Sitting class was something that she found to be like a challenge of its very own. Her attention tried focus onto the teacher so that she could catch every word that they were saying. Asha typically wouldn't have been pegged as someone that fell in the category of teacher's pet. Her intentness was only caused because of the constant competition she had with her brother, Ace. Naturally she slacked when it came to most things. She wasn't a lethargic person but accomplishment wasn't something that she aimed for. Competition meant that she throw herself out of character for the sake of being able to hold a victory over her brother's head. What drove to try and be even more attentive was that Ace happened to be in a majority of her classes. Constantly it felt like she was being compared to him, driving her to find some reason to outshine him with her own intelligence and wit. Ace gave her a reason to actually apply the smarts that she would have let go to waste if she hadn't been graced with a twin. Should she be thankful that Ace actually gave her an unwanted desire to actually achieve academic greatness? No, she would have much rather preferred to become lazy and allow all of her potential waste away.
Indirectly he was the whole reason that her problems had stemmed with the water kids in class. If he hadn't made her so focused in class then Asha would have turned around to snap thoughtlessly at the gaggle of water students who had been rudely giggling behind her. She had been attempting to strain her ear to the teacher to take in all of the words that she had been saying, it wasn't helpful that her voice was raspy and she faded in and out with the volume of her voice. Asha had tried to tell her to speak up but she had scolded her for interrupting her during a critical point in the lesson. So she had been left pooling over her desk while she tried her hardest to catch every word of the complex topic that she had been drowning on about. While she was becoming frustration over her lack comprehension some water students were being more open about their carelessness towards the lesson. Irritation set in quickly, especially with the water girls placed directly behind her. It was like they were in middle school again, closely huddled together and getting excitedly worked up over something ridiculous. Three times Asha turned back to hiss at them to be quiet.
Her temper was lost with the water girls when one one the girls had the audacity to crumple a piece of paper and aim it at the back of her head. She swept down and picked up the wad of paper from the floor. It was kept in her grasp until it was reduced to nothing more than ash in her her palm. When the eyes of the teachers were diverted from the class Asha swiftly lifted herself out of her chair and turned to fact the girls. With a malice laced smile on her face she held her hand over their head and sprinkled the ashes directly onto her their faces. A shrill scream came from one of the girls but Asha had dropped back into her seat before the teacher had wheeled around. The teacher gave her an accusatory glare but she was scribbling furiously at a page and seemingly consumed with whatever she was jotting down. The girls behind her continued to glare while Asha did her best to conceal a blooming smile on her face. It was satisfying for Asha when havoc was created and she was able to slide away without any consequences. Her act that she pulled was enough to cause the two girls to fall into a huffy quietness. She was left to listen to the rest of the lesson in a silence that she appreciated.
Class came to an end more quickly then she had expected. Ace rushed out off the room, giving Asha a devious glare and grabbing at a girl. She gave her brother an eye roll, feeling suddenly irritated with the showy display that Ace was putting on. She busied herself with standing up and herding all of her belongings into her bag, losing her awareness on the people hurrying out of the classroom around her. The teacher had even made an exit out of the classroom before Asha lifted her bag off of the desk and turned to make her way towards the door. A forceful shove from behind her was something that she hadn't been anticipating. Her footing was lost and she stumbled a few feet before being able to steady herself. A cry almost came from her when a blast of water assaulted her from her side. Asha felt her muscles instantly freeze and there was no way that she retort. One of the two grabbed at her arms and directed her into the corner. Nestled in the corner of the room another jet of water was aimed at her face. Having the water smash against her face and overtake her lungs brutally reminded her of the lake, causing her to feel like was drowning all of again. She couldn't even throw her hands up in front of her face as a form of defense. They were going to drown her. Hell, a lake wasn't even needed this time.

Ashton yawned as he packed up his things, relieved that class was letting out at last. It had been a long and strenuous day thus far, and he was looking forward to the break he had between classes. He left with a couple of his friends, joking and laughing, smiling with genuine relief as his stress level was greatly reduced. Unfortunately their next classes branched off into different things, so while Ashton was free to do as he pleased for a little while, his classmates had to trudge off to their next period. "Sorry guys," he said genuinely, really trying to hold in his own excitement to spare them the jealousy. It wasn't fair to skip around and flaunt his freedom--Ash had never been fond of rubbing things in peoples faces like that, especially not when they were friends of his. "See you at dinner?" They agreed to meet up then, and thus he was free to walk around the halls as he wished. It was a bright day in May, and the sun shone through the windows as he passed, the grounds calling to him with the air of temptation. Should he go? Ashton paused and debated for a moment, jade eyes scanning the grounds with indecision dancing in their depths. It was a nice day, but he had homework. Screw homework. It was an impulsive decision, but it was his decision. He wasn't going to waste away in the dormitories trying to understand elemental history when he could be out there and enjoying the coming of summer. One might have pegged the Earth leader as a goody-goody and a teachers pet, but he could actually be found slacking a lot on nice days like this one. The pull of nature was a bit too much to resist. Besides, who liked homework anyway?
