Though he didn't mind going outside, even Israel had to admit to himself that he didn't get out much. He didn't have many interests outside of watching reality TV and doodling and little things like that. Of course, he had always been adventurous at a younger age. He'd enjoyed climbing trees and running around near lakes catching frogs, though how appropriate would it be at his age? He was nineteen now, he was supposed to be coming into his own. And he supposed he was, even though he didn't yet have a job or anything to his name. He focused on school, and now that it was the summer, he had a break from that.
But that didn't mean he had a break overall. No, he was still stuck with his parents, listening to them arguing even when they thought he couldn't hear them. Issy could, he heard every single word. And it hurt him to know where this was heading. He wanted to sit them down, he wanted to talk to them, and yet he was a coward. How did he approach them about it? "Your marriage is falling apart, now kiss and make-up." Suddenly, the future prospect of being a romance counsellor did not seem like a very good one. Whenever he thought like that, however, he reminded himself that it was just hard because these were his parents. From a young age he'd been raised to believe that they would never break up, that they were the perfect beings. Only when he grew older did he become wise to the real world.
So, nowadays he found any excuse to leave the house. He liked to go on long walks, something that confused his father. Issy wanted to ask him how he expected his son to stay in a house with so many bad feelings? He could practically smell the sadness in the air. It had all resulted from one thing, hadn't it? No, he thought, I can't blame that for their relationship sinking. His brother had died over a year ago, and that's when the arguing had really begun. However, he couldn't find it in himself to pin all that anger on just that one event. Perhaps it was the catalyst, he thought. Perhaps there had been so many issues that he hadn't been aware of, and suddenly they came out in the open.
He pondered this, as well as many other things, as he took one of his walks with no destination. It wasn't heathy for him to be left to his thoughts, but as it were, he had nothing else to do except think. That is until he felt something hit the tip of his nose and looked up. The clouds hung dark and heavy in the sky, obviously ready for rain. And soon enough, after a few more pellets dropping onto his head, the clouds opened up and a deluge began. He held his hands over his head, heading for the nearest shelter he could find. It was under the canopy of a restaurant's awning. Israel shivered, hugging himself with his arms.

"Jasmine, can you do me a favor and head out to the store?" Mrs.Cassidy asked. Jasmine, occupied with the music blasting out her earphones and into her ears, sat on the table stool, unaware that her mother had just called her. The old water elemental, almost as impatient as her daughter, turned to frown at her and threw a wooden spoon in her direction. The spoon came in contact with her side, but not hard enough that it would leave a bruise or cause pain. With a startled jump, Jasmine pulled her earbuds out of her ears and looked at her mother. "Huh?" she asked with her brown eyebrows raised high. "Oh nothing. I was just trying to tell you that you were heading out to the store for me. Thank you, dear," she replied, the frown that once sat on her face was replaced by a smile. This was something they'd always done with each other. Like a mother/daughter kind of thing. Whenever Jasmine was distracted and her mother needed her attention, she normally threw something at her to get it. When something would hit the young water elemental, the first thing she would do is check if her mother needed anything.
"The store? Oh, right! Sure, I'll go," Jas said, before shoving her ipod and the earbuds into her jean pocket. She stood up from the stool and walked over to her mother. "You want your usual herbs?" she asked. Her gaze set upon the bowl filled with chocolate sitting in front of her mother. Mrs.Cassidy gave her a small nod. "Yes, now hurry! I heard it's going to be raining soon." Jasmine left the kitchen in search for her jacket, and threw it over her shoulders before she headed out the front door. She looked around the whole neighborhood, trying to decide which way was fastest for her to reach the herb store. Not everyday she'd go on errands to buy herbs, so she'd always find herself in this position. Not exactly sure which way is the best, and more than often ends up going the long way. That is exactly what happened to the water elemental. She decided to go right instead of left and had much more walking to do.
She'd made it half way to the herb store, when she noticed the clouds grow dark, and rain began to fall. At this point, she started to break into a run. The rain never was a problem for the girl, she used to always love playing in it, but as she grew older it seemed too out of character for her to still be playing in it. Ignoring her mother's warning, she'd believed she could make it to the shop and back before it starting to rain, with no umbrella, and oh was she a fool. "Damn it," she growled, as the rain came down harder. Hurry up and find shelter! The first thing she'd saw available to help her in this situation, she ran towards it. It just so happened to be her luck that someone else was shivering and covered in rain drops, under the canopy of a restaurant she'd saught out for shelter. He looked a few years older then her and kind of cute. He reminded her of a little puppy as he hugged himself and she couldn't help from saying awe. Jas felt rain drops traveling through her hair and settling on her scalp. She'd just realized she was still in the rain and quickly ran over to the guy. "Uh, sorry. I got caught in the rain as well..and this looked like a comfortable spot to wait out under..." Jasmine had to hug herself as they stood side by side, before she'd have the unresistable urge to touch him. He looked that darn cute.
[hey! hope you like!]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: transparent, width: 400px; height: 300px;] you mean that much and it is hard to show. gets hectic inside of me when you go. can i confess these things to you? well i don't know. embedded in my chest and it hurts to hold. i couldn't spill my heart. my eyes gleam, looking in from the dark. i walk out in stormy weather, hope my words keep us together. steady walking but bound to trip. should release, but just tighten my grip.
One to enjoy his peace and his alone time, his first reaction to the girl's approach was...no reaction. He looked blankly, the mechanisms in his brain working to come up with some suitable response. Surprisingly he managed to be an impressive leader, even with his social anxiety issues. They never became too debilitating; he just tended to be a reserved person, without any reason to go out and make friends. He didn't think he needed to, considering he had a great group, as is. Why force himself out of the comfort zone he'd been in since he was a small child? He'd always been a loner, though the title did not come about because of bullying or trauma. It's just how he was, and yet he proved himself very capable of leading an entire element.
Not wanting to make this girl think him a freak, he smiled at her, the gesture bringing light to his eyes. He lifted his hand, moved his fingers in a half-hearted wave. "No, I mean..no, don't worry," he said, his voice quiet and mingling with the summer rain. He shifted a little, foot to foot, wondering if she should repeat himself, make himself louder. The boy wondered if she may have thought it would be lonely, waiting for the rain to let up by herself. This thought encouraged him to be more friendly, because he could be perfectly capable of that. It just was not in his nature to be outgoing, unfortunately. Though his father had incessantly tried to convince him that it would be necessary for his future, it would be needed to get ahead in life, Israel knew that to be untrue. He was polite and nice; those, he believed, were all he needed.
"Why are you out now?" he asked for mild conversation. He realized that the question might be returned to him and realized that he would be shy to state the truth. The weather hadn't been on his mind when he wanted to get out of the house. He didn't know that rain had been called for. Not that he paid attention to the weather anyway. Plus, even if he had seen it, he could be quite spacey. Israel wondered if this girl would mind that, and a part of him felt self-conscious, even though there would be know way she would be able to tell. "I'm Issy, by the way." This time he tried to raise his voice above the rain, have it be heard.
