Skye didn't know what had possessed her to climb the Academy's old bell tower. She'd never done it before, despite having been here for years, and actually, now that she was halfway through her second to last year here (assuming she'd be returning for her Senior year -- and really, at this point, it would be a waste and a nuisance not to return to take her damn degree) she was starting to feel like there was plenty to do around this place that she'd never really thought about before. It was pretty strange, too, because Skye had always thought she was fairly in-tune with everything around her, and in particular when it came to the Academy, after six and a half years, she was otherwise pretty confident that she hadn't missed out on much around here. She knew her way around, could point the way to most classrooms -- and, though she wouldn't say she knew too many of them personally, could name most of the people she saw wandering around. The bell tower, though, she'd never climbed, though she'd known for a long time that it was definitely very possible and very allowed, except for the actual bell chamber itself. It was worth a shot one day, maybe.
So with her bag (her mostly empty bag now, because hauling so much up all those stairs would be awful) and just a tiny bit of homework in case she did happen to find somewhere to sit around up there, she started up the tower. It was pretty late -- high school classes were certainly done, at least -- so unless there were some weird circumstances, the bell probably wouldn't ring. That was lucky, too, since it'd probably echo pretty horribly in its own tower. She started climbing, but zoned out of reality at what she expected was about halfway up -- everything looked the same in here, so there wasn't much to look at other than stairs and walls, and she could only handle so much of those. Skye kept moving, but she'd clocked out -- and unfortunately, it was only a little while later when she walked right into... someone. "Er -- sorry," she said before really looking properly to see who it was, blinking a few times and trying to refocus. "Yeah, sorry, I didn't expect anyone else to be up here... Altair, right?" She just said the first name that came to mind, becoming acutely aware on after she'd said it that, if she remembered correctly, Altair was one of three triplets, and she didn't really know any of them well enough to pick them out. Hopefully, the girl she'd just bumped into was Altair... and hopefully she didn't mind being walked into.

Altair loved the summer months. They meant shorts and flip-flops and the beach. It was nice to let everything out after practical hibernation during the winter. The Academy lake was a nice place to hang around, that was, whenever Water students were nearby. She had spread out a towel from her dorm, and sat down on it, kicking off her flip-flops and pinning up her hair to keep it falling from her high bun. The sweat beaded down the back of her neck and she kept wiping at it in distaste. Otherwise, she was feeling pretty good about herself. About everything, actually. She had gotten the contract to work for a modeling agency, the school year was going well as far as academics went, and she was in a rather comfortable spot. Of course, she was still have trouble with partying, but she decided that as long as she wasn't getting herself arrested again, why shouldn't she go out and have fun? She had 'friends'--she didn't believe herself as not being capable of having friends because she's above everyone else, she just didn't think she made a very good ideal of a 'friend'. And she did have a lot of pride. But how could she not? I'm a fuckdamn model, she thought, pushing the sunglasses up her nose as she read the magazine in her lap.
Of course, little Water students had to ruin her day. She'd made sure that not a lot of people were nearby, but she got caught up in reading and didn't realize when they'd trounced into the picture, splashing around in the water. They must have been practicing something, because in the next second she was holding a soaked magazine and the second after her hand was around one of their throats. Knowing that Water students that looked like they were around her age would probably best her, she made a split second decision and grabbed one of their bookbags from the sandy bank, throwing it over her back and heading toward the grounds. One of them chased after her and she used her lighter so she could call up a rather large and draining wall of fire. "You're lucky I'm not going for the cliffs," she snapped, her ice blue eyes hard.
No, instead she headed toward the belltower, making her way up, barefoot and all. She didn't expect to be bumped into, but she swung around when she was, hefting up the backpack. "I swear by all that is holy, I will fuck your shit up," she said before listening to the next words and stepping back a bit. Her expression was unreadable most of the time, but the anger was fading a bit. If she's a Water, I'll kill her. "Yeah, Altair," she said. The older girl was lucky she was in a good mood because of the modeling contract, that her rage was something that had died a little after leaving the lake. She didn't accept the apology, not being one for pleasantries like that, and asked, "Should I know you? Because you obviously know me." It wasn't spoken as snidely as usual, but it was curt and clipped.
