Annabel was a bit gullible when it came to her friends. She wanted to do the right things and make the good choices but it was really hard for her to say 'no' to some things when a lot of her friends wanted her to play along. Drugs were easy enough because she knew they weren't the right path to go down. Alcohol she'd tried once and promptly spat it out because of the foul taste. She hadn't decided to brave a second chance with the liquid monster. Sex was a definite no. Parties? Well, her resolve weakened there. Parties included all of the above, at least these kinds of parties, but they also included her friends. "Come on, Belle, it'll be fun," Jennifer half whined. The girl had become her fast friend along with a couple of the others from her element and grade and an Earth and Wind girl as well. The group of six were already shaping up to be a tight gang. "Hey, don't call me Belle," she said. The correction was firm but not rude. "Anna works I guess but... really, just Annabel is fine." Jenn exchanged a brief glance with the Earth elemental as if wondering why their friend was being so weird but shrugged it off. "Annabel, then. Please?" Annabel resisted the urge to sigh. Parties weren't usually her thing. At all. She didn't do this whole scene. But friends... "You're never going to shut up about it if I don't," she realised, rolling her blue eyes. "So fine." Now that all of the gang was on board with going, there was nothing halting them.
At first it turned out to be just as fun as they'd promised. They had to take the bus to the stop closest to the house since they were all too young to drive and didn't have a ride that could accompany all of them at once and they chatted in a large group as they walked along the sidewalk down the designated street. "So do you even know who's hosting this thing, Jenn?" Emily brought up a pretty good point and Annabel strained her hearing to be sure that she'd catch the answer. "Nah," came the reply, and Belle tried not to let this bother her. Surely it would be fine, right? She was with a group of five other people and if they stuck together they would do alright. Except they didn't stay together. They slowly dispersed into their own separate activities amongst the crowds of older kids and soon she was left alone with Emily the Earth elemental wondering where everyone else had gotten off to. Jennifer had probably led the others off somewhere else. "I need the bathroom," Emily said, shifting in apparent discomfort. "Gonna go see if I can find it. Don't go anywhere, 'kay Anna?" Ah, she'd adopted the nickname already. Annabel was used to being called Annabel but she could deal. "I won't," she promised. It was a house party and so instead of wandering off she strolled the short distance to one of the couches and sat down. She looked out of place without any company or a drink to occupy her, felt out of place. Maybe this had been a bad idea.
[Sorry if it's not that great, starter and all xD]

This party was fantastic, and Hunter was in his element. It didn't take much for him to feel at home when he was surrounded by a sea of people who were growing more and more intoxicated by the second, though. He was as social as they come, but in the worst way possible. All he was here for tonight was to have an adventure. Whether it would be a fight, jumping off of a roof, or sleeping with some random girl was to be determined, but it would certainly be an experience. It all just depended on who was here tonight, and it didn't look like there was anything he knew on a personal level. Sure, there were those same faces that he saw at every party. There were the people he'd pass by in town, but there weren't people that were willing to drop everything to entertain him. While he'd never do that for others, he still didn't understand why they wouldn't do it for him. Didn't they realize how great he was? Part of him realized how much of a brat he was, the other part of him didn't care. On top of everything, Hunter just needed someone to talk to. Some kind of target to keep him occupied. He made is way through the party casually with a bottle of vodka in his hand, looking for the next lucky contestant on put up with Hunter, and found the perfect target almost instantly.
While he wasn't entirely sober, his observational skills were still in full swing, and they would be for a little while longer until he got really hammered. That's why it didn't take him long to realize that a girl sitting alone on a couch with no drink on her hands was the perfect target for him. It either meant that she was already far gone, or that she was out of place. He could play off of either one really well. He was a master when it came to this kind of thing, after all. He took a long swig of his drink and started over to the girl, taking a seat next to her without bothering to ask. "Hey, are you alright?" He asked in a considerate tone. If anything, Hunter was a really good actor. After all, he'd had a lot of experience in this field. This was not his first trip to the rodeo, and he was more or less dead set on sleeping with this girl now that he was seated next to her. She did seem a bit young, but that wouldn't stop him. After all, she was old enough to come to the party, she had to be old enough to know what kind of trouble she was getting into. Hunter wasn't the worst that could happen to her. After all, he wasn't going to use force on her or anything, but he was going to try to take advantage of her nonetheless, and he just hoped that the girl didn't take too much convincing.
