Harley hadn’t been back in Maple Hollow very long before deciding that she needed to face Samson. She couldn’t help but feel nothing but anxiety when it came to him. Harley had left him with nothing but a simple note saying she was leaving for a while, and she didn’t know when she would be back. It had broke her heart to leave him, but it had to be done. Now that she was back, she determined it was time to contact him, and let him know she was back. Harley also was feeling a tad bit guilty knowing that he wasn’t the first person she contacted. It had been Josh, but that was just because she wanted to see Josh, and let him know she was alive, and back to stay. Harley had been unable to get Josh a note before leaving with Charolette. But, that’s not what she needed to be thinking about right now. She needed to concentrate on getting to Beatrice’s to have her get Samson to the lake without him knowing it was her. Harley could fully count on Beatrice to do this job. The woman was a genius when it came to getting their dear Sammy to do whatever she wanted. Poor boy probably has done some of the oddest jobs because of that woman. In many ways Beatrice reminded Harley of a young Charolette, or at least how she imagined Charolette in the younger days.
Within minutes, Harley was standing in front of Beatrice’s shop, knocking on the door softly. It took a few moments, but the door swung open, and there stood the crazy, red headed woman. Harley gave her a small smile, and didn’t even wait to be invited in to tell her the plan. It didn’t take a lot of convincing on Harley’s part for Beatrice to agree which was awesome. Harley hated to beg, it injured her pride more than she’d like to admit. Twenty minutes later, Harley was headed to the lake with everything she needed to make the perfect date. She had managed to pick up all of Samson’s favorite foods and drinks, and borrowed a few candles from Beatrice’s shop. She had also snagged her portable IPOD dock from her new apartment before heading back out. Harley was determined to make this one of the best dates she’d ever set up. Not that had been a lot in the first place, but that was okay. She supposed that’s what made it so special. Samson was on of the few guys she was willing to get creative with, and make an effort to keep in her life. Harley had to set up everything, then go back into town to grab the pizza she had ordered just Samson. It was crazy the things she was willing to do for the boy she had fallen head over heels for.
Harley had grabbed a large blanket from Charolette, and set it out on the harder part of the sand, then laid out the candles. She wouldn’t light them yet, not till she got back with all the food that was stored at her apartment. Harley had also managed to snag a few throw pillows for them to lounge on while they talked and ate. After the set up seemed perfect, Harley made her way back to the apartment to change, and get the rest of the stuff she needed. Twenty minutes later, she was back at her apartment taking a shower, and getting all dolled up for Samson. Maybe not dolled up, but more taking more time then usual to look nice. After her shower, Harley pulled on a pair of black skinny jeans, and a new red top that Charolette insisted she buy just Samson, then pulled on her converses. She went back to the bathroom to dry her hair, then straighten in. After all was done, she slipped on the pendent that Samson had given her the first night they had kissed. Her fingers went to her lips as if she the pressure of his lips were still there. Harley walked herself to the kitchen to grabbed the orange soda, cups, a bag of ice, and a cooler. She poured the ice into the small container, then placed the cans of soda into the ice to keep them cool.
Harley grabbed the bag of other things like chips, some strawberries, and other assorted goods. Charolette told her that strawberries were suppose to be a romantic fruit, and for the strangest reason she believed her grandmother. She packed the fruit in with the ice, then headed into town to grab the pizza. Once she was at the lake, Harley set up everything to be perfect, and set up the IPOD dock, and started to play the play list she had made just for Samson. The first song playing was a Nirvana song, but when Samson got there, she was going to play the song, ‘Say it aint so’ by Weezer. Once everything was set up, she called Beatrice to let her know that she could send Samson out for whatever. After she hung up with the woman, she stood out by the edge of the water, and waited for Samson to show up.

Needless to say, Harley’s rather abrupt disappearance rattled Samson. No explanation, no return date, just a note. And his mind instantly went to the fact that he’d done something wrong. That she either realized he wasn’t worth it because of his infidelity or he had screwed up in some other way. Most of his days had been spent going through possibilities in his mind—had he done anything stupid after they reunited in the medical wing? Probably, he thought dryly. He seemed to do a good job with that when it came to Harley. Or maybe it was more noticeable when he did fuck up, because he loved this girl. Where did she go anyway? That was a very important question. He hoped that she was okay, even though her note had led him to believe that she was, but one could never know. Because he didn’t know anything else other than what she told him. Sam tried not to lose too much sleep over it, but it was rather concerning.
He walked into the shop after school, jacket rolled up to his elbows, something that usually betrayed exhaustion. Samson didn’t really take notice of much as he ran his fingers though his hair, but the next thing he knew, his but was being assaulted by a broom. ”Out, out,” Beatrice ordered. He tilted his head and stared at her while trying to move around the impromptu weapon. ”You sir, need to go back to the Academy lake. It’s a nice day. I don’t want you.” Her parenting skills were lovely as usual. He tried to move around her again, wanting to get something from the kitchen if he was being kicked out, but she continued to thwack him with the broom. Sam held up his hands in surrender as he backed out of the shop. ”And try to fix yourself up or something along the way. You look homeless, and I provide for you, boy.” He looked down at his hoodie, the actually nice polo shirt underneath. He looked good enough, he thought, and besides, who cared? Harley wasn’t around to look good for.