[Sorry this took so long!!! ><]

Skye didn't much like this girl, she decided, or at least she didn't like her attitude towards complete strangers. She was used to being around pretty hot-tempered people, actually -- being associated pretty commonly with Fire elementals, she was pretty used to the insanity that came with it. This, however, was some other rage that was pretty much off the charts, and it wasn't that Skye had never had anyone shouting at or threatening her, or that she'd never seen people going completely crazy, but she'd never seen it this unwarranted, and that made all the difference. Altair, she decided, if that really was the girl's name and this wasn't -- er, Rowena, she believed... well, whoever it was, the girl was crazy, and not in the amusing way. Well, okay, maybe a little amusing. She kept her face straight, not allowing herself to give away what might look like a smile or a laugh. Fire elementals. Raging, hormonal, teenage Fires who couldn't keep themselves in check for more than a few minutes at a time. Altair exemplified this.
She didn't respond to what Altair said first anyway, just nodded when she confirmed that Skye had been right, this was in fact who it was. She didn't seem as angry as she had before, either, which was Skye's first hint that maybe she'd thought Skye was someone else -- or maybe she was just hoping that Altair wasn't always this angry for no good reason. "No, I wouldn't expect you to," she answered blandly, still not sure she liked or trusted this girl much. She knew that there was, though, the underlying question of, How the fuck do you know me then, in that case? Maybe she should head it off first. "No, I've just seen you around. And I know your sister, a little, too." She knew of Rowena a little, at least, though she wouldn't say they were particularly well-acquainted -- it was more that she knew her as they had the same element. Skye wondered if Rowena would even be able to name her, either, but it didn't matter, because here she was talking to Altair, and she was being more than rude, if Skye allowed herself to judge. She didn't notice that the apology had gone unacknowledged, either, but in the few seconds she'd known Altair, this didn't surprise her much at all. She didn't try to say sorry again, instead saying, "Well, whoever you're so angry at, I doubt it's me, so." Or it shouldn't be her, anyway.

Altair lifted her eyebrows at the next words. The backpack was getting heavy, but she kept gripping it as she listened to the other girl. Rowena? "You a Thunder or something?" She knew her sister didn't have a wide circle of friends, and she guessed that it was the same for everyone in that element. She got along with the Thunders, and now she supposed it was a requirement. She was the leader of Fire, after all, and the element was their allies. It would have been rather difficult for her if Syria were alive. Would she be mad at her element for whatever they did against the Waters? She didn't like to think about the 'what ifs' regarding her sister. Everyone who knew her understood that she was destined for something grader than what she became. Altair had to wonder exactly what had been going on in that girl's life, but she figured that the three of them had too similar experiences thanks to the modeling world. A world she was stepping back into.
Her anger having quelled somewhat, she looked down at the backpack in her hand. "Fucking Waters," she said with a scowl. "Guess it's my fault for hanging around the lake." Not like they officially claimed that territory, but every element had their areas. The Earth's with the garden, the Thunders and Fires with the dungeons... She looked back at Skye and if she were a better person, she would have also apologized for being a bitch when she'd done nothing wrong at all. At least she was reasonable enough that she didn't stay mad at the girl. She didn't want a fight, and so far this Skye chick seemed chill enough. "What are you doing up here?" she questioned, sparing time for conversation because Altair could be like that. Last year conversation with her would have been a near impossible thing, but now, if one could move past the permanently sour demeanor, there was some chance that she might not be a complete dick.

Well, the other girl was intelligent at least... or maybe just logical. Thunders weren't notorious for being too social, she was aware, so it would have made sense that they'd mainly associate within their own element... thus making Skye's most likely element Thunder. It wasn't an incorrect guess, but Thunders and Fires did get along pretty well, also. She could think many Fires were annoying, irrational egomaniacs, but that wasn't going to change much about the alliances. Of course, she had her friends who were Fire, too, but Skye was neither a trusting nor a social person; good friends were few and far between. "That's right," she confessed with a nod anyway. She probably shouldn't get into all of that other nonsense anyway -- not only would it be incredibly random if Altair hadn't asked, which she hadn't, but it was generally discourged not to get along within the alliances. Skye wouldn't admit that she was about to let some high schoolers push her around, but really, doing otherwise would be more trouble than it was worth at this point, when she was a year and a half from leaving and being done with the Academy for good. It wasn't that she hadn't enjoyed her time at school, but the Academy had plenty of issues, and she doubted that she was going to miss them. "You're... Fire?" she asked, though she was pretty sure she already knew the answer, based on what she knew already and the girl's demeanour thus far.