[No, your post was totally fine. Mine, however, is garbage. I just wanted to get this moving before I left for a band audition >.< I hope it's at least respond-able >.<]

Stranger danger was not something that Annabel was incredibly paranoid about. She understood the common sense stuff about parties like not drinking anything that was left unattended and uncovered, that it was always best to avoid drinking anything you didn't bring yourself, but she convinced herself that the other people at the party were not bad. Alright, some of them looked incredibly shifty and others were smoking weed in one corner and laughing at things she wouldn't understand but not everyone was bad. After all, her friends were here. Emily and Jennifer were the two she knew best out of the group so far and they weren't bad people. So when Hunter approached her out of nowhere, drink in hand, the thirteen year old girl was completely unperturbed by his presence. She gave him a friendly and welcoming smile, approachable as always, and seemed briefly confused by the question. "I'm fine!" She might have been a little uncomfortable and out of place but her mood was as high as ever. It was hard to really bring the Water girl down. Probably why she was Water and not Fire. "Why? Do I look like I'm not?" She wasn't hostile in the least. On the contrary, Annabel sounded a bit puzzled. Had she looked too uncertain or something? Oops! She hadn't meant to display her doubtful thoughts on the surface but Annabel was pretty bad at hiding things. Her brother was a solid façade but her shield was poked full of holes. Like Swiss cheese or something else holy. An old sock or something.
Annabel had absolutely no idea what Hunter was up to. The girl was trusting and a tad naive at that, having never met someone with as ill intentions as his. He sounded considerate and so she was going to believe that he was until he proved her wrong. Her brother's warnings about guys like these did not cross her mind as she continued to smile, relaxed and nonchalant. The other boy had a drink but the smell of alcohol clung to the entire house so she didn't give much thought to how drunk he was or why he'd come to talk to the lonely girl on the couch. "I'm just waiting for my friend to get back, she probably got lost or something." Annabel rolled her eyes. Emily was a bit of a scatterbrain, apparently. It was foreign territory, though, this house. She guessed it made sense to be a little misplaced. "What about you? What are you doing over here?" She was innocently curious as she blinked at him and asked the question. The absolute lack of accusation in her tone and the friendliness that did lace it suggested that she was still unaware of his type. He looked scary and all but with a brother who was six foot three and scowling, Annabel had learned not to judge people on first impressions. There was a guy that worked at the tattoo parlour downtown with loads of piercings that had still seemed really pleasant when she'd met him once. Never judge a book by it's cover and all that. Maybe she should have at least looked deeper than the cover, though, to see that Hunter was not as genuine as he appeared.

Unfortunately, this girl didn't seem intoxicated in the least. Hunter didn't know what to make of that, though. After all, she was at a party. Wasn't the goal of these things to just get as wasted as possible? Sure, there were other appealing social aspects, but that's what it really came down to. Everyone at every party he'd been to had always at least intended to drink, or do drugs. He'd never seen someone just chill on the couch while sober. He could still swing this to his advantage though, he just had to work a little harder at it. Hunter offered the girl a warm smile, and shrugged. "You just don't usually see people sitting by themselves at a party unless something's wrong," he explained. "I'm glad to hear that you're okay, though." He took another drink of his vodka, then decided to see if he could get this girl drunk on his own. "You want some?" he offered nonchalantly. He didn't want her to think it was a big deal or anything. The last thing he's want would be for her to think he was trying to get her wasted, regardless of his less than admirable intentions.
The girl seemed to have a good enough reason for sitting around, but Hunter doubted that her friends would be back any time soon. That was how parties worked: people came in groups, then they dispersed, and didn't see each other until the end of the night. He at least hoped that they wouldn't come back for her until later, because that would definitely ruin his game. "I'm sure she'd be disappointed to see you just sitting on the couch when she comes back. She'd probably want to see you having a good time instead," he stated. He had no idea if that was true. Hell, for all he knew, all that this girl was here to do was chaperon and make sure they didn't drive home drunk, or hook up with anyone ugly. Still, he was always good at sounding confident, and his argument would hopefully be convincing.
