"Freakin' A! I almost had em!" Jamming his phone in his pocket, the sophomore folded his arms together in a childish pout. He almost had it; the boy was so close. If only he had enough hp to beat the final boss. The boy was playing a fighting game app on his phone. He's been working at it for...(he checked his watch to reveal 2:30 in bright, neon green lights)...an hour. An hour's worth of advancement lost all because he didn't move his fingers fast enough for the combo attack. "Just my luck..."
He sighed and looked at his surroundings. Currently, he's looking at the lake. The people he sees there look like bugs. He squinted his eyes and pretended to squish them with his index finger and thumb. "Muahaha. Feel the wrath of the Ultimate Almighty Bass", he mumbled to himself. He stopped his humor to really look at everyone. The kids there seemed like they were having fun. From what he guessed, most of them are Water, and the others were Earth. The Water kids were gathering the water from the lake and splashing in on the Earth kids, and to retaliate, the earth kids used the grass to trip them up. "Noobs," the boy muttered under his breathe and turned away from the view.
He felt animosity towards them, and he wondered why. Was he jealous? Pfft, no. I'm not jealous. But the boy was kidding himself; he totally was jealous. Jealous of the fact that the kids below him made friends easier than him. Why was that? He...tried to talk to people, but he's so socially awkward, he would either shy away or not know what to respond properly.
Well...it's not like I have friends. I have friends. They're just...online. He needed to reassure himself so he wouldn't feel like a pathetic noob. He stood up sharply with determination. "I, Sebastian Thomas Freeman, will talk and or be friendly with the next person I come into contact with." He nodded in agreement with himself and plopped back down on the soft grass, pulled out his cell, and began his trek towards the boss level of the game.

 Altair hated school. Maybe not as much as Rowena, but it definitely was not something she approached every day with vim and vigor. She took it as a time to nap, thanks to work keeping her up so late. In the end, it would prove detrimental to her, since she really wanted to better her powers so she could torch the place. She was sure her younger sister would enjoy that, too, though the youngest may have some qualms. Or not. She wasn’t too keen on the fact that they were placed in the tenth grade, as the triplets made this fact very vocal. Altair wouldn’t mind so much if it hadn’t given people reason to approach her and act high-and-mighty when she was better than them by far. Usually, she stayed after school because of detentions, but she managed not to get herself into trouble that day.
Probably because the Vicodin was working its magic in dulling her hatred toward everything and her usual snappiness. But now, as she made her way across the Academy grounds, not sparing a glance toward anyone who may have been lingering, she felt the drain as the meds lost their kick. Which meant that she was especially aggressive and irritable. As if she wasn’t already on a daily basis, but when she felt the exhaustion of the letdown, it left her itching to start a fight to make her feel better. Because the drugs only worked for a short amount of time. For Altair, it was always living in the moment, taking things at face value, and not giving a fuck about her future. She just needed that momentary high to make her happy for a bit, and when she came tumbling down she had to face the reality that the only thing she had left was her constant state of anger.
And as she climbed up the cliffs, she was hoping that smoking would at least calm her nerves a bit. She wasn’t as dependent on them as Rowena, but she couldn’t deny an addiction. Unfortunately, she came upon a guy who should not have been there when she was in such a bad mood. And he was talking to himself. Great, there had to be a freak up here when all she wanted to do was smoke the rest of her fags. ”If you plan to keep on talking, I suggest throwing yourself in the lake before I take the initiative and kick you in.” Hopefully that made it clear that she’d rather be alone than have to deal with whatever this kid was prattling on about. She took out her smokes and lit up, not waiting to hear a response from him.

Almost there. He almost got to the same level he was before he died. A sudden voice nearly made him jump up, and miss his next chance at beating the same dude. "Oh, I give up damnit." He stood up and looked at the person who interrupted him. It happened to be a chick, an attractive chick at that. But he wasn't interested in her, only in the reason why she's being so mean.
"Hey, what's your problem? I almost won this round." He looked at her as if she were crazy. She looked like she was having a bad day. Well, she should go bring her bad and matching attitude somewhere else. She probably came up here to be alone, but too bad for her.
"Really now?" He looked her up and down with hostility. "I seriously doubt you can do that. What are you, like. 100lbs? I have height and weight over you, so you can kick all you want, but I probably won't budge." There. Now he felt better. If she wanted to stay here, she'll have to shut up so he can concentrate. Going back to his game, he asked her "Who peed in your cornflakes anyway?" It was an honest question, but he doubted she'd answer with sincerity.
But what happened to him being nice and friendly towards the next person he comes into contact with? Well, this chick is being difficult so far. But, I guess I'll try a little harder With a calmer tone, he said, "Hey, I can see you're having a bad day, so I guess I can forgive your hostility, for now" There. Niceness. Now let's see what she'll do with it.