The abrupt decision changed on a dime when he turned down a certain hallway. The same green eyes that had fondly surveyed the grounds of the Academy turned cold as they narrowed, glaring down to the other end of the hall. His eyes were on two Water elementals who seemed to be antagonising a friend of his--Asha Woods. Their friendship may not have made sense, but it didn't matter to him. What mattered was the fact that even as he watched, one of the girls was drenching her in water that was likely ice cold. He remembered Asha's extreme hydrophobia and it sparked something inside of his chest, a need to protect. He knew Asha could take care of herself, but this was different. This was... well, they were Water elementals, that was all that needed to be said. Fire already had the weakness, and the fact that she was afraid of the element which they manipulated just stood to make it work. Within moments he was half-jogging down the hall, readying his powers as he got closer. He didn't really have a plan, but he spoke up as he came to a stop. "Hey! What the heck are you doing?" One of the culprits turned toward him, smirking a bit as they spotted him. "Oh hey, Ashton. We're just showing some Fire bitch who's boss around here."
There was the sound of shattering glass from the classroom as some of the vines that grew up the Academy wall answered the call of his anger. They snaked outside the room and rounded the corner, rearing up like snakes ready to strike. The girls looked confused by his sudden antagonistic actions--they, like the rest of the school, probably saw him as an all-around pacifist. "She-" one started in her defence. "I don't give a damn what she did," he snapped, "you're not playing fair, so I won't either." The group of vines split off--one half of the tendrils snaked around a girl's leg and pulled her to the ground, the other one growing thorns and firing them at the second like some sort of a pistol. She shrieked as the sharp thorns pierced her skin, and at the moment Ashton didn't even care that he might be overdoing it. He didn't want to see Asha as scared as she'd been when she'd almost drowned ever again. He'd already seen it twice, and the third time would certainly not be the charm. Having done their work of tripping the first girl, the other group of vines retracted and joined their brothers. The girls backed off pretty quickly as the vines sprouted another mass of thorns and fired, one of the tendrils lashing back and forth like a whip. It was his anger controlling it, and it was definitely draining him, but Ashton just wanted to make sure she was okay. It wasn't until the girls backed off that he turned to her.
"That's the third time I've come to the rescue," he said, giving her a weak sort of smile. The worry and concern was evident in his features. "Did they do anything else besides give you a soaking? Am I going to have to chase them down and strangle them, too?" He said it lightly as if to joke, but he really would go after them and deal another punishment if they'd seriously hurt Asha. He knew that the Fire elemental could be a massive bitch, but he didn't really think she'd provoke the Water chicks in a serious way. After all, she was afraid of water, wasn't she?

Imagine that things that Asha could have done to them if they hadn't pick jets of water as their form of retaliation. If fists had been thrown her way then Asha would of had both of the girls writhing on their backs in maybe a minute at most. Everyone knew that she had achieved her Fighter Girl status and that fighting was something she took too much pleasure in. With that said many people didn't bother thinking that they would be able to accomplish a victory when it came to a physical tussle with Asha Woods. So they had turned to the one advantage they would have over her, their elemental powers. They weren't aware of Asha's stifling fear of water, which unknowingly gave them a huge bonus if they were looking to terrify her. These two girls would become revered as the girls who were able to cause fierce and feisty Asha Woods to become reduced to a cowering, sopping mess that no longer knew the meaning of 'fight back.' Asha's scare factor was going to be drastically lessened, since two Water girls were able to leave her shaking with terror. Revenge wasn't even something that Asha could process, her mind was still stuck on the frightening revelation that for the fourth time in her life she was drowning.
Her mind was sent into overdrive, her thoughts racing at the speed of light while she struggled to properly process what exactly was happening around her. With the water flooding her face she felt like nothing was ever going to accomplished again, she was going to become a limp and lifeless form of what Asha had once been. Her irrational hydrophobia was only causing her to become more tired, since her thoughts were racing and her mind soon felt worn. Asha attempted to move one of her arms, or maybe it had been a leg, but the pressure of the water beating on her was something too strong for her to fight against. Asha was writhing under the water, giving a weak try and holding her breath and attempting to squirm out of the water. Had she condemned herself so much with her choices that her fate was a death by her greatest fear. Her answer was apparently a no, her mind barely able to comprehend that the stream of water beating on her had ceased. The glass shattering reached her ears and so did the shriek, but her eyes didn't catch the scene that was happening right before her.
Someone was growling fiercely at the two girls when one tried to explain themselves, they sounded pretty menacing too. What Asha would have given to try and pry her eyes open to take in the ass kicking that had been preformed. She was still stuck in a state of daze, her mind desperately racing to catch up with reality. It felt like everything about her was waterlogged, she would never dry and the water would stay with as a constant reminder of her fear. What kind of twisted torture was that? Asha was silently begging for her body to amazingly catch on fire, at least she would be eternally warmed then. It was Ashton's words that caused her eyes to pry open frantically, had he managed to get himself into some sort of trouble with the girls? Her mind slowly connected his presence and the fleeing of the girls, he had been the one who came to her rescue. A weak smile came onto her face as she peered up at him, her chocolate stare looking murky and disconnected. "You're just further proving me right with my theory that you're a fisherman, pulling me out of all sorts of water," Asha weakly joked. Her humor was still in tact after nearly drowning again.
