Jasmine walked through the hallways of the academy. She'd just come from the washroom and was heading to the janitor's closet in search of a janitor. Someone had alittle accident in the girl's bathroom and there was blood on the floor. Jas had a heart and decided to tell a janitor so no one else would have to stare at blood all day until someone finally noticed and told the janitors themself. Jas knew the feeling of having an accident and being too embarrassed to tell anyone. It was a week before her birthday and she was sitting at the dinner eatting when it happened. She paniced and ran to the bathroom, a blood stain on the bottom of her pants. That's probably why the blood wasn't cleaned up yet, whoever it was was probably afraid someone would know it was her if she told.
As Jasmine turned a corner all she could think about was what the janitor's closet looked like. She never saw one in person, only in movies, but she doubted they were as neat and organized as the ones in films. 'It's probably dirty like a dumpster. Trash everywhere and dirty mops that have been used a thousand times but never cleaned. The janitors are probably just as dirty as their supplies....Trashy.' she thought, walking forwards. Her judgemental side was starting to show. Jasmine stopped and looked around. This whole time she had no idea where she was going, but she was determined to find it on her own and she's just too stubborn to ask someone directions. Yup, her second year at the academy and she still doesn't know her whole way around.
Finally, Jasmine came across a sign that said 'Janitor's Closet' and an open door. She took a deep breath and knocked on the open door. "Umm...Is anyone in there?" she asked and when no one answered she just walked inside. Jasmine had a habit of closing doors behind her, so she closed the door. When she looked around, the interior shocked her. The janitor's closet wasn't anything she expected. Similar to the ones in movies, it's alittle cluttered with shelves of toilet paper and liquids in cartons, but it was nice and organized with clean mops and brooms lined against the wall. Jasmine sighed when she didn't see a janitor. She headed from the door, but quickly paniced when she turned the knob but the door didn't open. "This can't be happening." she said, repeatedly turning the knob. She started banging on the door."Nonononono. Open you stupid door. Open!!" Jasmine backed away from the door and searched the room for keys. When she found none, she stood in the middle of the room and her breathing grew quick and heavy. Her mind started playing tricks on her and in her eyes it looked like the oh so neat janitor's closet was shrinking. "The walls...are closing in on me..." she whispered to herself before she lost it and started running around the room, screaming. She threw things off the shelves onto the floor and kept banging on the door.

"i don't understand how he grades things, it's like he takes point off for food stains," angela said as they walked down the hall. it was the end of the day for most college students who were taking morning classes, and even though nell sometimes had extra classes to do, this had been a normal day for her. which meant she could get a sort-of break. she was deciding what to do with the free time she had until she went to work as she spoke to her friend. "then maybe you should stop eating while doing your papers," nell joked, and angela thwacked her in the arm. she started to laugh before handing the girl's paper back to her. "i don't know, it looks good. then again, i'm not a professor." she didn't know what went through their heads when grading, honestly, but she just gave them the benefit of the doubt. of course, she gave the benefit of the doubt to everyone.
angela just snorted, not believing in what the earth student said. she was starting to doubt her work, nell could tell. she knew her friend put a lot of stock into her papers because she needed to do really good, else her grandparents would be all over her about it, calling from whichever country they were in now. "are you doing anything now?" the blond shrugged, scratching the bridge of her nose. "i have to run errands. out of pecan swirls." that seemed like an emergency for angela, the girl who was in love with it and would marry the product if it was legal. and if she already didn't have a boyfriend. and even though nell was giving her time, she really wanted to know if angela was going to break up with rafael or not. she was praying the girl would be brave, but she knew it wasn't easy. at all.
nell rolled her head. "ah, you suck."
"what, no plans?"
she shook her head. "just leave me alone and get your pecan swirls," she said, wounded. "i know you like it more than me." angela just laughed and took another hallway to the parking lot. nell blew a raspberry at her back, and the girl heard, so her response was to flip the bird. such a nice girl. nell scratched the back of her head, still at a loss of what she could do. she knew she'd come up with something, so she didn't worry too much. even though she might want to change. today had been a test day, so she'd worn sweats. she was always presentable, but this was school and she wanted to be comfortable when testing. this morning, she had lazily thrown on sweats and a tank top. she felt the need to show her yankees pride, clearly, with her sweatpants. at least she was wearing sneakers and not flip-flops.
she was in the midst of texting whoever might be free right now when she heard a sound from the janitor's closet, and looked at it with a confused expression. what in the name of dora the explorer... pocketing her phone, she opened the door and stepped in. "hey, you all right?" she asked the panicked girl. she didn't want to enter all the way, really having a thing against closets. she had a long history with them. "what're you doing in here?" nell didn't realize yet that this was the kind of door that locked when closing, the kind you needed to put some kind of stopper in-between the wall and the door. she had never had a reason to go into the janitor's closet, actually.