Sam headed back to the castle, and felt like a marathon runner. Not like it was close, especially since it was up in the mountains. At least it really was nice out, Beatrice wasn’t lying about that. Spring was here, but it still wasn’t warm enough to go swimming. So why did Beatrice want him to go to the lake? Sometimes, he had lapses in his decision not to wonder about the things she did. He returned to doing that as he entered the Academy. From there it took only a short amount of time to get to the lake and before he even reached it, he heard the music. The fuck…? He walked closer, now curious, and saw what was probably the greatest sight he’d seen in a while. Harley. Harley with food and music and Harley. Harley looking beautiful and she had food. This day had suddenly become much, much better. This coaxed a smile out of him, and he came up to the blanket, taking Harley into his arms and pulling her up so that he could spin her around. She was light, so it was easy for him. When he was done with that, he pressed his lips against hers, hands on her hips. God, he’d missed her.
He didn’t part for a long while, just held her in his arms as long as possible. Hey, she might try and leave again. Samson couldn’t be having that. Eventually, he decided that he should let go, and he pulled away, took out his phone. ”I hope this is for me,” he texted out, his expression mischevious. Because he saw pizza and soda, and Harley knew him so well. He liked that. However, there were also a ton of questions that having a voice would have made easier to ask. Instead, he texted out a list. ”1. Are you okay? 2. Where were you? 3. Is everything okay? 4. I love you. 5. How’s your family? 5. Did I mention I love you? 6. Because I really fucking love you.”

There was a deep anxiety within Harley as she waited for Samson to arrive. What if he didn’t want her anymore? Or worse, what if he had moved on from her to a girl that was much better than her? How awful that would be, and how heartbroken she would be. Harley tugged at her red hair willing to stay in place, and be perfect. Once she was done messing with her hair, Harley played with the hem of her shirt trying to get rid of these nerves that threatened to consume her. Beatrice had reassured her that Samson only had eyes for her, but how would Beatrice know? Samson didn’t have to bring the girls he liked around her, did he? Had he brought Jolene around Beatrice? Harley frowned at the thought of Beatrice and Jolene in the same room. She imagined Beatrice annoying Jolene more than anything. Samson’s mother was someone only certain people could handle. Harley considered herself blessed that she had grown up with a woman like Charolette. Beatrice wasn’t a bother to Harley because really the crazy woman was just a younger version of Charolette. Harley knew how to handle Charolette, so therefore she could handle Beatrice. Green eyes flitted back and forth between the lake and where Samson should be arriving through. She really hoped he liked the set up; she’d put a lot of thought in it. She wanted this to be special, their reunion. Harley really missed Samson, more than most people would realize.
With a slight sigh, Harley walked towards the blanket she had laid out for the two of them and looked up towards the sky. Had Beatrice convinced him to leave, and come to the lake? She could only imagine what the woman had said to him to get him to come out here. Harley’s mind began to wonder when she heard a snapping sound coming from where Samson was suppose to arrive from. Her eyes went wide at the sight of him. Harley smiled so wide that it almost hurt. Harley had to fight the urge to run to him, and never let go of him. When he walked up to her, and picked her up, Harley’s feet tucked up toward her body and she wrapped her arms around Samson’s neck. She honestly never wanted to let go of him. It almost didn’t feel real that he was there in front of her, spinning her around. Harley laughed at his spinning, and never wanted it to stop. Harley was dizzy when Samson had put her down, but glad for the closeness of him. It had been such a long time since she was able to press her lips against his, at least it felt that way. His kisses were still the best she’d had, and knew she wouldn’t get any better than his. With her arms still wrapped around his neck, Harley melted at his kiss. She was almost resistant to pull away from it, but she did.
Harley was so thankful for his closeness, and just couldn’t get enough. She moved her arms from his neck to around his waist, and rested her head against his chest while they just stood there like that. She knew that when she felt him pull away that it was because he probably wanted to say something, which she hoped was all good. When her green eyes red over what he had typed out, she gave him a sly smile before saying, “No, it’s for this extremely hot guy that I know. You just happened to be here at the right time, and you just happen to be good looking.
” Harley grinned at him before kissing his cheek. Before she could ask him to sit down, she saw him typing at a fast rate, and it seemed to be long. When Samson was done typing, she read over his list of things, and grinned. “ First, yes, I am okay. Second, I was in the city with Charolette. She had to be hospitalized in a bigger hospital. Third, everything is great now that I’ve seen you,” Harley took a breath before continuing on. “ Forth, I love you too. Fifth, Kansas is fine. She stayed here so she wouldn’t get behind in school. Charolette,” Harley choked up on her name. She was finding it hard to tell Samson that something was wrong with her grandmother. “ She’s dying. She doesn’t have very long until she passes. And, yes, you have but I love hearing it. Have I mentioned that I really fucking love you, too?” Harley wrapped her arms around him, and lead him over to the blanket. She began to pull out a plate, and put two pieces of pizza on it for Samson. Then she grabbed him a soda, and passed it over to him with a smile. “ So, what’s happened while I was gone? Nothing too exciting, I hope.” Harley made herself a plate of pizza, then sat herself next to Samson. She took a bite, and glanced over at Samson. God, he was beautiful. Not in a girly way, but in a handsome way. It was difficult for Harley to try, and put in words, but she knew what she was talking about, and that’s all that matter. Other than Samson of course. Samson tilted his head when Harley spoke, his face serious. ”Looks like I’m kicking someone’s ass,” he texted out, even though he knew that meant he’d be kicking his own ass. He had faith in Harley, he trusted her. No one could ever know for certain if their partner cheated or not, but it was always about not having a doubt. If you loved your girlfriend, there should never be doubt. Unless, of course, it’s provided from a little bitch—whoa, Sam, not nice—who wanted him to herself. The problem was that he already belonged to someone, and he knew that he always would. There would be no temptation because she was the only girl on his mind. Evne when he was with Jolene, it was always Harley, always her lips he wanted to be kissing, always her voice that he wanted to hear. Being with Jolene was more torture than anything, confusing, devastating.