The girl asked the very good question of what he was doing here, and he had pretty much figured out his answer before she even asked. "I thought I'd keep you company, because you didn't look like you were having a good time. Is there anything I can do to make things a little more exciting for you here?" he asked with a smirk. Now he was really coming off as the kind and considerate kid that he wanted people to think that he was. It was the best kind of act, because no one would expect him to be the bad guy, regardless of piercings, or makeup choices. He could have just been an alternative-styled guy with a heart of gold. He'd met people like that in the past, and he thanked God that they existed, because it made his life so much easier.

Annabel laughed, the sound soft as it left her lips. Was she doing something out of the ordinary, then? She felt self-conscious for a moment and shifted slightly but got over it quite quickly. She could do what she wanted, right? It wasn't like a bolt of karma lightning was going to strike her down because she sat on a couch at a party. Annabel was stubborn and it helped her to quickly accept that she was allowed to make her own way around the place. She was still regretting her choices, though, because she really, really felt out of place here. Everyone was doing things that she didn't do. She'd always been the sweet one, the innocent one. Sheltered, one could call it. Now was no different. "Guess I'm just a rebel, then," she joked. Her discomfort wasn't all that evident because it wasn't prominent. She was an adaptable person and tended to quickly adjust to awkward situations. It was what made Belle so good at socializing. She could turn an awkward moment into a good laugh and move on with her life. "Thanks." It was nice to know someone cared. Well, it was nice to think someone cared, which was exactly what Annabel was doing. She didn't realise that Hunter's intentions were negative. Not even when he offered her alcohol, to which she shook her head. "I'm good. Thanks for offering, though!" Genuine as ever, she'd just thanked the guy for trying to give her alcohol and get her drunk. Oh boy.
Would Emily really mind if Annabel got up and had some fun with other people? She frowned at the thought, considering this. The Earth elemental had seemed pretty adamant when she'd begged Belle not to go anywhere, apparently wanting to come back to someone familiar and stable, but she didn't know Em well. Maybe the girl had found some fun of her own. Maybe it would be alright. "I mean, I guess." The doubt was obvious because she still hadn't entirely made up her mind. "Not gonna lie, sitting around on my ass all day isn't very fun. I don't think that's what you're meant to do at parties, eh?" She laughed again, smiling. Parties were about partying, having fun with other people. Unfortunately, the other people she'd come here with the intention of having fun with had gone and left her all alone, a fish on a sandy shore. "But then what could I really do instead? There doesn't really look like much." Annabel shrugged, being honest. Maybe if she were drunk the party would have seemed way more stellar but she was kind of bored with it already. She liked video games but the television screen was dark. Apparently people were too busy shagging, drinking or drugging it up to busy with the games the place had to offer. Perhaps it didn't have any at all. That was kind of lame, if it were the case.
Annabel blinking at him, swallowing his words like the stupid and gullible fish swallows the worm on the hook. She still hadn't caught on to the fact that something else was at play yet. She probably wouldn't catch on until he did something obvious, because Belle had never been in a situation like this one before. Innocent and easy to trust in the good intentions of others. "Guess I wasn't," she admitted. Annabel wasn't in a bad mood but she would have been lying if she claimed that she was enjoying herself. She thought about his question and looked contemplative. "Well I dunno. What do you usually do at parties?" It might have sounded like a stupid question but really, this was all new to her. She knew what most people were doing but none of it was anything she wanted to do. Annabel wasn't blind or anything like that but this didn't look like a fun time. "I got dragged her by a bunch of friends but they all kinda split up and stuff." Stupid friends. She liked Jennifer and the gang well enough but she kind of wished they hadn't left her alone. Oh well. At least she had this guy now, and it was then she came to the realisation that she didn't know his name. "Oh, I'm Annabel. Who're you?" She tilted her head slightly at the question, a strand of hair falling out from behind her ear. She tucked it back behind with a smile.
[She's so naive and genuine I can't xD]

This girl was surprisingly upbeat. He really hadn't expected an attitude like this from anyone sober. It was rare, that was for sure. Most people he encountered were negative and nihilistic, especially at parties. Sure, there were the slutty girls that just drank to have a good time, but a lot of people were here as a sort of escape. Hunter may have been one of them. This girl seemed like she could just see the good in everyone, and it was off putting. He wondered if there was something wrong with her, or if this was all just some kind of weird act. It didn't matter to him, honestly. As long as he could manage to seduce her, everything would be fine. Hunter flashed his teeth in a grin as the girl proclaimed that she must have been a rebel. "Clearly," he replied in jest. She had quite a wit about her, and that just made her all the more enticing for him. She was cute, and she seemed smart. On top of that, she was sober. If he could get her into bed with him, he'd have set a new standard for himself. It'd be quite the achievement, and he was determined now more than ever. The girl turned down his offer of vodka, and he resisted the urge to frown. He was too smart to let it seem like it had fazed him, even if it was going to make everything a great deal more difficult.