Jasmine had lost all her senses and was going nuts in the janitor's closet. She doesn't look it but she's always been the type to be afraid of... closed in spaces. In other words, Jas is claustrophobic. It all started years ago when she accidently locked herself in her own closet at home. She was trapped inside a small closet for hours until someone, her mother, finally noticed. To make matters worst, there wasn't any light so she could see. Having the experience of being trapped wasn't exactly fun and that's when Jas discovered she had a fear of closed in spaces. She felt trapped and suffocated inside that closet and there was even a point where she thought she was going to die. Being locked in the janitor's closet wasn't helping her phobia any bit and it only brung back the horrible memories. When Jas was finally freed from the closet, she promised herself she'd never let that happen to her again. Somewhere in back of Jas's crazy, insane mind, she's dissappointed she let this happen to her. Especially since she promised, but she was more dissappointed that she pretty much walked right into this with the promise in her head.
Jasmine started pushing shelves onto the floor as the items on them came crashing down and then something moving in the corner of her eye caught her attention. Jas immediately stopped what she was doing so she could turn her full attention to whatever it was. Whatever it was just so happened to be the door to the janitor's closet suddenly opening. From where Jasmine stood and in her mind, that door looked like a gateway to heaven. Talk about insane and crazy, Jas thought she might have actually died while she was running around mad without even noticing. 'Am I dead?' she asked herself in her head as she walked over to the door. She seemed to have calmed down. As she started to the door someone stepped in and she stopped. 'She must be like.. an angel or something that leads me to the gates of heaven....' Jas's mind was really going off into the clouds. The girl that stepped into the janitor's closet stood there and asked her if she was alright. Jas wanted to laugh. What kind of angel guardian askes someone dead if their alright? "Yeah. I'm fine." Jas replied, just in time before the girl started asking what she was doing in here. Jas really thought this angel person was a strange one. Well she did die in here! "Well, I came in here to find a janitor but I didn't see him...or her. I locked myself in when I closed the door and then I guess I died..." Jas answered, gesturing to the whole janitor's closet.
Besides being strange, Jas didn't know what to think of this angel person but that she really needs to work on her clothes... Jas was looking over her attire. What's with the yankee sweatpants, eh? 'Don't angel people wear gowns or something?' she thought. "Not to be rude... 'Cause you're suppose to lead me to heaven, but what's with the clothes? You could just wear that in heaven?" Jas asked, curiousity lingered in the air. Jas walked closer to her so she could get a better look.

nell didn't realize she was dealing with a claustrophobic. she just figured anyone locked in a janitor's closet would be trying to be making noise in order to get them let out. and apparently knocking over shelves and all kinds of items. it was quite the mess. the girl's expression, however, did get her curious and worried. when the closet girl verified that she was all right, nell wrinkled her eyebrows together. "you sure, you don't look so good." and not in the 'i've been trapped in this closet for a while' way, more of a 'i've been trying to dig an escape route out of this prison' way. she became even more worried with the girl's explanation, which started off normal, but then led into the fact that she was apparently dead. nell looked around for a moment, wondering if there was someone else in there trying to kill her. but no, it was just the apparently dead chick. "uhm...what?" was all she could get out at that point.
it was at that point she wondered if the girl was a little...off. she wouldn't judge, of course not, but she wondered how she should handle the situation if she was speaking to a delusional person. because as far as she knew, they weren't anywhere near heaven. they were in the academy hallway. and then she was being called an angel and nell had to laugh, though it was a light chuckle not meant to patronize. "well you know, if angels are from new york, i'm sure..." before she continued on that train of thought, nell shook her head. "but uh, you're not dead, i'm not an angel, you're alive. just...pinch yourself or something if you're unsure." that was for dreaming, but how were you supposed to test to see if you were alive? nell certainly wasn't going to harm the other girl.
instead, she asked, "uh...why do you think you...died?" nell looked back into the closet, part of her wanting to clean it up and not leave the mess for the janitor, but then there was the fact that she really did not like closets. or closed spaces. but especially closets. "hey, why don't you hold the door open for me? i wanna clean this up so that the janitor doesn't have to deal with it." she swallowed as she stepped in, feeling immediately uncomfortable. as long as the door was open and the girl didn't stand in the way of it, nell believed she would be all right as she started to clean up the shelves and the cleaning supplies that had been on it.