Altair looked over at the kid, her face a mixture of confusion, disinterest, and arrogance. ”What the fuck are you talking about?” she said, though she didn’t actually care. All she cared about was herself, and not other people’s problems or the fact that she may have been intruding or something. She just didn’t fucking care about anyone else. Well, except for her sisters, but that was different and that was something Altair wouldn’t admit out loud because she knew the girls were her greatest weakness.
Altair sneered at him when he started to inspect her like she was some sort of thing on display for him. Shoving the lighter in her pocket, she grabbed him by the collar, and said, ”You wanna fucking try me?” She hated when people underestimated her. Yeah, she was skinny thanks to her modeling years and the fact that she had to keep her weight down for stripping (who wanted to throw their money at a fatass?), but she was probably physically stronger than her other sisters. And she knew how to fight and scrap. She wasn’t a little pussy, not like this kid. Did he know who he was fucking with? He looked like he had to what…ten? Letting go of his collar, she looked at him from the corner of her eye. ”Are you fucking mental?” she asked, disbelief lacing her tone and her sneering features. Who pissed in her cornflakes? Life, god, everything. But who in the hell used that expression?
Her confusion only grew with his next words. He was going to forgive her? She didn’t need forgiven, because she had done nothing wrong. ”How about this? You managed to piss me off even more than I was already, so I’ll give you one minute to get the fuck away from me before I kick you in your balls. If you have any, that is.” This was Altair actually being nice. She was giving warning before launching her assault. In her mind, this kid should have been grateful enough that he’d listen to whatever she had to say.

He looked at the girl like she was crazy. He dug the phone out of his pocket and flashed it to her. "This is the fuck I'm talking about. You've made me lose. Thanks a lot." He scowled at her while shoving his phone back into his pocket. The nerve of that chick to think he's crazy or whatever. Maybe he is, but she's the one to talk. She came here all pissed off and whatnot and started crap with him. Well, two can play at that game.
He only smirked while she grabbed him by the collar, and dismissed her threat easily. "Listen here little girl. I'm not looking for a fight, especially with a chick. So you can go ahead and run along and go ruin someone else's day." He can see he hit and nerve, and he smiled at that. Apparently she didn't like to be underestimated. Well, he can relate to that. Many people don't take the kid seriously, and he doesn't blame them. He can be a joker at times, but when he's serious, no one takes him seriously. It really did get on his nerves, but it's whatever. Right now, he's trying to decide to take this girl serious or not. He just might chose the latter.
"A little," he answered to her question. It was probably rhetorical, but he answered anyway. He had nothing to hide. He probably wasn't really mental, but who knew. "Apparently you can relate huh?" He said with a smirk. He's having too much fun with this.
He patiently stood there listening to the girl before him. She's started to aggravate him now. She comes here, and starts bossing him around? I don't think so...
"Look here, you're the one who came here. I was here first. If anyone has to leave, it best be you. So you can take you and your little shitty attitude and go fuck off somewhere else." If she thought he was going to take threats from a girl like her, she had another thing coming. And she didn't know that the boy was immune to threats, thanks to his father.

The kid showed his phone to her, and she rolled her eyes. ”Whatever,” she said disinterestedly, taking the fag from her mouth to flick ash to the ground, watching it smolder into the dirt. It was much more entertaining than this kid, anyway. ”You’re fucking welcome,” she shot back when she looked up and noticed him scowling at her. This little brat thought he could look down at her? Who the fuck did he think he was? Altair couldn’t give less of a damn that she made him lose, as a matter of fact, she was pretty damn happy she did. If he was so goddamn butthurt about losing a game, he really needed to get a life instead of bitching at her for it.
She found it oh so fucking cute when the kid tried to talk down to her. ”If you’re afraid to fight a chick, that just makes you a little pussy,” she said coolly, sneering at him. She knew quite a few chicks who could fuck him up. She especially hated it when females were looked down upon in terms of fighting. She wasn’t a little Barbie doll, in spite of how she carried herself and the clothes she wore. She wasn’t a precious little girl with bows in her hair and baby blue eyes. She was a whore, a gangbanger, a drug addict, everything that could be wrong with a person. And she could stomp him out like one of her flames. ”Ruin your day? You haven’t seen the worst of me, hun.” And that was true. This was Altair being the calm before the storm. She was not as angry as she could get yet.
But his next comment made her eyes narrow as she blew out snoke from her nose. ”I guess bloody so,” she said iciliy, her accent thick around her cigarette. This little git was about to get a beatdown if he kept talking and acting high-and-mighty. He was nothing, just a little prat. He was barely even worth her time, but of course Altair refused to step down now. When a fight started, she carried it out to the end, even when it was a verbal confrontation like this.
He sounded like a five-year-old with his argument of ‘I was here first’. And he didn’t seem to be younger than her, though she couldn’t really tell. She was just making assumptions like she always did, judging people by their cover like everyone was taught not to. But she found that her first instincts were usually right. She shot him a small smile as he finished on his little spiel, and took out her cigarette. It looked like she just might listen to him and walk away. But then she took the fag and then grabbed hold of his arm and pressed it against his skin, a vicious glint in her eyes. ”You don’t fuck with me, you little bitch,” she said as she removed the cigarette from his arm and put it back between her lips. It was still lit thanks to her influence, and if this kid stuck around, he’d see what she was really capable of.