His lips stayed in a smile—oh, the things this girl did to him—when she kissed his cheek. He stayed quiet, the thing he was best at, when she answered his slew at questions. Even though she was a Fire through and through, he was astounded at the patience she could have with him. Maybe it was Kansas’s influence? Or maybe he wasn’t as hard to deal with as he thought he was, but he was pretty sure that he was annoying as fuck. After all, he was horrible when it came to love. He tried his best with Harley, but somehow he believed he was always doing something wrong. It was probably because she made him so happy, all the time, and he had to wonder if he made her feel the same way. She took you back, he thought, but it still didn’t ease all his worries. What if she only pities him and his love? No, no, he was confident she loved him. He had to be. He didn’t want to lose this girl again.
Samson cradled her chee in his hand when she choked up on her grandmother’s name, stroked his thumb against her cheek. He tensed up when Harley said that she was dying. His thoughts were many then, ranging from how that old woman was so great to wondering what Harley and her sister would do without her. But he kept composed, because he needed to be strong for her. He closed his eyes and pressed his lips against her forehead, holding her again, arms strong around her. Well fuck. He had no idea that that was why she left, that it was because her grandmother, the woman who took care of her after her parents died, was dying. He couldn’t have even imagined. And was Harley dealing with this? How was Kansas dealing with this? He pulled away for more questions. ”What’s going to happen to Kansas?” Harley was an adult, but Kansas was not and he didn’t want to imagine her being put into foster care. Because even though his girlfriend was eighteen, she had school and to basically be a mother? ”I’ll help out any way I can, you know that.”
He came with her to sit on the blanket, and accepted the food and drink with a kiss to her cheek. He took a bite of the pizza before brushing off his fingers to answer her question. ”Bea’s got a boyfriend. Can’t say I approve. And Jolene was shipped off to the loony bin.” One was bad and the other was…good. He couldn’t say someone being institutionalized was great, but Jolene did have problems, and that for the best. The boyfriend thing. ”Haven’t met the boytoy yet.” That was his main concern. He needed to make sure that this guy was good enough for his mother. He took more bites of the pizza and gave Harley a thumbs up to show her that she did very good.

harley couldn't help but to grin at the boy in front of her. he always had a way of making her laugh. she shook her head, making her red hair fall back from her face. "just don't hurt him too badly; he's sensitive,
" harley teased. harley reached up, and brushed her hair back from his face, and smiled. she had missed him so much over the past months, and was glad that she was getting spend this time with him. all harley wanted to do was stay with him forever, like this. harley knew that she was in love with him, and didn't want any other guy in her life. harley was glad that jolene wasn't in their life anymore. harley let her her fingers trail over samson's face, tracing the curves on his face. she gave him a slight smile, and traced over his nose and lips. harley wanted to memorize eveything about him, even though she already did. harley was so happy that she and samson had fixed everything between them. she didn't know if she could live without him anymore. the whole grace period they had had been on, harley had been so depressed and lazy, charolette got irritated with her. it had been miserable, but she had managed to get out of her funk with the help of josh and devin. they'd helped her distract her mind from samson and jolene. though, when she and samson had gotten back together, she had had the urge to make him was out his mouth until it burned. but alas, she didn't. harley was just glad she wouls be abke to hold him, and not worry about him being with some girl. it was her, and no one else. harley leaned her cheek into his hand, and closed her eyes. harley didn't know what she was going to do with out charolette. she didn't know how she was going to tell kansas. hell, she didn't even know anything. harley didn't want this to be real, harley just wanted to wake up from it. when she opened her eyes, harley shrugged at samson's question. " i think charolette is signing over custody to me. i'll become her guardian." it was a big responsibilty, but kansas was older, becoming independent. harley wouldn't have to worry about her forever. well, she would, but at least they could both get an education, and harley wouldn't have to put her life on hold. of course, harley would if she needed too. harley gave samson a small smile, and said, " thank you samson. i know you would, and i apperciate it so much." the fire student reached up to him, and gave him a small kiss. silently, harley ate and watched samson. she smirked at him, and shook her head. bea had a boyfriend? that was crazy, but if the woman was happy then harley was happy for her. harley snorted at samson, and said, " maybe she hasn't indroduced you because she knows how you are, love. i mean, you can be a smart ass, and mean." she gave a chuckle, and took a bite of pizza. she chewed for a few moments before adding, " and you fuck with peoples mind. so, of course she won't indroduce you to him. but don't worry, i'll find ways to keep you busy." harley teased him lightly, but slight huskiness to her voice suggested that she was being serious too. Even though he was glad to have her back in his life, Samson was really concerned about Harley. This new development wasn't very good at all, and a frown tugged on his lips, souring his expression. Not that he was the smiley type anyway, but it wasn't everyday you heard that your girlfriend was going to lose someone important to her. His eyes widened slightly when he heard that she would become Kansas' legal guardian. "Wow. You'll be like a mommy. I think you could be responsible enough." He brushed his fingers through her hair, finding that he couldn't keep his hands off of her. He finally had her back, he wasn't going to let go. Not again, not ever. And he was going to enjoy the time he had with the girl now, especially since she was going through such a hard time. He returned the kiss, delighting in the butterflies that were always there. He didn't think they'd ever go away, and he wouldn't want them to.