Ashton Raleight had taught two Water pussies a lesson, something that Asha would have never expected out of him. What was the world coming to anymore? Ashton had kissed her after fishing her out of a lake, she had invited him to kiss her, and now he had viciously attacked two Water girls with veins to ensure her safety. Her soft smile sprouted into a grin that was shining despite the fact that she felt like she had been dragged into her own personal hell. "You get one taste of ass kicking and now you're eager to go at it again," Asha said to him, slightly shocked. She held out her hands and when Ashton took hold of them she pushed herself up from the floor and stood before Ashton, shaking because of the frigid water. "Calm down, you've done those witches enough trouble. Plus, I can't have it seem like I always need my knight two swoop in at the last moment and save me." Asha gave him another grin and stared down at her clothes, frowning when she realized how much they had been able to drench her. Giving a shake of her head Asha then leaned forward towards Ashton and placed a gentle kiss on each of his cheeks, she hesitated for a moment before pecking him briefly on his lips. "Thank you." Asha sounded completely sincere.

A weak laugh that nevertheless foretold his relief brushed past Ashton's lips as she joked with him. In his logic, anyone who had the energy and mindset to kid around couldn't be too badly injured. Still, he worried about her and the state she was in. Damn it, why did he have to care so much for someone who was of the opposite affiliation? Apparently a couple of the Earth elementals had started to take notice, and despite the normally nice demeanour of his fellow elementals they were making snide remarks about his being seen with her. "Don't let your soft spot get too soft, Ashy, or you might melt right out of leadership," one had suggested in a faux-light tone the other morning. It was chilling, a clear threat to his (albeit temporary) position as the head honcho of the Earth kids. He didn't know how to deal with this, but right now it didn't matter for he was focusing on Asha and her drenched form. He wished now that he had been born Fire instead of Earth, and that he was a few years older, so that he could dry her off with a flick of his hand like he'd seen some of the college Fires doing once. "That's me, Fisherman Raleigh," he said with a stab at his own usual humour. He tipped an invisible hat and mimed reeling in an invisible catch. "You're all mine now--again. How many times is that I've fished you out?" It was a hypothetical question, of course, he wasn't expecting an answer. Three was a pretty easy number to recall, it wasn't like he needed help with remembering or anything. In a way he was glad that she could lighten the mood with her usual joking around, rather than crying all over him and making him feel uncomfortable and unsure of himself. Asha didn't seem like the type that would do that anyway, but you could never be too sure. She'd certainly clung to him when they'd been beside the lake. Then again, that was just to be expected from someone who'd nearly drowned for the third damn time. The fates were really unkind to her, weren't they?
An embarrassed blush flooded his face--he didn't want her to get the wrong idea about him or anything! "It's not like I make a habit of it," he said almost defensively. Ashton was an odd one, alright. Whilst most guys would be flaunting their fighting and masculinity to a girl they were trying to impress, he was trying to clarify the fact that he wasn't going to turn into some monster who went around beating up anything that moved. His tone turned deadly serious again when he went on, an unexpected thing for him. "Really, though, I'll track them down if I had to. They had... no right..." He shook his head, breaking off before he started cursing and saying things he would regret. Serious wasn't a characteristic either normal or flattering on him--it gave his usual cheery demeanour a frightening offset as his emerald eyes darkened with something akin to hate. Ashton didn't usually get angry, but there was something about Asha and his affections for her that changed the way he felt about violence. If they would be so quick to soak a girl that couldn't fight back when the jets of water were hitting her directly in the face, why should the usual common courtesy he displayed apply to them? He didn't think it was either cool or respectable to beat someone up just because you could, and on that subject he and Asha would probably disagree. Unfortunately, Ashton tended to be a lot more trusting to his friends than one should be. If you convinced him to like you, you could probably tell him you had thoughts of murder and he might still hang around provided you 'promised' not to follow through. He was also too quick to accept someone's word for something. Asha could tell him that she was going to give up her MMA fighting and become a nun and she might be able to convince him if she was persuasive enough.
... not that the image of Asha as a nun was a good one, for it wasn't. She was much too pretty for that. Speaking of Asha, she was talking to him again and he laughed. "Seriously, are we doing a role-swap here? I don't think I'd look great in bulky armour and a feathered hat any more than you would!" But his tone was light and airy, suggesting that she really shouldn't take him seriously at the moment. He might have carried out the joke a little further if Asha hadn't stepped forward, rational thought process flatlining as she pecked him on both cheeks. I--whoa--what? When he was still too baffled to respond, it was all too easy for Asha to reach forward and steal a quick peck from his lips. Now, though, those very lips curved into a slight smirk. "Feeling greedy today?" But his tone was every bit as light as it had been before, and his gaze softened after a moment to show her that he could take this seriously if he had to. "You're welcome," he said. "You are and always will be." Any time she needed help--regardless of whether or not she really wanted it--Ashton would be there in a flash if she called. He needed no thanks for his actions, just as he hadn't needed a thank you when he'd fished her out of the lake (twice). But it still felt nice to hear her gratitude verbalised. "Should we go to the dungeons so you can pop into the dorms and change or dry off or something?" He really did not like the dungeons thanks to previous negative experiences, but he also didn't like the idea of Asha standing here and freezing her ass off as he stood completely warm and dry.