He shrugged at her whatever comment. Not everyone was a gamer, he could respect that. Girls especially. He tried to get Lily to play with him, but that was a lost cause. She was too busy with her make-up and other girly things that made the younger brother shudder. It was too bad he didn't know that many girls who love games. Gamer chicks are a turn on. He gave her a short smile then rolled his eyes at her and looked at the lake. A quick thought of pushing her into the lake crossed his mind, but as quick as it came, it left. His father made a similar threat to Lily as she tried to stick up for their mother, and he didn't like that at all. He felt bad for a moment for thinking that about her, but the feeling vanished too as she said her next comment.
He shrugged at it nonchalantly. She could think whatever she wanted to. He wouldn't put his hands on a woman at any circumstance. "That, or a respecter of women. Either way, I won't fight you. No matter how much of a bitch you are." But he just might make an exception just for her if she kept pushing her luck.
"Whatever," was all he said. The girl just wanted to show off how much balls she had. No matter what she says, he'll still think of her as little girl with a lot of bark. But he did wonder, she could have left if she wanted to. A part of her wanted to stay here and bark it out with him. Well, fine by him. He had nothing better to do. He figures he'll humor her and talk smack back. He did online and he was even better in real life.
He crossed his arms and looked down at her with amusement as she burned him with her cigarette. Flinching once the stick made contact with his skin, he said "Cigarette burn, really?" Pfft. He was used to that crap at home. His latest one was just below his left pec. The healing process was slow, but it was almost better. This is one of the many consequences he gets for sticking up for the women in his house. His father talked a lot of threats like this chick, but he never did lay his hands on him. He wondered why all the time. But he knew that if he did, it would be over. All that anger of past abuse would come rushing in, and the result might have been fatal for one of them. All those thoughts came to stop when she put the cancer stick against her lips.
Leaning down on her with an awful glare, he snatched the cigarette out of her mouth and threw it towards the ground without taking his eyes off of her. "Like I said, walk away. You don't want to get me angry." Despite this current feeling of growing anger, he said this calm and coolly to let this bitch know that he was serious and not to tick him off. Yes, he can be a clown at times...well at almost all times. But when he's serious, he's fucking serious. He's never hit a girl in his life, but this slut is really pushing it. Who knows, he didn't want to snap, but she was damn near pushing him. He knew the better thing was to just walk away and letter the heifer stay here, but no. The stubbornness in him made him stand his ground. No fucking girl is going to make him walk away. Hell no.

She smirked as the kid spoke. ”Respecter of women?” Altair stepped up even closer to him, tilting her head to the side. ”Respect to me would be taking me on just like you would a man, even though I have a couple of tits.” Her expression was straightforward and icy. She absolutely loated when she was not taken seriously because she was a female. She could fight just like a man, and she could fuck better than most of them. So why would it be respectful to not fight her when she wanted it just because she was a woman? That was disrespect, if anything.
Sure, Altair talked big but she also had every intention of backing it up. She liked to bark, but her bite was just as vicious. She wasn’t a pussy like this guy, apparently. Even though his reaction to her burning was slight. Cigarette burns hurt, she knew that from experience. Not that she’d intentionally had it done, but it had happened to her before. It was probably one of the most uncomfortable sensations one could feel, but as a Fire elemental she could also use it to her advantage. She realized she was not aware of his element, but also knew that she couldn’t care less. ”Keep talking, and it’ll be more than just a cigarette burn.” It’ll be an attack with her powers full-force. That, or she’d go straight to fisticuffs. She really hadn’t decided yet, but she did know she wanted a fight.
Altair quite literally growled when he took the cigarette from her mouth and tossed it away. Damn stupid bastard, who the fuck did he think he was? ”Don’t want to get you angry?” she said, her voice low and dangerous. She wasn’t going to play around anymore. It wasn’t hard to piss her off, but he’d gotten it done and now all she wanted was to claw his throat out. ”I think you’ve got it wrong. You really don’t want to get me angry.” Her smirk transformed into a full blow sneer before she voiced her next words: ”But it’s a little too late for that.” Without any preemptive notice, she wound back her arm and clocked him straight in the nose. Stepping back and taking out her lighter, the flame whipping out of it as if to show just how ready for a fight she was.