Samson feigned shock as he placed his pizza down, looking at her with wide eyes. Wiping off his fingers on his jeans, he texted out, "It's great to know what you think of me, baby. I'm a great catch clearly." He cleared the screen and then wrote out more seriously, "You really think that's it? I mean, I was thinking of asking him if he'd be my new daddy..." Yeah, she really was right about him, because if there was anyone who knew him best, it was Harley. He considered her words thoughtfully, trying to get inside the mind of his mother. Beatrice probably knew how he would respond to this new development. He didn't like change in that way, and he often liked to prove how much he didn't like something. It made him wonder if she had any other secret boyfriends around that he never knew that. Sam didn't want to consider it. "You may be terribly cruel to me, but you're smart." That was true at least.
At her teasing, he leaned over to bite on her ear playfully. She could distract him from anything just by being around. It was dangerous, actually. He was afraid to get a car and have her in it, perhaps he'd swerve off the road and roll into a ditch. A thought occurred then, and he didn't really want to talk about it, but he knew they'd have to. "I've been meaning to tell you...we probably shouldn't hang around too much here." Even typing that out brought pain, and he grimaced. He fucking hated the alliances, even though he was very loyal to his own element. It was more or less carrying on his father's legacy. "I mean, since you've switched sides in both wars...this school's just fucking annoying with it." He put his arm around her and typed with only one hand then. "But that means I want to see you a lot more outside of school. And I will be an annoying, overbearing boyfriend that you talk to your girlfriends about." He nodded, as if establishing the certainty of that situation.

Harley knew that taking on the care of Kansas would be difficult, but it’s what she had to do to keep her sister out of the system. Harley refused to lose everyone in her family, and wouldn’t let Kansas be on her own. She would be glad to get support from Samson, but if she didn’t it would be okay, too. Harley smiled lightly at Samson, and his words. “I sure hope so. Though, I think she’s old enough to take care of herself, but I don’t mind providing for her. Charolette’s leaving us the house, so at least we’ll have that,
” she told him with a hint of sadness. It would be a sad day to see Charolette not walking around the old house, cleaning and nagging at the girls to stop mopping. It would definatly be hard to tell Kansas, but Harley was sure that Charolette would tell her, and not leave it Harley to break the news. Harley didn’t know if she could tell her sister something like that. She knew it would break Kansas’ heart. Harley wouldn’t be able to bear looking at her face when telling her. When she looked at Samson though, the thoughts vanished, and she remembered that she was here to spend time with the boyfriend she had left behind. Harley loved the feeling of his fingers in her hair, the way his lips tasted. It almost felt like she had never left him here. The red head snorted at her boyfriend. He was such a smart ass sometimes, but she loved it. Harley rolled her eyes at him, and lightly smacked him. “ Samson Fisher, you are such an awful child,” Harley told him with humor in her voice. He really wasn’t that awful, he just liked to mind rape people all the time. “ Awh, I know. I think of you all the time, dear. Though I have to say, if you ask this man to be your new daddy, I do suggest you get some help. Harley chuckled at Samson. He was such a goof sometimes, but she loved it about him. Harley shook her head, and gave Samson a look. He really didn’t like this new boy that Beatrice had around. Harley had to grin at that. He was being a real son, and it was so funny. “ You know, I kind of like this while protective thing on you; it’s sexy.” She wiggled her brows at the boy in what was suppose to be a sexy way, but she knew she looked like a fool. Harley snorted at Samson. “ Cruel? Me? I think I spoil you, good sir,” she said in a serious voice that was laced with humor. In all honesty, they spoiled each other. When Samson leaned over, and bit her ear, Harley squealed. She lamely tried to push him away from her, but didn’t really try. She liked him being near her, and the news he was about to give her wouldn’t change her mind. Harley straightened up at his words, and tried not to sour her face in disappointment. Harley knew this was coming, but it was still hard. They had to be so careful on where they hung out or how secluded they were. It was times like these she wished she had just kept her mouth shut, and stayed within their alliance, but she couldn’t have done that. It wouldn’t have been her. Harley laced her fingers through his when his arm went around her. She smiled up at him, and said, “ I saw it coming. I mean come on, the Academy is like any other school. Once you switch loyalties, you are screwed. I don’t mind as much anymore.” The only time she minded was when it interfered with her time with Samson, which was a lot more since she was now in college, and he was a senior. Not much of a difference, but they did see less of each other. Harley laughed. “ I think I can deal with that. As long as you don’t mind an overbearing, annoying girlfriend that will badger you to death. Well, maybe not to death because then I’d be sad,” Harley said with a slight frown. She’d die if Samson died. It’d be like a chain reaction. “ So, I just figured out that if I asked Beatrice to meet this new boy, that’d you’d be able to meet him.” Harley nodded at her statement. Samson wasn't a naturally empathetic person. He guessed it was something he had in common with his element. They were all scattered and somewhat emotionally detached, but not everyone was the same of course. However, hearing the sadness in Harley's voice was like a stab to the chest. He kissed her temple, still feeling that wish he could do something more. But he couldn't save her grandmother's life. Couldn't be someone that could save the day, as much as he wished he could be that person for Harley. "You two will do just fine," he texted, and he yearned for a voice that was soft and confident to assure her. Because he was pretty damn certain. Harley wasn't someone who could easily succumb to circumstances. She was powerful, and he knew she loved her sister. That could be just enough to make it.