Ashton was the only person that she would have preferred to see her flailing after nearly being drowned by two Water students who were seeking revenge after she had wronged them. She didn't even want to be plunged into a situation like that anymore, but it seemed that the gods or fate or karma wouldn't allow her to escape from her deathly fear of water. She only felt comfort with Ashton because three times now, including this encounter, he had valiantly came to her aid and rescued her without giving a second thought to what he was doing. Because of all the ass kicking and life saving that had been occurring between the two of them it made sense that Asha felt more secure and safe when she was around Ashton. He had easily proven to her that while he came off as a gentle soul there was a need to protect that set in when something was off kilter, like the Water smuts thinking that they could try and drown out Asha. They way that she was beginning to view Ashton was starting to transform into a mix of admiration and respect. However, she wasn't pulled closer to respecting him when he was also slipped into a joking mood in response to her sputtering humor. She watched him, a dull amusement sparked in her eyes and she even worked a soft laughter out of herself. "I don't think that we need to make anymore references to anything water related," Asha gently responded, her voice slightly quivering as she attempted to peer at him with a smile. She willingly leaned into him when he said to her that she was now all his. There were no protests coming from Asha, she was feeling more strength as she pressed herself into his side. "You don't have to fish me out of trouble anymore, I'll willingly be yours," she softly whispered, her lips hovering over his ear as she spoke. There was no reason for Asha to be subtle in anything she did when dealing with Ashton. She had already been kissed by him, she had kissed him, and they had a kiss that had been initiated by the both of them. Her feelings were obviously known by now.
Violence wasn't something that she would ever think to pair with the gentle and sweet Earth leader known as Ashton Raleigh. She had only been teasing when she had been speaking about how he now grown a taste for ass kicking. The flush that came onto his face made Asha frown in response, he was rushing to defend himself when really had nothing to grow all guarded about. She hadn't been expecting him to all of sudden develop a thirst for violence. He was an Earth element for all of the right reasons. Violence and rage weren't something that were meant to course through his veins, it was more of Asha's forte and every other Fire student. "I wouldn't like it if you went around ass kicking on a daily basis. You're a child of the forest and I wouldn't have it any other way," Asha insisted, reaching out to softly give him a poke on his cheek. She was the one that got a rush of having her fist collide into the side of someone's face or didn't feel any shame when she threatened someone with her control over her flames. Ashton wouldn't be allowed to think that violence was now something that he would condone, even though Asha was sure that would never become something that could be even considered. It was a slight shock on her part when Ashton said that he wouldn't hesitate to track them down because what they had done to her hadn't be something that was just. "You're not a dog who needs to go and sniff them out," Asha scolded, looking at him sternly to say that he didn't need to worry about going after them. "From the shriek that I heard I believe that you have done enough damage to them. A lesson was learned, I'm sure." Asha was secretly proud, knowing that Ashton had a darker side left her feeling more comfortable about her growing feelings of him.
Ash felt more humor set onto her when Ashton brought up the reference of Knight Asha in all of her chain mail glory and ridiculous feather hat. The mental image bubbled in her mind again and Asha scrunched her nose at the thought. Chain mail would most definitely not look attractive on Asha Woods. "We could do a role swap but I really don't think I would do well sitting on a boat and having to cast a line," Asha playfully retorted, her comical joking matching the lightness that Ashton was throwing her way. Then joking air seemed to fade when Ashton seemed to grow still and become filled with shock at Ashton's act of kissing him so easily. She gave him a wide grin, showing that she had drawn pleasure of being able to freely press her lips to his. The smile that slipped onto his face only fueled her grin to grow larger and she felt more light about everything. He made a comment about her being greedy and she bobbed her head to wholly agree with what he was saying. "If I'm all yours then you can be all mine. I'll prove that thought too," Asha's hands placed themselves on each side of his waist, her face hovering closely to his again before her lips softly pressed to his once more. He mentioned something about the fire dormitory and she just gave a shake of her head. "I'll dry off soon enough. Plus, I don't want to drag you in there." Asha gave a nod of her head and then glanced over towards the shattered glass window. "Did you do that, Ashy?" Asha leaned into him, her chin resting on his shoulder while she called him a nickname like it had been something she had done for years.