He nodded at her comment. Yeah, it made since. That would be respectful of women, but he guessed he had a different respect for them than she thought. "You're right. But...I don't like seeing women getting hurt." It would almost make him go crazy. Years of seeing his mom suffer and him not being able to do anything about it could do that to a kid. The reason she stayed was because of them. She claimed that he was the bread winner of the family, since she had to stay home and take care of the kids, but that wasn't a good enough excuse for him. She bore too many scars from the man she once loved, and Bass vowed that he would never lay a hand on any female: no matter how pushy they may be, like this chick here.
But he did want to fight her. Every fiber of his being was itching to lay a nice one right across her pretty little face. The cigarette burn was an incentive to do it right then and there, but he fought back the urge. Sure, he might look like a pussy to her; he knew guys who wouldn't take that shit and clock her on the head, but he wasn't like that. He wouldn't let anything like that bother him. He looked down at his arm as she voiced her threat once again, and shook his head. She doesn't know what she getting herself into...
He narrowed his eyes at her once her voice got catty. He sighed aloud. He really is getting tired of this girl and her threats. Why doesn't she get on with them already then? Almost as if she read his mind, she gave him a nice one straight in the nose, which caused him to stumble backwards, but he kept his balance. He checked to see if it was bleeding, and it wasn't. When he looked back up he saw a flame emerge from her lighter. That caused him to smile as an idea grew in his head. He didn't have to physically hurt her. He could just use water to do so. With a clever and a rather to happy voice he said, "Okay, you want a fight. You got one." Looking over at the lake from the cliff, he concentrated and gathered some of the water from it and formed it into his hands. The water formed into the size of a basketball while he moved his hands to keep it in form. Hopefully he didn't have to hurt her too badly, because he'd feel really bad afterwards. He looked at her with ready eyes urging her to make the next move.

She scoffed at his words. ”Women get hurt all the time,” she said. ”And so do men. It’s how the world works.” Everything was built on violence, how she saw it. Women got hurt all the time, sure. She’d seen it over and over in her life. Working in her profession, it wasn’t like the women she saw some nights on the streets disappeared later to never be seen again. And it wasn’t like she didn’t know what those men in suits did to women when they took a whore into a back alley when they didn’t have money they owed. And it wasn’t like she was ever a sheltered little girl. Maybe a long time ago, when she and her sisters lived the perfect life, but her teenage years had been filled with pain only drugs could fix.
But she wasn’t about to debate philosophy with him, or talk about how much she actually knew about this world. She watched as he was knocked backwards by his fist. When he looked at her lighter, it seemed he’d formed an idea, and he drew water down from below the cliffs into his hand and she narrowed her eyes. A Water element. Lovely. He had the advantage here when it came to elements. ”Still being a pussy and using your element to go fisticuffs?” she mocked. She knew how disadvantagous this was, especially since she was better at close distance. And she was on the level of a tenth grader, so it wasn’t like she could evaporate his water or anything. But she could get him to lose focus. Drawing water from that far below would have did a bit of drain on him, and usually she wasn’t the best strategist, but when she wasn’t totally enraged, she was quick on her feet. Flicking her lighter up, she whipped up a flame to head straight toward him. But that was just a feint for the one that was coming up from behind, also branching from her lighter. There was no way he could evade two from different directions, even if he used his powers.