Altair was, though, much more tolerable when she wasn't so needlessly angry, and Skye was glad that she seemed to have calmed down a bit. Being yelled at for no proper reason wasn't something she'd have chosen. "Ah," was all she said to show she understood, averting her eyes to the backpack now too. She'd assumed before that it was Altair's, but by the way she looked at and held it, this didn't seem to be the case. It had to be somebody else's. "What did they do?" she asked, resisting the urge to tack on a what did you do to the end of it. That just seemed rude, though she didn't doubt that Altair certainly had done something as well... but the Waters really were abnormally defensive of the lake, which Skye thought was pretty understandable. It was too bad the school didn't have an enormous field of lightning rods anywhere nearby or something. She would have gladly given up the dungeons for... well, many things, really, though water didn't turn her off as much as she expected it did for many Fires. (Apparently Altair wasn't one of said Fires, though, if she'd been hanging around the lake. Skye couldn't think of many Fire or Thunder elementals who would have chosen that.) "What were you doing by the lake?" Altair's question surprised her, too, and she frowned, looking upwards at all the steps still waiting. She couldn't even tell how far up she was. "Gave me something to do," she said finally, shrugging a little bit, realizing that she didn't have much of a solid reason for being here. "You?"

Altair figured the two wouldn't have any problems, considering Skye informed her of her element. Of course, her temper was something very easy to set off and she was unpredictable. She smirked when Skye asked after her own element. "Yeah. Fire leader." She liked that title, liked the recognition that it gave her. She had status, something she liked, even though she didn't need a title to feel confident in herself. She didn't rely on others for her own self-confidence because it was self confidence, not "whatever everyone else thinks about you" confidence. "Guess we don't have to go for each other's throats then." Her dry humor was a good sign. She couldn't deny that she'd rather not fight Skye, because she was decently sure the girl was older than her. Altair was up for a fight with anyone, but unless she was pissed, her common sense stabilized her. Some time ago, that would have been different. Dale could attest to that, since she continued to fuck with him even when she knew that he greatly outmatched her.
The Fire girl scratched at the side of her head, scowl claiming her lips. "Fucking soaked my magazine." It may have seemed trivial, but that Altair for you. "I hope they enjoy picking up their own reading material from the school grounds." Eye for an eye, right? Of course, she could have gone up to the cliffs, but it was still around water and there were still higher chances that she'd get into another confrontation with a Water student. Altair shrugged. "Eh, it's nice out. Don't have classes or anything right now." It was a good place to sit and relax, but it would have been even better if she just sat a little away from the water to protect her magazine. It wasn't even the magazine getting wet that really incensed her, it was being bothered in general. She was like an anti-social hamster.
She couldn't judge Skye for not having a real reason for coming here. Gotta find some ways to entertain yourself, that was for sure. Altair nodded her head further up the bell tower and said, "Come with me and find out." As always, her voice was pretty toneless. When she turned to head up the steps, she didn't really care if Skye followed, the invitation was just something to give them both to do. Once she reached the top, the open-air windows looking out upon the expansive lawn, she zipped open the backpack and dumped it all out. A few people loitering down below looked up and dodged out of the way of papers and folders, before Altair threw the bookbag itself out. "Welp, that business is done," she said flatly, raising an eyebrow at her work. "Not too entertaining here, I must say, unless you got a boyfriend or something." It was a nice view, sure, but other than that Altair always needed to be kept busy. "How's your element doing anyway?" she asked for sake of conversation. It may make sense that Skye wouldn't know considering they weren't the tightest group, but she wouldn't know until told.

So Altair was the Fire leader. This information was for the most part unsurprising too, but she was actualy mostly perplexed that she hadn't known this already. It was generally well-known who the leaders were, wasn't it? She realized she hadn't been paying much attentio this year, even though it was already June -- she considered that maybe she should get on that, but in the end, she didn't really care enough to. She hadn't even really been particularly active in the last war -- at this point, there was little anyone could do to persuade her that any of this alliance business was a good idea. There was also, she was sure, nothing good to come out of having these leaders around being in charge, so to speak, of the elements, probably especially when it came to Fires, because that meant there was much riding on the attitudes of a few choice people. She didn't say any of this aloud, though, just smirked a bit at Altair's joke (because she couldn't even deny how undoubtedly true it was for most people in opposite elements) and nodded. Altair the Fire leader, then. Skye wasn't sure how to feel about her.