Asha leaned forward and whispered seductively into his ear, Ashton nearly shivering in response. As it was, a bit of a grin broke out across his features, Ashton turning his head slightly to look at her. He'd never noticed the colour of her eyes before, but they were a very intriguing shade--a warm chocolate brown, almost. His green optics met hers for a moment as he brushed his fingers thoughtfully against her arm. "Willingly, huh?" His voice was soft and contemplative for a moment before he nodded, deciding, "I think I like the sound of that." It was strange for Ashton to be so serious, strange for him to be truthful. Up until this point his affection for Asha Woods had only been displayed in constant back and forth joking about sex and romance and nothing whatsoever. It wasn't Ashton being serious about the feelings which he actually had for her, but now he wanted her to understand something: he did have feelings for her, actual feelings. Their friendship had turned into something more, regardless of whether it had been their first intentions. He wanted Asha to understand that it wasn't just stereotypical Earth kid behaviour that had compelled him to be nice to her--she'd changed something between them the moment she had decided to return the favour of his being a saviour and rescue him from her fellow Fire elementals. In this act of uncharacteristic kindness, she had proved to the Earth boy that she really did have a soul. And now, by trying to shirk his usual humour and behave seriously around her, Ashton was returning this favour. He had feelings for her, real feelings, and until he shut out his mindless joking and admitted them (however subtly) this... relationship, friendship, whatever they were calling it, was going to go nowhere.
Unfortunately for the both of them, the serious nature was not his nature, and his serene and thoughtful demeanour was shattered the moment she called him 'child of the forest'. The emerald eyes still fixed on hers were light with amusement, and his features were once again adorned with the characteristic grin of his. "Child of the forest? That's just a fancy way of saying flower child, isn't it?" He said this whilst mocking a shocked tone and expression, pulling away from the alarmingly close proximity and backing up several steps as if she'd truly offended him or something. She hadn't, of course, he was just being his usual self. "You're calling me a hippy, aren't you? You know, I think I'm actually offended!" With a faked 'hmph!', the boy lifted his chin and looked away. "Fine, then," he said haughtily. "I'll just go skipping off into the sunset and talk to my plants, because we all know that they make better friends than someone like you!" Carrying out the joke, he turned on his heel and walked away a few paces before he could hold it in no longer, and then he was laughing and leaning forward slightly with the force of the chuckles. Damn it, he really couldn't take their relationship seriously, could he? Ashton just hoped that she'd realised through his bleak and failed attempts at momentary seriousness that he really did mean the things he said, even if he was red-faced with laughter as he said them. He'd meant every word about the fact that she was pretty down in the dungeons, even if he'd seemingly been suffering with a sort of admiring gratitude for his saviour.
Joking or not, things took a turn when Asha spoke before slipping her hands around his waist and stepping closer. His response was natural and automatic, leaning into the kiss and deepening it for a moment. He was almost disappointed when she pulled back, but he took the moment to breathe and nodded slightly when she said that she would dry off soon enough. That was alright with him. Besides, heading down into the dungeons meant that he'd have to hover awkwardly outside of the tunnel to the Fire dormitories whilst she nipped inside and changed her clothing. It wasn't so much the lack of protection he was worried about as opposed to the lack of her company. His eyes flickered over to the broken glass as she indicated it. Normally he might have gotten flustered and fretful and immediately started insisting they clean up, but he just blinked. "Yeah, I guess I did." There was something about Asha that made his personality shift slightly. Not enough that he'd start beating people up or anything, but she made him feel less... concerned? It was like a bunch of broken rules didn't matter as long as he was in her company. This could be either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on the way you looked at it. Speaking of bad things, his eyes widened slightly when he saw a professor turning the corner at the end of the hall. "Shit--run!" he encouraged, tugging Asha's good wrist to get her attention and then indicating another adjoining passageway. He dashed down it and ran until the footsteps of the teacher faded away, and when he stopped, panting, there was an almost devious grin on his face. Why did bad things feel so good when he was with her? She was a terrible influence, and the worst part was that Ashton didn't even care. He took a breath, then kissed her again. "I think your greed is rubbing off on me, Asha," he remarked, the grin growing even wider.

Ashton's head turned so that he was able to inspect her from a better view. Asha did as he was silently asking her too, remaining still so that he could take in whatever it was he was searching for. She may have been a sopping mess but having his stare focused on her made her loose all care that she had regarding her appearance. Asha had a feeling that even if she were wearing rags he would still look at her with that same glint sparked in his stare. His hands brushed against the bare skin of her arm softly, earning a slight shiver from her. His words caused a smile to quirk on her lips. She leaned closer into him, her lips only a minimal distance away from his. A chocolate brown stare was lacked onto the jade gaze that easily seemed to captivate her. "Willingly means that I'll come to you without a single complaint," she silkily whispered, her words teasing but sounding more flirtatious than anything. She decided to mime what Ashton had done to her only seconds before, taking her fingers and gently dragging them down the length of his arm. Her head nodded slightly in agreement to his words, the quirky smile still displayed on her lips. "It sounds like it was meant to be. Like those cliche movies that always have the happy endings," Asha shared her opinion with him, her tone colored with something akin to hopefulness? Was Asha finally dreaming up her own sort of fairy tale? If she was then Knight Ashton would be worked into it. She may have not been able to play the part of damsel but he could still swoop in to rescue her. Even if she didn't need it. "I think I deserve a happy ending," Asha finally declared, nodding with finality.
