I haven't been up to much, really. Working. Studying for exams." Fuck exams. "You? You're graduating this year, right?" He was pretty sure Lieanna and Nell weren't in the same grade but he wasn't positive about what grade the younger Earth was in.

Being a vegetarian wasn't something Anna was ashamed of in any way. She thought meat tasted so gross, so why not. She loved animals too, so the thought of eating one mostly grossed her out. She didn't judge people who ate meat, though. That wouldn't be right. After all, animals ate other animals. It was mostly the same concept, right? Eat or be eaten. Though Anna prefered not to be eaten. If she had the choice, she would live off ice cream and peanut butter, but that most likely was not an option. At least, not a healthy one, anyways. "Ah, parents can be such assholes sometimes." She said, rolling her eyes a little bit. She knew the feeling well. She loved her parents, but sometimes she really wished she didn't. A lot of stuff her parents said and did bothered her to no end, but wasn't that what parents where for? "Nah broski, much better to eat it while it's hot. You reheat it and it takes away that 'new pizza smell'. Know what I mean?" She couldn't help but laugh a little bit as she said it.
Anna just laughed a little bit at Josh's comment. He was right, it was a privileged to really be in anybodies house. Although she had been here quite a few times before since well, Nell lived here too. "Right, I'm sorry. I'm graced with the presence of your castle." She said, bowing hew head a little bit. She was always joking so it was not anything new for her. She nodded as he said that he liked onions, and too started picking off a few toppings. "Yes sir, all veggie. I can't even stand the smell of fish." She said, wrinkling up her nose a little with the thought. It was so true though, fish was the worst of all meats, or so she thought. She didn't even like them much when they where alive. Creepy scaly little bug eyed things just waiting to nibble on your toes when you went under the water. He sounded like he had been up to about the same stuff as her. "Sounds about right." She said, smiling and nodding a little. "And yes sir. Finally graduating, moving onto bigger and better things like... college." Which wasn't really better, but it was bigger. "Hoping to pursue my music career now." She said, shrugging as if it wasn't really a big deal, but it was to her. That was her life and her future, or so she hoped.

It seemed she'd either realised that he wasn't as serious as he'd looked or merely decided to ignore him if she'd thought she was, and Joshua chuckled at her reply. "It'd be a pretty badass castle if only it had a dungeon." It did have a basement of course. That basement was mostly used for storage above anything else but it also had a vault-like room at the back where he kept his most valuable stuff. Family heirlooms that they'd kept for centuries, extra cash in case something went wrong with the banks, the works. It was the main reason he never took his guests down into the basement or talked about it much. There was nothing down there for anyone's eyes but those of the family. "Yeah, not the greatest smell in the world," he agreed on the subject of fish, intensely amused by the fact that she'd kept up her joke in calling him 'sir'. He loved it when people felt they could crack jokes around him, it brought with it a sense of familiarity. There had been a time when his serious stoicism had drove everyone away and led them to believe that he could neither make nor take a joke and it had been a time without much humour. His sister and a few of his friends, Nell included, had been the only people who'd eventually realised that he wasn't as dry and humourless as he appeared to be. He'd relaxed in recent years, though, loosened up. Having a job had helped. "And I couldn't do the whole fish thing. Meat's bad enough but raw meat? Just no." Even the thought wigged him out, like someone tearing off a bite of their own flesh and eating it. He had a strong stomach but still, it was gross.
Ah, college. He had been excited in his senior year of high school to move on to a more serious schooling, one that he could focus his interests on. Instead of taking classes that he didn't need for his future career he'd been able to take mostly science and history related courses, as well as the core classes of course. "So are you going to major in it? Music?" Not everyone chose the major of the career they were going to go into. Some doctors got into medical school with a major in Mathematics, English, or other unrelated subjects. He just wanted the extra boost to his biology knowledge so he'd taken a major that was well-suited. "College is pretty great in my opinion. I like my classes. But then, that's me." He twitched his lips slightly into a smile. That meaning was clear. Joshua was quite the dork and unashamed of this fact so he usually turned out to enjoy school more than most people. It came with the territory. He took another slice of pizza and fell silence for a moment so that he could eat some of it before he swallowed and continued conversation. "Apart from college, how've you been? It's been a while." Nell was her best friend and so whenever Anna dropped by it was usually to see her. Not that this bothered Josh at all, of course not, it just meant that he and Lieanna hadn't chatted with one another in a little while. He trusted the Earth well enough, though. She was a good friend to his fiancée as well and he respected that. He loved Nell so he also loved when people were good to her. It went without saying.