Hunter seemed to be getting through to the girl, and that was a good sign. He was getting her to get up from the couch, and if he could do that, there was still hope for getting laid tonight. Hunter shook his head quickly when the girl stated that sitting on a couch wasn't what to do at a party. Damn right it wasn't. Drinking was what was supposed to be done, and the fact that she wasn't drinking just meant that she clearly had no idea what to do at these things. Hunter looked around at the notion that there wasn't really much to do, and he had to admit that she was right. If he didn't party, a party surely wouldn't be the best place to hang out.
The girl admitted that she hadn't been having a good time, and he couldn't help but take that as an admission of having at least a little bit better of a time now. Maybe that was just his pride talking, but it didn't matter. Hunter wasn't prepared for her next question, and it took him a moment to think of a decent answer. What did he do at parties? Sex and drugs, mostly. That wasn't the right answer though. In fact, there were probably only a handful of answers that were more wrong than that. He wasn't that stupid. Hell, not very many people on Earth were that stupid. If they were, they sure as hell weren't getting laid, so it led to a paradox. Hunter wished that he knew more about this girl, so he could mirror her interests. If he could, everything would have worked a little better. "I like to meet new people and go on all sorts of adventures," Hunter said, making sure to keep it as ambiguous as possible. "What do you do for fun?" he asked, trying to find something that he could use to his advantage. "I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully I'm keeping you company enough to make up for it." he offered, upon hearing that she was part of a larger group. "Annabel. Such a pretty name," he stated, making sure to remember it. "I'm Hunter, nice to meet you."

Hunter seemed like a pretty nice guy and so Annabel had no problem sitting and talking to him. If there were people like this at parties to meet and hang around with she supposed that they might not be so bad in moderation. She couldn't drink but she could socialize like a champion, right? He brother used to always tell her that her willingness to make new friends astounded him. That was flattering, she supposed, even if it was simply because he was so unapproachable. To hear that Hunter also liked meeting people made her blue eyes light up with a sort of satisfaction. Ooh, common ground! Annabel was far too fond of having a common interest with another person. It made talking so much easier. "Hey, me too!" she said with cheerful enthusiasm. "And hey, adventures are awesome. Never a dull moment!" It was actually one of her favourite things to do. Anything could be an adventure if you made it into one. Trying new things excited her. Alcohol didn't count, unfortunately for Hunter. She'd already tried that and she hadn't liked it very much. Too much burn and not enough good taste. She couldn't handle it well. "Parties seem like okay places for that I guess. There are definitely a lot of people around." She would have gone up and started conversations herself if most of them weren't standing around in groups and doing things that she was uncomfortable joining in on. Like drugs. Annabel was the type of girl that would approach the person sitting in the lonely corner of the room and try to make them feel better about themselves.
He asked her what she did for fun and she thought about that for a moment, thought about the things she liked. Two things came to mind immediately. "Well I like video games," she told him, for that was the default answer that she always adhered to. "Swimming, too." Right now she was a fish out of water but in the water she was like a fish, good at swimming as she was. Sometimes she fantasized about trying to swim for Olympic teams but she wasn't sure if she had the drive for that kind of thing. It wasn't like she'd made swimming competitions her life or anything like that, it was just a hobby of which she was fond. "Usually not this. Probably why my friends ditched." She laughed, shrugging. She tried not to allow things to bother her. Annabel didn't like being sensitive because it made her vulnerable and she hated that feeling. Vulnerability. Hunter apologised for her friends' behaviour and she smiled at him in thanks. "Your company is definitely nice," she assured him. "Way better than sitting alone and moping, y'know?" She hadn't been moping too much but she figured it was safe to use the word in conversation nevertheless. She glanced around to see if Emily was nearby, turning her attention back to the boy when she did not see her friend. Her loss. She wasn't too bothered because she'd found something to pass the time until her friend finally made her way back to the area anyway. "Your name is bad ass," she said, blue eyes glowing with some sort of admiration. It sounded cool. "And it's nice to meet you too!" Ah, if only she knew.