Seriousness wasn't something that could surge between them for too long. Asha could settle herself into a somber mood if it was needed but why should have to be mature around Ashton? A few meaningful words were thrown between them and she really felt like that was all that needed to be said. Having him look at her with humor sparked in his eyes and his charming grin set on his face was what Asha honestly enjoyed. Ashton was the sort of relief that Asha felt like she could welcome into her life. Wait, Ashton had been ushered into her life the first occasion he had rescued her. Her lips pursed together tightly, her attempt to avoid the laughter that she felt bubbling on her insides. "I was actually thinking more like a forest nymph, Ashy," she pointedly told him, standing rooted to her spot when he began to step back from her. Her own eyes were dancing with bemusement at the disdain that he seemed to be holding against her because she had indirectly called him a hippy. "I hope you enjoy wearing your hideously flared jeans and growing your hair out to resemble a puffball," Asha huffed out at him, deciding to play along and mime anger at his choice to find better company with the so called flower children. He was a few steps down the corridor before Asha finally held out her hands towards him. She had been leaning against him and now his absence felt odd. "I suggest you use your flower power and get your arse over her," she softly threatened, wanting him back by her side more than anything. After all, he was all hers and that meant she could direct him around a little. Especially if she just wanted to be near him.
Natural, that was what it felt like to have her lips fused with Ashton's. He leaned into the kiss and her grip on his waist tightened in response. Their lips were melded together until finally she pulled away to something to him, catching the disappointed look that colored his face for a moment. Asha's own face lit up and she threw her hands out at him, patting each of his cheeks gently before dropping back down to her sides. "Admit it, you always want your lips pressed to mine." She spoke haughtily, the assurance clearly heard in her tone and seen in the way she pressed her hands to her hips. It wouldn't have been a statement that she would have disagreed to. Especially since she was quite content with the surge that she received when her lips were pressed to his. Then she dropped her insistent thought, craning head back to look over towards the shattered glass again. Wasn't he supposed to be getting all shameful over the fury that had caused him to push vicious vines through the glass? Instead he seemed to absently to take note of it, causing Asha's face to split out into a grin. "You're turning into an abuser of the rules, my dear," she spoke teasingly, sticking her tongue out at him. "Let me say that I approve." She wasn't even able to piece together what was happening when Ashton let a vulgar world pass through his mouth and then he yanked at her wrist. She was pulled down the corridor, following after him and knowing that it would be best for her to keep silent. When they widely turned a corner she saw the professor and grinned. It was a surprise when Ashton pressed his lips to hers, she responded by hungrily pressing hers back. "Greediness is good, especially when it comes to affection." Her hands spread out on his chest and she gently nipped at his bottom lip. A moment later she pulled her face away from his and glanced up at him. "And I like your affection...." she murmured, almost seeming flustered.

Even though Ashton had committed himself to being serious for the moment, he hadn't expected Asha to play along with him. He pegged her as someone who wouldn't respond quite so well as she did, and he couldn't resist a bit of a smile when she replied. He was surprised but nevertheless glad. "Not a single one?" He leaned forward for a moment, ghosting his lips over hers but not actually pressing them together, an almost mischievous edge to his actions. "I'll hold you to your word, there." He wasn't entirely sure why he enjoyed spending this sort of time with Asha at all. Raleigh wasn't nearly as innocent as a lot of people pegged him to be, but he usually wasn't quite this sneaky and daring in a relationship, either. He'd been the sweet one with the past few girls, the type of boyfriend that did what you wanted without any sort of protests or double standards. Asha was bringing out a whole new side to him--not only his serious side, but his daredevil side as well. He enjoyed toying with her, and that was a dangerous thing. But he was sincere as he nodded to her words. She did deserve happiness. Asha might not have been the sweetest or the most kindhearted of elementals, but she had enough goodness in her that he believed she deserved just as good as everyone else. "I'll give you whatever you want," he promised, a soft conviction in his tone. "Anything." He wasn't entirely sure what he was promising or what sort of thing that Asha might have in mind, but just as she had when they were hanging out at her mansion, he said, "All you need to do is ask."
Imagining himself as a forest nymph was admittedly not quite as bad as a hippy, but it was still pretty funny to think of Ashton Raleigh with green skin and leaves growing out of him. "I can charm the heart of a cherry tree and you'll be left behind all alone," he said dramatically, playing along with a grin on his features. He didn't know much about mythology or fantasy, only a few things that he'd watched in movies or read in the occasional book. Asha seemed to crave his presence, for she held out her arms to him and begged none-too-politely for him to return to her. Ashton went willingly enough, slipping his arms around her waist and pulling her closer until their lips were almost touching. He could hear his own heartbeat pounding in his ears again, the same sort of tense anticipation that he usually suffered when they were this close. He smirked at her then, emerald eyes full of a teasing light. "The cherry trees will have to wait, it seems I've captured the attention of another," he said, still carrying out the joke before he humoured her with a light brushing of their lips. It was strange to be this close, but he liked it more than he should have. "You said something about flower power?" A bit of a parlour trick--he pulled some seeds out of his pocket that he usually used to aid him in his studying, and within a couple of moments there was collection of bright and vivid flowers in his hand. He winked at Asha. "I've got a lot of flower power." They retreated back into their seed forms as the professor approached, however, and the next thing on his mind was running like a bat out of hell, Asha at his side.