This angel person definitely had a spot saved of Jas's strange and odd list. Possibly even a spot on her rude list. First, she had the audacity to ask Jas if she was alright and what she was doing in the janitor's closet, knowing she died there, and now she was questioning her and acting dumb. Jas just nodded her head when the angel person asked if she was sure. What did she mean when she said Jas wasn't looking too good? Jas wanted to say something when the angel person looked around and put on her 'I have no idea what you're talking about' face, but bit her tongue. 'Don't upset the angel person, Jas. She might show you to hell if you do...' Jas thought to herself. Jasmine wasn't a big believer of hell, but if there really was a hell Jas wasn't interested in visiting it.
'Why the heck is she laughing? I see nothing in this stupid janitor's closet that's funny.' Jas thought watching the angel person laugh. 'Maybe there's some kind of joke in all of this, but I just can't see it...An angel joke...' What the angel said after she chuckled, Jasmine took into account. 'So angels from certain places can wear certain things than others...I could understand that. Just like religious people and their customs.' Jas continued to blurt out in her mind. She was taking everything the angel person said seriously, until she began saying she wasn't an angel and she wasn't dead. "What? I'm not dead and you're not an angel? You're kidding right? So, i'm alive? If I pinch myself that's suppose to insure me that i'm not dead?" Jas asked slowly as if talking to someone slow. Jasmine didn't believe a pinch would prove she was dead, but she pinch herself anyways and an ouch from her mouth followed. Jas still didn't believe she was alive, though decided to go along with the angel person. 'She's probably just messing with me.' Jas thought.
Jasmine rubbered her arm where she had pinched herself and watched the angel person ask why she thought she died. Jas just shrugged her shoulders. She honestly didn't know why she thought she died, but it didn't seem like a coincident that this angel person showed up all of a sudden when Jas was freaking out. It didn't even come to her mind that she might of just lost her mind and someone, this angel person, was just walking by the janitor's closet and happened to hear her screaming."I guess the walls came in and I got squashed...I really don't know why..." she answered, as the angel person asked her to hold the door. Jas walked over to the door and held it open. 'Well, I guess that's what angels do..If someone dying makes a mess, they have the option of cleaning it up... She's really nice to clean that mess up just so the janitor doesn't have to when it's his/her fault i'm dead....' Jas thought to herself, watching her start to clean up the mess she'd made.

nell handled psychosis considerably well for someone who had experienced it in the worst way. it didn't frighten her, people with it didn't scare her, but it did worry her. she knew it wasn't something to be taken lightly, mental issues, and it wasn't a matter that she would consider making light of. she respected anyone struggling with mental illness. she herself had her own experience with it in her clinical depression, and she knew to a certain extent how horrible it is to live with that kind of burden. but the question was whether this girl was suffering from psychosis or just frightened to her wit's end. nell had never thought she'd died when she was locked in a closet. after developing her fear, when she had been locked in a closet and almost killed by some ex-thugs, she mentally shut down. it hadn't mattered whether she was alive or not because she just blocked everything out. so did that mean that this girl had a fear of a janitor's closet?
nell stopped laughing shortly so the girl didn't think she was laughing at her. if jas was dead, that would mean she were a zombie, and nell didn't want to joke like that out loud unless she frighten her more. she just thought it to herself as she listened to jas's next words, questioning everything that nell had just said. the earth graduate tilted her head and nodded slowly. "yeah, i'm pretty sure that you're still alive because you know...i'm alive too. and i wouldn't--" just the the girl pinched herself and nell grimaced a little. maybe she shouldn't have encouraged her to do that. "so, the fact you can still feel pain pretty much guarantees you're alive right?" that should be enough proof, hopefully. she still wasn't ready to label this girl as a crazy just because of a panicked reaction, that would be more than a little cruel.
the next words, however, after the girl had rubbed her arm and apparently gotten over the pain, made a little more sense to nell. she nodded. "claustrophobic, huh?" she said. that made a lot more sense. well, maybe not entirely a lot more sense because who reacted like that? nell supposed it was better than a mental shutdown. "welp, i promise you that you're okay." she didn't tell her that she suffered from it too. she wasn't keen on sharing information about herself, she never felt comfortable with it. after cleaning up the mess, she went back over to the girl and said, "do you have a class to go to? i'll walk you there. nell, by the way." she figured it'd be good to introduce herself. nell wasn't a very angelic name--gabriel, michael, those were angels--so she believed that could be even more proof that the girl had not died in the closet. thinking about it, she supposed it was an acceptable reaction for someone who felt as if the walls were suffocating them. death came after suffocation.