He mocked offense when she hit him, locking his arm around her neck and giving her a noogie. He snorted hearing her rebut his comment about asking the man to be his new daddy, letting her go so he could text. "I could beat you up, you should be kinder to me." Like he'd ever lay a hand on her. Not only was he raised to respect women, both from his mother and Beatrice, but he loved Harley. He never got angry with her, barring the time he had been deluded into thinking she was something she certainly was not. He was still struggling to move on from that. He would remember those months to make him better, because he didn't want to fuck this up like he did with other relationships. Samson flicked her forehead when Harley waggled her eyebrows, even though what he really wanted to do was kiss her and hold her and do things to her that shouldn't be done in public places. "You should see what I do to guys that look at you the wrong way." He grinned, because he wasn't lying. You didn't mess with Samson's girl. Because yeah, honestly, she did spoil him. She was a lot more than he believed he deserved.
He smirked when he felt Harley's fingers on his arm. This girl was strong, but that didn't mean he was never concerned about her. It came with the territory. "Yeah, the difference here is that you can get your ass fried." It was too true how similar the school was to middle school clicks. Middle school only because he'd never been to a real high school, having gone to the Academy since he was fourteen. But he figured it would be the same in high school, too, considering that public schools were pretty much all the same. "I worry about you," he texted out. It was no fun to have your former allies after you. And not all the elements are completely accepting. It got complicated. He rested his cheek on her head and sighed. "I'll be looking forward to seventy texts a day. We'll be that couple. The one that everyone gags at." He stuck a finger in his throat with wide eyes. Luckily for anyone around them, he wasn't the mushy type. But he loved his girlfriend, and he'd do anything to show that.
He lifted in consideration at Harley's words, smirking. Yes, his girlfriend was smart in a very terrible way. "Sounds like a plan. Come by for dinner sometime. I'll make sure to order out." He really didn't understand how Lark managed to suffer through one of Beatrice's meals, but whatever. She was weird. "And I still have to meet your family," he wrote out next. 'You've been hiding them from me." He knew that wasn't true because, hey, she hadn't met his family. But he really didn't have one. When Beatrice took him in, he lost touch simply because she wasn't a relative. Not that he'd been close with them before. They were scattered throughout the country (and others) and so his parents hadn't really kept in touch with them.

It felt nice to know that Samson supported her. Harley knew it would be difficult, but she was willing to do whatever it took to take care of her sister. It wasn’t like they didn’t get along, and stuff. Sure, there would be struggles since Harley was her sister, and not her mother. Harley didn’t want this to be hard on Kansas, but she knew it would take time to transition into a world were she would be alone. Not completely alone, but have no true adult supervision. Not a day went by that she doesn’t regret what happened to their parents, but things can’t be changed. Harley still hadn’t told Kansas about that, and didn’t know if she could now. She didn’t want so much sadness on her sister’s shoulders. Kansas would barely be able to deal with Charolette, let alone dealing with the fact that it was her older sister’s fault that their parents had died. Harley smiled a sad smile at Samson, and said, “Thank you, Samson. It means a lot to me.