It gave him a sort of adrenaline rush to run from the teacher, something he rarely would have done in the company of anyone else. He wasn't a suck-up or teachers pet, but he was pretty adherent to the rules in fear of getting into too much trouble. The fact that he was an elemental leader only enhanced this. But as long as he didn't get caught, he couldn't get in trouble, right? He was actually stifling a bit of laughter by the time he and Asha came to a stop, and it was pure impulse that led him to crush his lips against hers. Asha seemed to enjoy the way that he'd kissed her, and it made him feel even more devious. Damn it, what was this girl doing to him? At the beginning of the year, Ashton would never have been this brave and bold, but now he was running from teachers and kissing girls down dark passageways. It filled him with a strange sense of adventure. "Can't have too much of a good thing," he said somewhat breathlessly, kissing her again. The lack of air from running and the kiss combined made him light-headed and short of breath, but it also made him giddy. Perhaps the breathlessness was starting to addle his brain? Oh, Ashton really didn't care. "Screw classes, screw dinner, my friends can wait," he said. "I think I like it right where I am." His friends wouldn't mind, they had one another for company. He had Asha and with him that was totally alright. He could probably spend the rest of the day with this girl and not feel like he was missing anything. He loved the adrenaline rushes and the general excitement of their time together, he loved the fast way in which their relationship was progressing, he just loved everything about this. He was caught up in the heat of the moment--why should they slow it down?

Ashton had yet to display one attribute of his personality that she could whine endlessly about. From their encounters she had been revealed to a few various sides of his personality. He was sweet, considerate, seemingly brave, and nothing that Asha could seem to want to actually complain about. There was no way that he was perfect though. If he was openly attracted to Asha Woods and willing to pursue his feelings then there was obviously something twisted in his brain. Asha had no complaints about that either, she was actually grateful to find a guy who was more submissive but had a direct side when things grew serious. He was giving her every reason to smile instead of sitting there and picking apart his personality because of the traits that didn't appeal to her. Though she did find that she let out a little whine when he leaned forward to have his lips hover over hers. "That promise might be broken now," she murmured, eyes focused on how close his lips were to his. "You can't just be a tease like that. Follow through with what you present," she gently scolded, watching him pull away with out moving any closer to him. She was only teasing him but it would have been nice to feel her lips pressed against his again. Her complaints were instantly quieted when Ashton began to speak again, working off the silly comment she had made about the need to have a happy ending. The softness of his words alarmed her and instantly she knew that he was being completely serious. It took a moment for her to recover. She was shocked knowing that Ashton would promise so much to her. "I don't know how much it counts for but I'll be willing to carry out that promise for you too." Asha spoke gently, her words whispered out but no sign of hesitance visible. She pressed her lips to his cheek, almost as if to seal the promise to show that she would do her best to never go back on that promise.
Ashton was a flower child. That made sense, just as Asha was a child of the flames. Admittedly, flower child didn't sound as awesome as child of the flames but that wasn't anything Asha could help. Calling him a nymph caused Asha to imagine the Earth leader with his skin a ghastly shade of green and flowers sprouting out of his body. Instantly she decided that the skin color he donned at the moment suited him and flowers belonged in the garden instead of his skin. "Are you really going to make me envious of a cherry tree?" She said this to him with a pout, looking like a fussy child more than anything. Their joking was childish but Asha would freely say that she was wholly enjoying herself. Naturally she loved to have a good time and Ashton was the person who provided comical relief. They were a good pair. Her pouting seemed to work, Ashton was back by her instantly and pulling her closely to him. Asha eagerly pressed her lips to his, grinning like a fool when he pulled away. "That cherry tree doesn't deserve you. I mean, I don't deserve you either but I'm better than a tree." There was Asha once again finding a way to hand Ashton a twisted compliment. It was a challenge for her to try and directly appraise someone when she was too swept up in how excellently she did things. At least it was a try? Then her attention was focused on him as he dug through his pockets then had flowers sprouting in his palm. "I've got fire power but that trick is pretty neat," Asha admitted, eyeing his pocket after he slipped the seeds away. "I have a decent trick too." Glancing around, Asha noticed how close to the torches on the wall they were. With a little focus a small flame appeared, in moments it was burning and flickering furiously. It transformed slowly, turning into something simple, a crudely shaped heart. As soon as it had formed the blazing heart was extinguished. "Tada." It wasn't much but Asha was proud of her abilities.