Bass nodded solemnly to her statement. It was very true; the boy had a taste of that truth throughout his life. Maybe it was even a little too much for a boy his age to endure. So he knew first hand how women get hurt. Yes, men do too, but they have strength while the females didn't.
"I know," regarding her comment. "but if I can help it, it won't happen." Well, in most cases that is. In about 99.9% percent cases to make it even more clearer. This case right now happens to be the .1% of the rarity that he'll get to hurt a woman. Luckily for him, and her, he's not going to directly hurt her. And plus, he doesn't even consider her a woman anyway, by the way she portrays herself.
His shrug was his only reply with her comment. If choosing not to fight her with his bare fists was considered being a pussy, then so be it. He made a promise to his mom and sister that he'd never lay hands on a female. Well, for this chick, anyone with female parts.
She sent two flames his way with the lighter: one headed straight towards his front, the other towards his back. He can evade only one of them, but which one? He had to choose, and he had to choose now, for he might just get hit with both of them. He decided to dodge the flame behind him and use a portion of his water as a shield. He fell backwards from the force, and got a mark on his bare arm from the fire that started to sting like a bitch. He got up and took out another portion of his water and aimed it at her chest. This also could not be avoided.

Altair rolled her eyes, shook her head. This kid. Really. He thought he could change things? Well, whatever. She wasn’t going to go philosophical on his ass—just midieval. So she really didn’t care about his views or any of that esoteric shit. Just as long as he brought his all against her. Because of his whole creed about hurting women, she could bet that he wouldn’t go fisticuffs against her. Which ticked her off even more than she always was. Did the guys who had this whole ‘protecting women from violence’ mentality think they were doing something honorable? A justice? It was just proving that their mind was stuck in the 50’s where women were viewed as delicate things that needed to be kept in the kitchen. She was in no way delicate or weak, and she refused to be treated as such.
She didn’t even wear a successful grin when one of her flames knocked him off his feet—she was in no way happy right now. If she was just toying with some Earth bitch, then she would probably laugh at them, but this guy managed to work her up. No, not managed. Getting her riled up was not something to brag about since anyone could do it. And with Bass, she would very much like to push him off the cliffs. Maybe she could somehow push him toward the edge. That would mean strategy, and it also meant she couldn’t let herself be blinded by her rage as she usually was.
Altair knew she couldn’t dodge the water and she wan’t able to turn it to steam with her powers—that was higher level stuff. Dammit, I’ll have to just take this. She braced herself for impact, but felt the drain. Elemental rock paper scissors was kicking her ass, but she wasn’t going to go down easily. She knew that he was probably near her level in terms of elemental strength, but that didn’t deter her from action. If she tried, could she take him down with her bare hands? She was a fighter, but if this guy had any training then that would definitely help. Whatever. Remembering the strategy she thought up earlier, the wild sheet of flame she sent toward him was aimed for the cliffs. It may not push him off, but it would get him closer, and that’s all she needed.

He only shrugged at her eye-roll. If she didn't believe that he was serious, then oh well. It didn't matter what she thought. Hell, she could tell the entire school how he feels about this, but it still wouldn't change his mind. He figured she probably thought that he thought that she couldn't handle herself because she's a chick. On the contrary, he believed she could probably kick his ass if he let her, he just had the problem of hitting and or attacking girls.
He had to commend her for not smiling up at him, showing him that she thinks she's boss or whatever, because that would have really gotten him off. That was just one hit, and she was all happy about that, then he just felt sorry for the girl. He felt an odd breeze and looked down to see a hole in his shirt. Narrowing his eyes, and mumbled a curse word and glared at the girl in front of him.
Still keeping the water ball in his hands, he barely dodged the next attack coming from the she-devil, and almost lost his balance off the cliff. Looking behind him, he raised an eyebrow, then looked back at her. Ah, so that was her tactic? Tsk tsk. He swiftly moved away from the cliff and shot out another portion of his water at her. Apparently she was trying to seriously injure him by knocking him off the cliff or whatever, while he's just messing around the whole time.
Must have really irked her nerves then...good.

Altair simply tilted her head at his glare, as if not understand why he would do that. She was pissed, but not pissed enough to completely erase the sarcasm. She was a sardonic and cynical person, and that just didn’t go away. However, she wasn’t quick enough to evade or do anything about his next attack, and she gasped as the water hit her chest, shivering with the afftereffects. She always had to compare the Fire students to cats and their dislike of water.
She was already forming another whip of a flame, when her phone rang. Usually, she would have ignored it, but she had ringtones set for different people. And that was Syria’s ringtone. ”Consider yourself bloody lucky,” she snapped, dispelling the flame and taking out her phone. If he tried to attack her as she walked away, that would make for serious retaliation. Before answering, she made sure to add, ”And don’t think this is over.” It surely wasn’t. She may have had to walk away now, which was a very good thing for him—she had a tendency to go over the line, and nothing other than her sister needing her would have stopped her from going completely apeshit. And she didn’t think she was backing down or anything like that, not when she’d be back to finish him off later.