So Annabel liked going on adventures and talking to strangers too. They probably weren't the same kinds of things, or the same kinds of people, but if she wasn't going to question it, neither was he. It was all a matter of getting the girl to think that there was something between them. If he could do that, alcohol wouldn't even matter. After all, a lot of people romanticized sex, and if he could seem wonderful and compatible, then he'd be the perfect person for that. He just wished that all of this would hurry along. He wasn't patient, and this was torture. If only he could just cut the games and make a move. Unfortunately, there was a stigma here, and he had to abide it. It would be difficult to take the rejection if this didn't pan out, but he was way too confident to let that get in the way. "Believe me, with me there's no such thing as dull," he stated coolly. That wasn't boasting, so much as stating a fact. Hunter was an extremely entertaining person. If this girl stayed around long enough, she'd definitely see that. "I just wish more of the people were as fun to talk to as you are," he stated with a smile. "Or as pretty," he said softly. There was no way that wouldn't earn him points.
Video games. He could work with that. If he could find a system, he could probably do a lot with it. If he was good enough about it, he could turn it into a drinking game. If he was really good, it could be a strip game. He'd stick with the former for the time being. He wasn't going to lay it all on the line just yet. "Wanna look and see if there are any games here? I'd love to play you." Hunter wasn't the best gamer, but he wasn't bad by any stretch of the word. He was a casual player, and spent a lot of time playing while high, because it felt like he was right there in the action. This time he wasn't high enough for that, and it'd probably lead him to focus more. Annabel had also brought up swimming, and that was something that he couldn't relate to at all. Sure, he could swim, but it wasn't something that he wanted to do often. After all, he was a fire elemental. Water didn't really work with him. He was powerless in water, and that scared him. He wasn't really afraid of water, so much as losing control, but it meant that he'd definitely be uncomfortable. Hearing that his company was welcome was a good sign, and it brought a genuine smile to his face for a moment. Not that it really changed much from the other that he tended to wear, but the meaning behind it definitely changed. At least for a few seconds. "Thanks. My folks seemed to like it." In all seriousness, Hunter didn't like his name very much. It was the kind of name wealthy parents gave to their kids with the expectation that they'd wind up being perfect. It never worked out that way though. It was funny, because it was the exact story of his own life. Maybe there was a self fulfilling prophecy in the works, but he didn't care. After all, he liked his life too much to stop anything just because he could name the reason for starting.

Hunter's assurance was confident but Annabel did not mind so much. If the guy thought he was cool then that was fine with her, she'd offer no argument at this point in time. He hadn't been half bad so far so maybe he was just speaking the truth. Annabel thought she was pretty awesome as well and so she could hardly contest his words without seeming like a huge hypocrite. "I guess we'll see about that, huh?" Her words were teasing as she smirked. They were not meant to offend but Annabel never assured anyone that she was only kidding around. If they couldn't tell that on their own with the Water girl smiling and looking cheerful then they needed to get their shit together and learn basic social cues. Her eyes lit up at the compliment, swallowing the bait with ease. She liked herself enough that she was willing to believe any sort of praise that people gave to her. She was not so self-absorbed that she would put herself on a pedestal above others or anything like that but if people complimented her of their own accord she was more than willing to believe them. "Hey, thanks. I try." She grinned on the last words, kidding. She didn't try too hard to be well-liked, it was more of a natural thing. Unfortunately for Annabel she sometimes attracted the wrong people to her. Sometimes, like in Hunter's case, it was also a different kind of attraction. The kind she did not want. Not a good thing, never a good thing. The girl's cheeks flushed pink when he called her pretty, not having expected that. She wasn't sure what to say to it, actually. She'd had people call her pretty before but it was usually her friends and family. "Oh, uh, thanks!" She sounded a tad flustered but still sort of grateful. It was nice to know that people thought you looked good, right?