” Harley would be determined to make it work for her and her sister, no matter what. She’d try to give her little sister everything she could, and more if possible. Harley laughed, but it was cut off when Samson put her in a neck hold, and started giving her a noogie. “ Samson!” Harley swatted at his arm, but was laughing the whole time. Once he let go, she straightened out her hair, and stuck her tongue out at him. Harley had taken all of five minutes to do her hair, and he went and messed it all up. She pretended to pout at him, but it lasted a whole minute when he said that he could beat her up. Harley couldn’t help but snort at him. “ No, I would beat you up. You should be nicer to me. I just take it easy on you so you don’t feel down that your girlfriend can beat you up,” Harley chuckled. To be honest, she was pretty sure that Samson could beat her up, but she didn’t think he ever would. Beatrice would beat him senseless. Charolette would beat him senseless, and she’s old and knocking on deaths door. Harley rubbed her forehead with a scrunched up look on her face. “ What was that for? I demand you kiss it, and make it better!” She pointed at the spot he flicked her on. Harley raised her brow at him with a mild look of amusement on her face. “ I didn’t realize guys looked at me. But, do tell. What is it you do to them, Sammy?” Harley was very amused by the thought of him doing things to defend her as his girl. The red head shrugged, and brushed off his comment. “ Yeah, but with a reputation like mine, people tend to leave me alone.” Harley had only been to an elementary school, her parents had taken her out of middle school due to her behavior problems. Then when she was sent to the Academy at thirteen after her parents death. Harley had always lacked in the social skills area, but it had gotten a little better when she came to the academy. But the past year she had gone from a bad ass to a lame ass. No one wanted to talk to her unless in secret, and even then it was rare. Harley honestly didn’t care about that kind of thing, but she got irritated with people because of it. She didn’t have a disease, she just chose a different path then what people wanted her to chose. Harley shook her head. “ You don’t have to, but I know you do. I worry about you.” The last thing Harley wanted was Samson to be isolated because he was dating her. She knew he was loyal to his element, and had already told him time and time again that she would never make him choose between her and it. Harley chuckled at him. “ Pft, why be that couple? We can be a unique couple, the couple that everyone should be jealous of,” she gave him a crooked smile. Harley thought for a moment, and nodded her head. “ That sounds like a plan to me. Though, I can cook for you guys. I know you miss my cooking.” Harley couldn’t cook a lot, but she could cook very well. Her mind wandered to the first time she had cooked for Samson. That had been a good night for her. Probably the best ever. Harley raised a brow at Samson. True, she hadn’t introduced him to them yet. They had been dating for a while, and Harley wasn’t sure why she hadn’t. Wait, she remembered. She knew how Charolette was. “ Hey, you can come meet them at anytime. They’ve been dying to meet you anyways,” she told him. Harley wanted him to meet Charolette before she passed, and she knew Charolette wanted to meet him too. Though, Harley wasn’t too sure if the old woman would try to beat him with a broom or not. It could happen. “ Be warned, Charolette keeps a broom by her bed, so if she tries to beat you, I can’t save you.” Harley laughed quietly at the image of it. Samson never had a bond with anyone like the one he had with Harley. Not even with all the other girlfriends who he really couldn't even remember anymore. Because they didn't matter now that he had Harley. He grinned as she flattened out her hair. Another thing he liked about her was the fact that he wasn't a high-maintenance chick that got offended over things like him messing up her hair. He did his signature silent laugh. And now he was kind of curious. "Oh, thank you for sparing my manhood. I'm so glad that you've just been holding back." He rolled his eyes at her exaggeratedly. Okay, he'd admit that she would give him a run for his money. She was a scraper, and he wasn't trained or anything like that. Not that he would back down from a fight. Sam considered the redhead as she ordered him to kiss her 'booboo' and he leaned forward as if he were about to do so before inclining his head to claim her lips instead. He grinned tauntingly. Apparently Harley didn't realize that she was hot (in more ways than one, though he resisted any punny humor) when telling her what was up. "Apparently you never look in a mirror," he typed out, rolling his eyes, "but guys love you. Which means that I need cause them temporary paralysis. Hopefully one day I get so good at it they won't be able to have children." Though written jokingly, the intention behind it was very serious.
He stopped eating for a moment, leaning back. Let's just hope it stays that way. He didn't say it out loud, just focused on finishing off his food that Harley had gotten for him like the awesome person she was. He gave her a soft smile when she said that she worried about him too, and he guessed it was only natural. When you loved someone, you worried about them no matter what. And considering the two's relationship had the whole forbidden thing going on, it was cause for concern. Considering Harley was going through a lot with her personal life, that was another cause right there. He bumped shoulders with her when she spoke of their coupledom before finishing off his slice and wiping his fingers off to type. "Because we've already achieved that, love. Let's go above and beyond. The super couple." Because fuck, they were amazing together. And he was sure a lot of people understood that.
He nodded at her words, acquiring a sad expression and pulling her into a hug, resting his chin on her head. Oh yes, he missed her cooking. Her awesome grilled cheese that made his heart melt...like cheese. Today is a punny day. It was interesting to hear that they were dying to meet him, apparently. He pulled away, smirking. "I take it you tell great (and exagerrated) things about me." He really didn't consider himself anything special or a real good person. But he liked to believe he was good for Harley, and he would set out to prove as much to anyone who questioned it. Samson blinked before typing out, "A broom? Why does the woman have a broom by her bed?" He almost laughed thinking that she may be afraid of the bogeyman or something. He didn't think he'd ever been afraid of the monsters under his bed, but then again, he liked to be Mr. Tough Guy as a child. He was stoic even back then.

There was certainty with Harley that she and Samson had something good. Other people may not like it, but they’d have to get over it. As long as their families accepted each other, and they were happy, other people’s opinion. In honest, Harley had never had a relationship like what she has with Samson. Her past relationships had never been like this. They’d always been holding hands, the occasional date, but nothing like this. Her relationship with Samson has been by far the best she’s had, and she didn’t plan on getting rid of him. Rest assured that if another female tried to steal him from her, she wouldn’t be nearly as nice as she had been with Jolene. Of course, that was until prom. Harley was always curious on how things would’ve turned out had she decided not to go to prom. Would she and Samson still be separated? Charolette seemed to believe that fate would’ve taken care of it either way. The old woman always thought like that, not that Harley didn’t love her. Harley nodded at him, and said, “No problem, Sammy. You know me, always thinking of others and their feelings.