"Ah," she answered to show she understood, nodding a bit. She wondered whether the Waters had done it on purpose, but didn't ask. That seemed a bit too... fair. Things were rarely fair when it came to the alliances and the way they felt about one another. "That's harsh," she commented lightly, though more in a frank way than a critical one -- hopefully even Altair couldn't take it to mean that dumping someone's things all over the grounds could be a bad idea. Skye was a little better at keeping things to herself than that. She could certainly understand the desire to take revenge on them, though -- Waters really could be pretty annoying at times, and she would have probably done... well, she couldn't say the same thing, because Skye rather prided herself on being a little better than that, to be honest, but maybe something similar. Especially if it were on purpose, but of course she didn't know if that were the case at all. She nodded at what Altair said next, though. "Well, right," she said. "I guess it'd be pretty nice to be out there... Too bad there's always Waters hanging around." She realized that it was only natural that Water elementals would be drawn toward the lake, but it did make it a bit difficult to really go out there. Skye liked water, even. It was just sad, really.
She hesitated for about a fraction of a second before following -- she'd been on the way up there anyway, she figured. Sure, she'd been planning on doing this alone, but really, the alternative was refusing and walking all the way back down the stairs without even seeing the top, so this was definitely much better. Skye just followed silently, not bothering with an answer seeing as Altair had already turned and started to continue her ascent. Fair enough. Skye wasn't much of a talker all of the time, either. She followed a few steps behind Altair, not saying anything and not hearing anything either, so the climb continued in silence. She reached the top and lingered, leaning against the doorway as she watched the younger girl dumpt he entire contents of the unknown Water's bag, out of the window. She walked over in time to see most of it hitting the ground, then watched the now empty bag fly down as well. Definitely harsh. "Nice," she said in a flat tone, not sounding sarcastic with her comment, but not really meaning it either. "You don't mess around when it comes to getting back at people, huh." She watched as the bag -- falling very slowly because it was empty and kept catching the breeze -- finally landed. People below were scattered now, too. "But no, it really isn't that exciting here. Probably a waste of a climb all the way up here..." She turned around to inspect the room they'd gotten to -- there was a door on the opposite side, and she was sure behind it there were more stairs heading up to the actual bell chamber, but they probably weren't allowed up there, so this boring place was really all there was. At least it was kind of quiet and peaceful -- except for the two of them, of course. "Hm? Oh, my element's doing fine," she said without really thinking about the answer -- she probably wouldn't have been able to come up with anything more legitimate, anyway. Altair wasn't wrong; they really were pretty detached. "Same as normal, I guess. How's yours?"

Altair smirked at the other girl's words. A part of her wondered if that comment would have set her off before, no matter how innocent. As bad as her temper was now, it was even worse before she got her shit together and came to figure that she should prioritize her own life. And that meant her sister, and her job, and her schoolwork. She was the eldest-by-two-seconds, after all. She needed to provide. "Life's harsh, you know the cliche." It was almost joking, though it took a little bit more to get Altair to joke with someone. But an actual joke came when she said, "Maybe we should get them a kiddie pool and some floaties, have them splash around in there." In her eyes, the Waters didn't deserve anything, but that was her predisposed hatred. Again, it was scary to wonder if it would have been the same were Syria alive. No, because that's what changed Altair. The emptiness still felt became her new being.
Altair's grin was wolfish. "Ah, but I'm not your kind, I don't think. You guys sure now to hold grudges." She went for immediate payback and she usually didn't care much in the long run. But she had to admire the fact that Thunders could remember a face and a name and the offense against them. They were like elephants, and she wondered if Rowena would appreciate that joke. She might have to tell her sometimes. Leaning against the window, she looked at Skye in consideration. "Nothing's exciting here, though, so I understand. Once you get past the fact it's a castle, there's not much else you can find." In her eyes there wasn't excitement unless someone was having a party or something. She didn't think hiking was too fun, it was just walking around, looking at trees and shit. There needed to be more, something she could spend her time on. Usually that meant booze, or drugs, or sex. But maybe she'd fallen into a rut without realizing it, because she could fool herself into thinking it was always exciting. She'd have to wonder about that another time.