Asking to play against her in a video game was a step in the right direction but it would require nothing short of a chasm-wide leap for the Fire elemental to get what he wanted. Annabel was still ignorant to what that want was, however, and so was not yet sensing that there was anything wrong. It probably would have been a good idea to get out of there as soon as possible but she was thinking about video games, not her own safety and security. "Oh, hell yeah!" she enthused. "They probably have something, I mean it's a pretty big house..." And she was already off the couch with those words and kneeling on the floor by the entertainment centre, looking in the space underneath the television for any sort of gaming system. Bingo! There was a 360 with three controllers simply begging to be put to use and when she opened one of the cabinets next to the system she found a multitude of games, from Call of Duty, Halo and Left 4 Dead 2 to a bunch of lesser known games of different genres and the like. Annabel's favourite games were first-person shooters anyway and so she looked at Hunter with a smirk. "I could probably kick your ass in any of these," she boasted, not short on confidence. "Sure you want to take me on?" She didn't notice the change in his expression, nor did she pick up on the fact that he didn't like his own name as much as she liked it. She liked her own, though, even though people had a bad habit of spelling it wrong. A lot. Oh well, she got over it after a couple of years in school and had adapted to telling people how to spell it when they had to write it down anywhere.

Hunter gave a devilish smile when the girl didn't seem confident that he was always entertaining. "Only if you can keep up," he stated coolly. He was a hard person to keep a constant pace with, especially if you didn't drink or smoke, but that was irrelevant. He knew he wouldn't be seeing much of this girl in the future. This was going to be a one time thing. Unless, of course, she was the greatest fuck in the world, but he didn't see it happening. Honestly, this was just a challenge, and one he intended to accomplish. "Well you succeed, sweetie," he replied. This was so easy. She was taking every piece of bait he dropped without a second thought. She probably didn't even know what she was getting into. That was probably for the best though. Her blush also showed that he was getting to her, and that was another plus.
Hunter followed Annabel's lead to track down video games, and wasn't surprised at all when she found them. There were shooters, and that was perfect. Those were his games of choice. "You really think you can take me?" Hunter gave a short, cocky laugh. "In that case, let's make this interesting. Say loser has to do whatever the winner says after each round?" he offered. It was a step toward his ultimate goal, without being direct. For some reason, he didn't think she'd really go for a drinking game right away, since she didn't take his offer to begin with. He took another swig of his vodka, and set it down on a table nearby. Now he'd just have to hope that the girl wasn't some kind of video game expert, because he'd honestly be unable to live with the loss of such a great idea. In reality, he was probably going to lose a round or two due to mental impairment, but it wasn't a huge deal, as long as he could keep playing things to his advantage. He seemed to be making some headway, after all. And he didn't want that progress to stop now.

Challenging Annabel was usually met with the small blonde taking said challenge very seriously. She was competitive by nature and couldn't help herself from trying to beat everyone at everything and so on. She could do simple tasks with another person without feeling like it had to be a race but the moment some sort of verbal challenge was issues, she got serious. Blonde brows raised for a moment and she smirked at Hunter, clearly confident in herself. "Better watch how much you're bragging, then, 'cause I'll bet I can." She had a high horse of her very own and she wouldn't jump down until he did. She wasn't going to give up or give in until this challenge was over. If only she realised what Hunter's ultimate goal would be, she would have got up and left a long time ago. The pet name threw her off for a moment, made her uncertain, but she didn't show it and was able to brush it to the side after he didn't say anything else too out of the ordinary. He's just being nice. She hoped, anyway. She wasn't completely oblivious and so that had set off an alarm for a moment but she was also gullible and trusting enough that she could fall for the better intentions if she thought they were there. She was digging her own grave, really, and was completely oblivious to that fact as she got down by the video games and started to look through their titles to see what sort of games that they had.
Hunter sounded cocky and she wondered if he had much of a reason to be. Not as much as me, I bet. She was over-confident herself at times but Annabel was someone that could definitely be considered a gamer in the sense of the word that would be taken seriously. She would play games for a living if she could figure out a way to do such a thing. She played online among the really good players and managed to keep up through hours of practice and play. She felt she had a reason to be cocky about it. "I really think so. I own all these games, I play a lot." When you lived in a mansion with a huge television, multiple game systems and a huge collection of game titles, it was safe to assume you played quite a lot of video games or were otherwise a very wasteful person. Like her brother and his books, games tended to be what people defaulted to when buying her gifts. She wasn't complaining. "Hm. Well I don't know what I'd want you to do," she said thoughtfully, giving a grin that showed some tooth. "I mean, I'm the one who's gonna be winning the majority of the time, so." Definitely not short on confident. Definitely not. She wasn't very good at coming up with creative things. Again it was a challenge, though. "But hey, you can have your fun," she crowed. "If you do manage to beat me, we'll see what happens." She lifted her shoulders and dropped them in a shrug. She was very good at games and so she doubted she had much to worry about.