” Harley beamed at him. It was always nice to have such easy going conversations with him. Harley had a winning smile when he went to kiss her ’booboo’, and instead kissed her lips. Harley grinned even wider, and kissed him back for the moment. Though the thought of them beating each other up didn’t sound very tempting. Well, Harley thought about it for a moment. Wrestling was completely different then beating the shit out of each other. She wouldn’t mind wrestling him. He’d probably beat her on that. Harley was more speed then strength unless she was scrapping with a girl. That was a whole other story. Harley scoffed at him. “ I avoid mirrors at all costs. I’m afraid I might break it,” she told him with a returned eye roll. “ I doubt guys like me that much. I think it’s just you, my dear Sammy. Though, I think you can pay attention to me any day,” Harley said with a smirk. Harley laughed a little at his threat. It was definatly cute, and she liked that he felt that he needed to do that for her. “ Well, I wouldn’t want children with them anyways.” Harley hadn’t really thought of having kids of her own. She hated to think that she would bring a child into this kind of world where it was very possible that her child could die just because of her element. Granted, if she did have kids they’d know how to defend themselves with their element and their fists. Harley would never let her child leave the house without knowing how to protect themselves and throw a punch the correct way. It was odd thinking of having kids at such a young age. Hell, she didn’t even know what she wanted to do after college let alone have kids. Plus, now she had Kansas to take care of. For the moment, Harley just watched Samson. He was the perfect specimen, and she never wanted to lose him again. She smiled a little when he polished off the food she had brought for him. He was such a guy when it came to food, though she could easily match his appetite when she wanted too. Harley smiled at him when he bumped her shoulder, and she bumped it back. “ Well, I guess we will become the super couple of the Academy. We defy the rules, and just don’t care,” Harley wagged her brows at him, but threw up her hands to protect her forehead. Though she wouldn’t mind if he had kissed her again. Harley snorted as she leaned into his hug. “ I tell great things about you that are all true. Nothing to exaggerate.” She told him simply. Charolette knew everything about him, mostly. Kansas was just excited in general, and well, Harley couldn’t blame her. Samson was kind of awesome in that way. Harley raised a brow, and shook her head. “ She keeps a broom because she likes to beat people when they don’t listen, or just because she can. She also doesn’t like the bugs that get into her room.” [/blockquote][/blockquote] tags : Samson <33 words : 711 muse : Great <3 lyrics : STEREO HEARTS; GYM CLASS HEROES outfit : OUTFIT credit : POKÉMON from CAUTION 2.0 notes : I LOVE THEM <33

Even though he didn't tell her, Samson believed the whole 'looking out for others' thing was true. At least when it came to her family. He didn't think he could be with someone who was completely selfish. He knew that type, unfortunately been with that type. It wasn't pleasant to get nothing in return while in a relationship. But that was the past now, his break-ups, and his heart was doing just fine. He remembered Beatrice doing her best to nurse him, even though he really didn't want that, he was a guy, he could take care of himself. Nothing got to him, in his demeanor his actions. Strong, sturdy, an oak growing tall in the wilderness. He looked out at the lake, placid in its movements, looking like an ocean. Waves from a slight breeze sluiced onto the shore, and he actually felt at peace right now. It was easy to find this feeling with Harley.
He almost couldn't believe that Harley didn't think guys looked at her. Not that he was pleased about that that, of course not, but he kept an eye on things like that. Still, it comforted him that her obliviousness would prevent anything, even though he trusted her without question. "Well, don't pay attention to those boys, I'll take care of them," he typed out, his fingers starting to bother him a little. Such was the downside when living in silence. Forever. Unless he got one of those voice amplifier things, but he didn't want to sound like an inhuman robot. He was fine with the way he was, especially since Harley seemed to have no objections. Samson nodded, completely understanding. "You only want these genes, I know." Hell, he believed he had pretty incredible genes. His parents had been cool people, and there was a pull that wished they were alive so Harley could meet them. She had a feeling their senses of humor would go together quite well, but that was a moot point now. He tried not to miss them.
Honestly, Sam had to admire the appetite of most chick's he knew. It was kind of frightening, especially when the stereotype was that they ate only small portions. A complete lie. Hell, Sam admired chicks for a lot of things. The top one had to be Harley, and it was the fact that she was involved in their coupledom that made them super. He was glad just to hold her in his arms again. He couldn't get over that chasm of time. "You're too kind," he wrote out. It took an effort to keep his mouth straight when she told him about her grandmother. Oh dear. She sounded...neurotic. Or something. His fingers moved along the screen once more as he type, "I'm kind of scared now. She won't hurt me will she?" Ah, he could take a broom. He'd never had to take one before. Well, there was Beatrice, but usually that was to move him from point a to point b. What was it with old ladies and broom? He almost winced as he thought that. Bea would not appreciate being called old. At all.