She nodded, hands itching for a cigarette that she didn't have. "Well that's as much as I've heard. Haven't even met your leader yet." She didn't care about preventing wars in meeting with the other leaders. Should she? Well, if it was detrimental to her element, she would smooth the situation over. Wasn't that how politics worked? For the benefit of your people? She didn't study them, because this was a school, not the real world. Still, the alliances were treated as such, as if they really were nations, surrounded by oceans and guarded by customs at the borders. A little less friendly, considering once you go through, you don't come back. Altair sighed. "They're not staying out of trouble, I know that. But I guess that means they're the same as always, too Wars usually spice things up, but it's been rather calm as of late." She didn't much like that, but whatever. It was school and school was meant to be boring, she supposed.

Skye just nodded wordlessly, not one to go on about whatever harshness she may have experienced in her life, and certainly not the type to have the patience to listen to others talk about theirs. It didn't seem Altair would go on anyway, but she could never tell when it came to Fires. They were on the whole not as reserved as Thunders, who were never very forthcoming with information about themselves, but she didn't think there was much of a pattern with them. Some were quite private people, but then others yet were much more casual when it came to talking about themselves. No, as far as she knew they were different from Thunders in that respect -- there wasn't much of a standard. Skye, on the other hand, had the uncanny knack to occasionally make people think they understood her. Sometimes it came in handy. She was sure that she could count the people who even came close to fully understanding all on one hand. "A kiddie pool, eh?" She quirked an eyebrow. "Wouldn't think the Fire leader of all people would be willing to toss them as much as that." Skye wasn't really saying she agreed, but it was true -- Altair, like most Fire leaders, was clearly not fond of the Waters at all, and would probably not be all too willing to give them much if given the choice. (Of course, Skye remembered Josh being Fire leader, too... It seemed like quite a long time ago now.)
This much was definitely true, and Skye nodded her agreement. "That we do," she answered blandly, not sounding particularly threatening but still more serious, though she had the traces of a smirk on her lips. Whatever she thought about the chasms between the individual elements, she definitely belonged at least in personality with the Thunders. The way Altair said it, it didn't sound like a particularly bad thing, and Skye certainly wouldn't consider it negative either, but she knew that others would disagree, the same way people disagreed with dwelling in the past and holding grudges in general. Skye considered it, personally, more of a benefit -- it was best, especially around the Academy, not to be too trusting and forgiving of others. "Guess people had better not go around crossing us, then," she added mildly, looking down out of the window rather than at Altair. Fires were more... spontaneous. They were irrational, and hot-tempered, and it was easy to set them off, but when they did go off, it was mostly quick and... well, not painless, but at least the offender-turned-victim could count on it being over quickly. Thunders were far more vindictive than that. She looked back over at Altair once she noticed that she was being watched, and nodded. While Skye was sure she and the younger girl had very different ideas of exciting (she remembered being a teenager, too!), she had to agree that things had been very dull around here, especially as of late. Skye wouldn't complain about the dullness -- it was better than the otherwise endless supply of teenage drama -- but she did have to admit that it made life pretty flat and boring. "I guess castles are pretty cool. But you know. Who knows when shit is going to hit the fan around here anyway?" It made sense as a question, but didn't sound like one coming from Skye -- she wasn't really looking for an answer.
"Much as I've heard too, don't take it personally," she answered frankly. She wasn't particularly well-connected to many people, actually -- a select few, and not more than that, at least not on a personal level. She could say, though, that at least she was acquainted with many, especially Thunders, even if she wouldn't even consider all of them friends of any sort. "You know how it is." She might, but Skye probably knew it better. There was nothing like being on the inside when it came to Thunders, typically because with a few exceptions they were far more introverted than the aggressive Fires or the obnoxious Waters. Skye did listen with interest, just a little, to Altair talking about the Fires, at least until she realized that it was basically the same as usual. She'd never known Fires to stay out of trouble, especially not as teenagers. "Nothing to worry about if it's the same as usual, I guess," she said, deciding that this was better than saying something about how Fires were troublemakers, even though Altair had kind of already said the same thing first. "But yeah -- a bit peaceful, I guess." Not that she was an Earth... or, sorry, not that she was much of a pacifist at all. It was more along the lines of thinking that wars were for the most part unnecessary and started over stupid things.

Altair snorted at the older girl's words, wishing there was a cigarette between her fingers. But she only had the bright sun outside of the clock tower and company. Not enough to hold over her yearning for nicotine. "They're everywhere," she said about the Watersi. With a smirk, she added, "I wonder if it would ever come to the point where we actually delineate borders and enforce them. Like playing Risk or something." It wasn't so far-fetched considering the Academy now. The borders were just silently acknowledged, not ever spoken of or written down. People just followed them because it was convention, and if they didn't, they risked being attacked. Or sabotage. Anything, really. It was a surprise wars didn't start more often. They may have been united by a school, but they were divided among their peers. "Usually the little things start it up. Last war was over a Fire and Water relationship, remember that?" She snorted as if she couldn't believe it.