Hunter was probably more competitive than Annabel could dream of being. He was truly driven to a destructive extreme at times where winning was concerned. Of course, that was only on challenges that really interested him. There were very few competitions that he felt so strongly about, and usually ended up walking away without a second thought in his usual nonchalant manner. Unfortunately, Hunter was interested in this challenge, and so he was determined to win. At least in the long run. He wanted to get the girl naked, or at least drunk, and this seemed like the best possible way to do it. He resisted the urge to tell the girl what keeping up with him entailed, for fear that it would drive the sweet, innocent-seeming girl away. He was almost sure that telling her that staying on his pace involved an array of almost-Dionysian debauchery. "We'll just have to see, then. Won't we?" he replied instead, deciding to egg her on a little more.
It was a little off-putting that Annabel owned and played these games a lot. It meant that she was probably better than Hunter, who spent the majority of his time going to parties. Sure, he did game, and sure he was good, but he was doubting himself now. It didn't matter if he lost a few rounds, he was planning on doing that anyway. Now he was kind of reassured, because the girl didn't know what she'd have him do. Of course, that could be a bluff, but he wasn't sure. He was thinking way too much. That meant that he was probably sobering up. Thank god, that would make this battle a lot easier. "Someone thinks highly of herself," he stated with a smirk, setting up Call of Duty. He was ready to win. He needed to win. If not this round, than the night over all. He didn't want to have wasted all this time just to fail to sleep with the girl. He'd done a lot less for sex, and this was getting ridiculous. Hunter would have to make a move soon, he just needed to move carefully. He handed Annabel a controller, and picked one up himself. "Ready when you are."

He was challenging her. With each word that he spoke, her conviction grew. She was going to best him if it was the last thing she did, at least she hoped. Only with Annabel, it was not hope. Not in her own mind. It was determination. If you went into something believing that you would lose, it was happening. If you went in with the self-assurance needed to win, you had a better chance of it. "I guess we will," she smirked, lifting her chin a little. She could keep up with him. She knew she could. In video games there was barely even a question and in all other areas she thought she was good and set as well. Childish naivete and a stubborn pride fuelled her. "Course I think highly of myself, I'm awesome," the girl crowed. She wasn't hesitant to brag if she thought it was a good time for it. She was cocky about her abilities. She didn't have the arrogance to hold it over the heads of people in a rude manner, per say, but she definitely didn't shy away from pointing out how great she thought she was. "'Sides, you're one to talk." Annabel smirked at him, amusement glimmering in her blue eyes. It wasn't an insult, she was just reminding him of the fact that he'd been bragging about himself earlier and she had not forgotten that. Ah, two people that thought they were the next best thing sitting in a room together and wanting drastically different things. It would have been helpful if she'd had psychic powers so she could see how it was all going to pan out before she got herself too far into things but the only powers she had were elemental.
Hunter handed her a controller and her expression shifted from serious and grinning to intense concentration, a glint in her eyes as she fixed them on the screen. "I'm always ready." All the bragging and boasting helped her to feel good about herself, to boost her confidence. Not that she was an insecure person by any means but she went from confident to over-confident this way. It seemed she had a reason to be confident after the first round, for she took Hunter down without too much of an effort. "Told you I was good," she said, nodding to back this up. And so it went for the next few rounds, Annabel gaining confidence a little too rapidly. Her own ego was her downfall for she stopped focusing so intently and lost rather spectacularly after that. "Well fuck." Thirteen (almost fourteen, as she told anyone who would listen) years old she may have been but like a lot of teenagers she had a mouth on her. She gamed a lot and all of her online friends cussed to make themselves sound cool at times so she'd fallen into the habit of parroting the curses they used. She wasn't ashamed of it. Looking at Hunter with reluctant acknowledgement, she admitted, "Okay, okay, ya got me. Your move." She didn't know what he was planning, viewed this more like a game of truth or dare than anything else, so she was not wary in the least. Instead she was just frustrated and exasperated by her loss.