There was silence as she watched Samson for a few heart beats. She didn’t want to disturb his thoughts, and it gave her a few moments to get lost in her own. Her mind was everywhere, not really wanting to settle on just one thought. Harley couldn’t wrap her mind around Charolette, for one. It seemed just like yesterday that Harley had moved in with Charolette, and would be starting at the Academy. Quite frankly, she wished that were true. How she wished she could go back, and redo some of the things she’s done. If she could, she would even go back to the first war. Would she change her mind? Probably not, but still. If she could change some of things that had happened, she would. Harley would never regret that choice. She had proved that something’s were more important than loyalty to people would probably would never have your back then to true friends. Though that hadn’t really worked out either. In the end it did, but at the time when she needed her friends the most they wanted nothing to do with her. A plus, she had gained a phenomenal relationship with Samson. The one thing that irked her about that was that they’d have to hide it for a while. Harley would never allow Samson to chose her over his element; she knew he was too loyal, and it would kill him. It had killed her to turn on her own, but it had to be done. Now she just didn’t care.
Harley had to chuckle at Samson, and his somewhat jealously. She cocked a red brow at him, and merely shrugged. She wasn’t interested in any other guys. Especially around the Academy. Most of them were jerks, or just wouldn’t date tainted blood like hers. Not that she cared what people thought her blood was. It wasn’t her fault people had no morals these days. Granted there were a few people who didn’t believe her blood was tainted, but still. “It’s cute when you’re jealous, and protective.
” Harley laughed, and let her head rest against his chest. Harley listened to the beat of his heart for a few moments before laughing at his message. She raised her head, and smiled. “ Of course yours are the only ones I want! Think of how adorable our children would be!” She laughed again. The thought of kids right now frightened her, and she would not be having that. Of course, practice never hurt, but she didn’t need anymore stress. The thought of having a kid with Samson kind of scared her. She knew they were serious, but he was still in high school, and she barely had her own footing in the adult world. Maybe in the future when she had a job, and didn’t have to take care of a fifth teen year old. If there was one thing Harley did not mind, it was being snuggled in Samson’s arms. She could stay in his arms all day, and not care about the outside world. If that said world wasn’t so chaotic at the moment, that’s where she’d stay, but alas the universe has other plans for her. Apparently they had plenty of time to stay that way in the future. She hoped anyways. Harley let out an unattractive snort at his message. “ You flatter me far too much Samson Fisher.” Which was very true. He made her out to be some angel when they both knew she was far from being an angel. More like a freaking demon, especially when angry. Harley shrugged at his question, and said, “ Depends if she is in a beating mood. We could find out. Would you like to meet her today?” Honestly, Harley didn’t know if Charolette would beat him senseless, but she’d protect him. “ Don’t worry, I won’t let her damage your pretty face, Sammy.” She gave him a crooked smile. Jealousy wasn't the best trait, he knew that, but it's what happened when you wanted to keep something all to yourself. It was only nature. He had her and he wanted to have her with no one else coming between that. No Jolenes, no stupid mistakes, nothing. That didn't make him one of those over productive guys, right? Not like he was stopping Harley from going out whenever she wanted to, blowing up her phone when she did. And Harley apparently thought it was cute, which was all that he needed. If she approved, then it was fine by all means. If anyone else had a problem, they could shove it up their asses. Samson didn't go out seeking approval from others, he was self-confident, sure of himself. It would suck for this relationship if he wasn't. People could so easily give in to what their friends said, and he wouldn't pretend like all his friends approved of Harley. Just like he was sure that some of her friends didn't approve of him.
He held her against his chest, resting his chin on her head. Letting go of her for a moment, he typed out, "What if they're gingers like you? I don't think I can raise gingers." It felt easy to joke around about a possible future like this. He wanted a future with her. Sure, he was in high school and Beatrice would probably have something to say about how strongly he felt, but he was assured enough to know what he wanted. He was always like that, from the time he was little and he was certain that he wanted to use live bait when his parents' had always told him to use artificial ones. He had never lost that stubbornness. Beatrice couldn't even sway him, she never had the ability to, really. She offered her advice, most of it unrealistic, and he paid attention, but he always paid his own way.
He blinked down at the girl when she snorted. She was adorable when she did things like that, and he just wanted to squeeze her like a teddy bear. He could never admit how gooey he felt with her. All guys wanted to keep up the image of manliness, wanted to be Beowulf or Odysseus, not swayed by woman or siren. Even though they all knew how untrue that was. Falling in love was far too easy. He sighed. "You can't just tell me this woman is armed with a fucking broom and then ask if I want to meet her." He was joking, of course. He was certain he could handle a thwacking with a cleaning utensil from an old lady if she didn't take a liking to him. Hey, I can be charming, he thought sardonically. He actually could, when it mattered. He was raised with manners, and it would be rather disrespectful should he just disregard everything that had been shoved down his throat since childhood. "But all right. She does need to meet me. Hopefully she doesn't fall in love with my smooth ways." Okay, he was kind of nervous, but not like his macho facade would allow any hint of that. Again, he didn't rely on the opinion of others, but he didn't want there to be any more problems for Harley. She already had enough to deal with in her life.