Her expressions, no matter how friendly, looked like they always covered up some kind of deceit or malicious intent. Her smirk was almost vicious. "I'll try not to," she said. Her flame could putter out as quickly as it grew. If she didn't have any irritants around her, she would do just fine. "I almost wish there was something to worry about," she said, leaning a hand against the window, stone hot under her fingers from the sun. She squinted her eyes. She needed something now, she was always looking for something. Another party, another event, anything to make everything better. At least she found modeling again, and she would keep it. No more fuck ups, no more falls. She was confident, and once she put her mind to something, she would never stop.
She took a few steps forward, running pointed fingers through her curled hair. White as a swan's down. She was proud of it, and also sure that it helped in getting her contract. She was beautiful, thank you very much. Everything she got was deserved. "Well, it was nice meeting you, Skye," she said, voice dull as a rusted blade. But there was honesty there. She was good at that. "I'd like to see you around sometime." The girl calmed her temper quite a bit, which was quite a feat. Round of applause for that stunt, even though it was unintentional. She was sure Skye didn't care. The Thunder was intriguing though. Altair didn't think too much on it, didn't think on much of anything. She simply walked down the stairs and got back to business.

Waters certainly were everywhere. That was something that Skye had to agree with. She was sure they were no more plentiful than any of the other elements, but possibly because of their personalities, it didn't seem that way at all. She knew none of them by name, but quite a number by face, and they certainly weren't difficult to pick out in a crowd. After all, they tended to keep to their own elements and Earths, for the most part, and Earths were almost always the more quiet ones. Waters tended to be the ones laughing too loud, or playing stupid jokes, and that was probably why there seemed to be such vsat amounts of them, even though Skye was sure there were roughly equal numbers. "True enough. Can't seem to get shake them off." That much was true, too. Skye wasn't nearly as opposed to the "other side" as many people seemed to be, but she wasn't particularly fond of all of them either, especially the particularly loud and obnoxious ones. There was something about the overall happiness and carefree attitude that grated on her nerves. "Doesn't seem like it'd come to that anytime soon, but I guess it's hard to tell around here anyway. I think that's kind of your thing to figure out as Leader though, unfortunately." She wasn't sure how much Altair liked the actual work part of being Leader, but Skye was pretty sure she wouldn't have enjoyed it. "Right. Something like that," she confirmed that she knew what Altair was talking about with a nod, but said nothing otherwise. She was pretty sure these wars were a waste of time that could be better spent doing something, anything else, but that was dangerous talk around anyone's Leader.
She just gazed back squarely at Altair even as the other girl smirked. There was always something off about that smirk, Skye noted, like she was just waiting for something to pounce at and attack and and get angry about, as if she enjoyed doing that. Maybe she did. Skye didn't pretend to know and understand the girl, at least not yet, though she was pretty sure she'd formed a very solid first impression, if nothing else. The only thing she hadn't yet sorted out was exactly how she felt about Altair and the way she was, but of course she wasn't going to say anything about that. "Probably for the best," she replied, the same way someone would say that the weather was mild, or their day had been very boring, or something to that effect. Nothing dramatic. She wasn't a Fire, after all. "Mm, but worrying is generally something not to look forward to. But I guess I understand what you mean." She did, and she understood it all too well, but there was certainly a difference between understanding and agreeing. She seemed to have that exact thought pretty often during this conversation with Altair -- that probably didn't mean anything good, but it wasn't important enough to get into a fight over. She was above that. Regardless, she was a little relieved when Altair looked about to leave. There was little for the two of them to talk about, and really Skye had come up here with the intention of doing homework -- no, this room wasn't very exciting, but it would probably do just fine for these purposes, unless the bell suddenly started ringing like mad or something. That didn't seem likely. "Nice meeting you too," she reciprocated with a nod, but she didn't miss the tone of Altair's voice -- not particularly enthusiastic, but it seemed genuine enough, and Skye prided herself on being pretty decent at reading people. "See you. Try to keep your element out of trouble," she added as a passing remark, very casually, even as Altair was already leaving.
It would be time to get cracking on that homework now, she thought, watching the younger girl walking off down the stairs.