[Moved it along so you had stuff to work off <33]

"You're right. You are pretty awesome," he stated with a grin. "But so am I." He was more or less mirroring the girl. It was what people did to lull people into a sense of familiarity and safety. Not that he actually knew about that. It was a sales tactic, and he just wasn't that good at the theory behind manipulation. It didn't matter, because it was all more or less natural to him. He did what worked, because he had a way with people. Unfortunately, he used this power for evil and not good. Hunter's first loss was painful. Of course, he planned to lose, but it didn't mean that his ego wasn't bruised a little bit by even the most minor defeat. Unfortunately, he was extremely insecure, and that effected everything. Not that he'd ever let it on. After all, he bragged about being the best at just about everything most of the time. "Just wait. I'll come back around," he stated matter-of-factly. Unfortunately, it took quite some time to actually make that happen. There were losses upon losses, but he was persistent, and it seemed like Annabel was having too much fun to stop now. Thank God. If he lost the whole thing, the night would be over far too soon. This seemed to be the only thing that was really on his mind. It was just the constant pessimism of visualizing defeat. He could see a loss too clearly, and it was driving him insane. Fortunately, it wasn't the case, and that made him feel so much better. He could steer the whole night the exact way he wanted it now that Annabel was obligated to do what he said.
Hunter stood up and tracked down his bottle of vodka. He'd only had about a quarter of it, and he looked over at the thirteen year old with a devilish grin on his face. "Okay, since you lost, drink the rest of this," he commanded, still speaking in a friendly tone. "Unless, of course, you can't keep up." There it was - more motivation. Hunter picked up easily that challenges affected her in the same way that they did him. She probably wouldn't say no, and if she did, he'd find a way to get a yes. It's what he did pretty much every weekend, though this one was a considerable bit more difficult than most nights. He made a note to stick to regular party girls instead of the quiet ones sitting alone on a couch. It may have been an interesting challenge, but it was one that took way too much work.
[Thanks so much. <3 You're sure they can't hook up? xD]

Annabel was still smarting a little from the loss, never the type to enjoy having her ass kicked even if it was one time out of ten, so she wasn't too suspicious when he got up to go and get something. Instead she spent the time stretching her fingers and opening and closing her palms, hands sore from intense button mashing. She took her gaming way too seriously sometimes. A part of her knew that it was a bad idea to play for so long and take no breaks and the rest of her didn't care. It was all in good fun. Hunter came back shortly and he had the bottle of vodka in his hand. She knew that it was alcohol, she wasn't a complete idiot, and she faltered when he told her to drink it. Throughout the entire night there had been no alarm bells other than the time when he'd called her sweetie but now they all started going off at once. A guy she barely knew asking her to down a near-full bottle of vodka was more than enough to put her off. There was something not okay about this. It must have showed in her expression that she was uneasy. "I really shouldn't," she said uncomfortably, not liking this. She wasn't good with awkward confrontations. Annabel was social and confident but when it came to something like this she was inexperienced. She'd never had a guy dare her to get drunk before. The fact that it was a challenge hardly mattered, for even Annabel was not going to get completely wasted over a simple game. She was thirteen, innocent and naive, but she was not completely stupid. She knew about stranger danger and alcohol danger and all that good stuff.
I shouldn't have come here. She was feeling that stronger than before now. Annabel was not an overwhelmingly rude person and Hunter hadn't tried anything outright but the attempt to make her drink enough alcohol to put her down for the night was definitely not something that she was alright with. "I should probably get going and find my friends, I told my brother I wouldn't stay out too late." This was a complete lie, she hadn't told Josh anything about this party, but she needed some excuse to get away. "Well, um, bye." She hadn't been rude or slapped him or anything like that, he hadn't leaned too close or done anything physical to make her uncomfortable, but getting a girl drunk was not a good thing in most cases. She'd seen enough movies and heard enough stories from friends to know that bad things happened when people busted out the alcohol. She tracked down Emily, who looked worried and scared (apparently a very drunk guy had been harassing her) and put an arm around the other girl. "Hey, it's okay, Em, I'll call my brother. He'll pick us up." Emily seemed worried but Annabel just really wanted to get the hell out of this party. It wasn't her sort of environment at all. She liked to have fun with friends that didn't involve drinking, drugs, and sex. She didn't do any of these things. She had to deal with her brother's yelling at her when she phoned him and confessed where she was, ending in an irritated, "Fuck's sakes, Belle. I'll be there soon." She twitched her lips at her friend. Well, at least they could end the night soon.
[Nah, sorry, she's not the type xD She told me she'd gtfo right then so .-. Sorry to cut the thread short but I wanted to keep with her character xD]