Fleeing from the teachers was something that Ashton could claim as a fun past time of her underclassmen years. She had thought it was badass to linger in the hallways or abuse her chances to head to the lavatory during class. She would purposely create loud noises or cause a scene to draw a roaming professor her way. Most of the fun was drawn out of flying down the corridors of the castle and seeing whether or not the professor had the determination and stamina to pursue them. Most of the time, they didn't. This rush seemed to be something that Ashton been revealed too before. He had put all of his energy into forcing his feet to move swiftly and it showed in the gasping breathes he had to take. Asha only laughed, eager to be out of the sight of the professor and have all of Ashton's attention focused onto her. "I'm not exactly a good thing, so how much of me can you take?" Asha purred her words out, face close to his and expecting the kiss that Ashton delivered. She drew this kiss out, lips moving against Ashton's and tongue slipping into his mouth as a tease before she drew away. Her mind was racing, overwhelmed from how much pleasure she drew from being this close to Ashton. "That's a good thing to hear. I wasn't going to be very pleased if you thought that you could escape from me." She was teasing, the evidence was in her light stare as she looked up at him. All she wanted as the moment was to stay in Ashton's company and cast everything else aside, it didn't matter. Her hands looped around his neck and she pressed herself against him, looking up at him with a smile. "Don't you feel dangerous, having a steamy make out session with the number one Fire bitch in an empty corridor?" A soft laugh came from her and she busied herself with absently tracing her fingers along the back of his neck. This all felt so right.

Ashton smirked a little at Asha's complaint, amused by the idea that she was upset over this. The fact that she wanted him to kiss her was somewhat exhilarating, exciting. He had never really been in a relationship with a girl like this before. Don't get ahead of yourself, he scolded internally. Who said anything about this being serious? And for a moment, that worried him. He really didn't know whether or not Asha was toying with him or not. From what he'd heard about the fiery femme, she wasn't the most subtle or innocent of the girls in the school. But he'd never heard anything about a steady boyfriend, either. Was Ashton just going to be another fling for her, another boy toy that she could mess with for a few weeks before she moved on? He'd never stopped to consider this before, and to be honest he really didn't want to. Ashton wasn't exactly what you could call immature or childish, but he didn't like to accept that someone might not be as good as he thought them to be. Ashton didn't want to see her in a negative light, so if he could avoid it he wasn't going to. Shoving these negative thoughts to the very back of his mind, the smirk widened and he didn't move. "Or what?" He'd pulled away and she hadn't moved to steal the kiss that he'd withheld. The gentle moment of seriousness helped to further distract him, and then his doubts from earlier were soothed slightly. That meant that she was going to take this a little more seriously than summer love, right? That they weren't going to all of a sudden tire out their sudden and unexpected romance in favour of something else? As with all relationships he'd ever been in, Ashton couldn't see himself with anyone else at the moment. He fell fast and hard for whoever managed to capture his heart, and this time it just so happened to be Asha Woods.
It should have bothered him, perhaps, that she controlled the very element that could destroy him. The true frailty of the Earth element was brought to light in the face of a burning blaze, destroying everything in its path and leaving only piles of ash in its wake. It should have made him back off and think twice about what he was doing. What if they ever argued? Asha had a terrible temper--she didn't even try to deny that--and she could kick his ass in an instant; with or without her powers, even, considering the fact that she was a Fighter Girl. This should have been an issue. He'd never been the weaker or more submissive one in a relationship before. But it didn't. For her sake, he shoved all of these worries and concerns aside. "She makes you jealous, does she?" He spoke of this non-existent tree like it was a real person, teasing Asha as usual. "Well, then. If you want to be the victor in this love triangle, you're going to have to win my heart, aren't you?" The smirk that had been playing over his lips for a while now only broadened as he kept up with their joking. This was pointless and may have even seemed silly to someone else. Asha insisted that she didn't deserve him, then showed off a little trick with her fire. "I'm impressed," he said, placing a hand over his heart dramatically as if to convey flattery. "Ms. Cherry can go find a new person to play with." He winked at Asha. "For the record," he added, and this was both joking and serious, "you totally deserve me."
It was stupid to gain this much thrill from breaking the rules, and Ashton might have thought twice if he wasn't so caught up in the moment. He had been absolutely beside himself when it came to worry over getting in trouble with Nell, and yet with Asha he was laughing and running as if he did this on a daily basis. It was like some of her badassery was just rubbing off on him. "As much as you're willing to give," he replied smoothly to her words, arching an eyebrow. "Think of it like a challenge. I'm ready for anything." She teased him with the kiss, but he was trying not to be too needy or desperate. He didn't want Asha to think that she had any sort of extra power over him just because he wanted the kiss to last a little longer or go a little deeper. Instead, he did his best to focus on her words. "Escape? From you? Nah." He grinned now. "I'm sure you're a much faster runner." It was purely metaphorical and for the sake of their joking, because he'd never tested their speeds against one another and he wasn't about to start now. His chest already ached a little from all the running they'd done to escape the professor, but he barely noticed that at the moment. Hell, he barely cared. "Steamy make out session?" he repeated, and scoffed. "I've had way better." He was kidding, but he was also curious to see how Asha might react to that.
